  1. Just to clarify my last post mate ,what i actually did was remove my original OEM Bose put it on the bench strip it down and the donor bose stereo from a late facelift 08 car that jap spares was breaking and swapped the cd multi internal unit out and into my original stereo and refitted it and that avoided any programming issues . you just need a newer stereo that you know is in full working order to start with
  2. If it helps i can tell you i bought the newest late second hand OEM Bose unit i could find and dismantled it removed the section which was the 6 Disc cd multi unit and swapped it into my original 54 reg oem stereo and cured the skipping issue completly, its a bit fiddly but depends on your skill / fear level lol .it did mean no issues with codeing etc
  3. surely if your fitting them to a pre face lift car you will need the 2x side panels with the knee pad from the face lift ? just being nosey / helpfull
  4. im sure you need different wheel arch liners and would need later headlight washer assembly ,although your jdm does not have them maybe ? but the new bumper i assume would have the holes in for them on a uk model ,im no expert and do stand to be corrected
  5. I totally agree with everything you say and your reasoning is spot on, I have used the same tyre place for 20+ years and they have always looked after me very well including fitting my 'new' exhaust a few weeks back even though they didn't supply it which they would refuse to 'normal' customers for the reasons you stated above but because it was me they did it which I genuinely appreciate. Having said all of the above though I understand in the current economic climate why people will try and seek out a deal and although personally a fiver here or tenner there would not make me go 'internet' vs my local place this deal on the pilot sports from amazon roughly works out £40-50 cheaper per tyre, essentially £200 for a set and in reality who can refuse this type of deal even allowing for the £10-15 per tyre fitting cost from someone that will agree to stick them on for you? Let's face it if they do it they are probably making a quick £40-50 for 20 mins work excl valves/weight costs so around £120-150 an hour equiv labour costs so I can see both sides of the argument for buying/not buying from the internet Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I fully agree with you regarding these tyres and the price on Amazon which is so good im tempted myself as im due a new set of boots and am going to fit the MPSS as it seems the tyre to have ,although you know what they say about "IF IT LOOKS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE " it probably is . such a price difference is unusual on any product.those kind of profit margins dont usually apply And to be fair i not suggesting people don't buy off the web but was giving some insight and my opinion from a motor trade point of view as to what is happening and the possible long term effect
  6. As im in the car trade tho but NOT in any way connected to tyres i do understand why you find local tyre shops p*ss*d off with internet tyre buyers ,the issue is they cant compete on the price against supply only internet sellers or dropshippers As many dont have the buying power for large discounts on the tyres and cant stock all brands and sizes in large quantity . They have premises and worse still business rates and utility bills to pay along with wages for themselves and or staff to pay ,even they have to eat lol They also have to have insurance for premises and cover for damage etc then have to pay to dispose of old tyre case etc All the internet seller needs is a website and supplier One day you will rock up at the local tyre place to find they closed if they happily fitted your own supplied tyres for a drink as would make little money and no sales its a tough one as we all want a deal and the cheapest price I regularly have customers trying to get me to agree to fit thier own supplied equipment and then want us to offer on going after care and same out of hours back up etc that we give customers who have the equipment supplied and fitted by us I allways make it clear that is not going to happen and we will charge accordingly for all services on their own supplied equipment and that all warrenty issues will be theirs entirely to settle with the original supplier. It is the only way we can stay in business and we are a specialised workshop not a normal garage so ive no idea how some garages keep going
  7. As trade link said a Cat C recorded requires a VOSA check known as a VIC check basically "vehicle identity check" to establish that the presented vehicle is actually the original damaged recorded vehicle all they do is check the VIN numbers plates and tags etc and sign it off
  8. LOOKING AT THE FRONT BUMPER ,IS THAT NOT FACELIFT AS WELL ? IF SO WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPENSIVE CONV WITH WASHERS ETC AS WELL AS INTERIOR
  9. Thats exactley what i was thinking its been covered up by the previous keeper !!!!
  10. I have a paint shop who does a lot of work on my flet vehicles and had him paint my 313 bonnet and repaint my original bumper and had a lot of trouble getting a perfect match we done the job 3 times until i was happy as he had the right code but there was 32 tint options ? ended up as KY02 and had green tint ,mine is not a blade more gun metal if that helps
  11. I had the same problem but salvaged a couple from the center section while changing the original exhaust from the cats back for a miltek, just heated them up and knocked em out ,did the same to the ruined ones on the cat flange and inserted the used ones .just need heat and a hammer
  12. If you want to replace the relay you can use panasonic JS1-12v-F relay .It is slightly larger than the relay fitted but if you look carefully at the pcb it is drill and marked for both sizes there is a white box on the pcb . please note the pcb is coated with a conformal coating that will need to be removed prior to soldering to allow a good connection useing this relay solved the problem . you will of course need a soldering station or at very least a good soldering iron 35w to 50w should do it you can source the relays for £2.70 with free post on ebay
  13. as it happens i have all ready done this and bought the relays for under £2 a pop single's, i should be able to find the part number if any one wants it but will need to look in the workshop tomorrow ,i think i did have a spare or 2
  14. 100 % agree with others regarding the snap on impact gun ,it really is the only one worth buying ,have found with the same with battery jump / boost pack the snap on unit is pricey but kills all competion
  15. Simple you coul fit a parrot mki9100 or mki9200 handsfree kit would give you both mate
  16. LOL dosent bode well for your new occupation ! could be a dangerous job
  17. I also have a perfect pair as i removed mine when i fitted face lift center console and later face lift stereo requires later brackets to match
  18. I have just spent a nice sunday afternoon in the workshop doing the complete center console and waterfall / cubby swap on my 54 GT and have to say i am well pleased with the finished look .IMO it makes the interior look far more modern ,and the hazard light switch is where i think it allways should have been. I had been meaning to do this conversion for ages but to busy up to now with work and had all the parts except i was stuck with the original OEM bose headunit not fitting the face lift dash as they are shaped diferently, and i was adamant i wanted to retain the original bose oem setup even tho it skipped and jumped from cold, but last week spotted a face lift headunit on ebay for a fair price and bought that once it was here i couldnt wait to do the job lol. I decided to strip the facelift headunit down ,and ve transfered the front face panel and the 6 disc changer unit over to my original old bose head unit re assembled it,also used the facelift headunit mounting brackets and away we went ,the best bit is the skipping and jumping is fixed as far as i can tell as well

  22. just remove the small sub amp and desolder the grey relay ,buy replacement relay on ebay and solder to board permanent fix done properly if you need the replacement part number i have it somewhere in my workshop and can find it for you, cost a couple of quid for the relay
  23. hi mate i am not sure im exactley local but i know im not far away .I have a standard 350Z UK Gt with a milltek on and standard cats ,standard engine .If you want to come to hear it your welcome to . Its been fitted only a few months and is settling in but they do get better sound as they coke up ,I probably will sooner or later go Berks HFC and an uprev . At moment as i said its fully standard so if you want to come have a listen its no problem
  24. Hi does anyone have an unwanted but definatley working Bose main amp(the big one in the boot) for my 350z UK GT .I am thinking mine is dead as i have a fully working system with no audio output its as if muted on cd and radio. i have stripped and resoldered all internals of my amp and have checked for supply voltage at loom plug etc ,so just want to try a direct swap over. I have previouly repaired the Sub amp with a new internal relay and that is fine please PM with a price and postage thanks
  25. Not comfortable handing over £200 in advance ,but happy to tell you i am coming with 10.2K in cash notes is also slightly unwise ,at best limits any potential negotiation as seller will hold out if he thinks you really want it or at worst him and a couple of buddies help you part with the cash and no car .I would have company if carrying 10.2k personally but thats maybe just me ?
