  1. Theres a McLaren, Bentley, Maserati garage close to me and also Lambo, Ferrari, Aston Martin etc in Edinburgh. I used to be in and out randomly when I had the Z (I liked to drive a lot...) so I've seen most cars even new ones multiple times and been in most of them... I just love a good opinion lol. As soon as this and the new Vantage hit Edinburgh I'll pop in for a look to see it in the flesh most certainly. Best thing is about Aston Edinburgh their always friendly and the doors to all the cars are always open, which they tell you Doesn't matter how old you get always fun to go look at some nice cars when that's your thing. I do err towards style over most things even the driving experience. Studied design a bit when I was younger so its the first thing I pay attention to. A car could be amazing to drive... but if it looks like ...say an A45 AMG... I'd happily throw the keys back at you
  2. I have a thing for GT cars..... Perfect millionaire garage would have a supercar, daily driver (also for the crap season with winter tyres), the GT car and a space for constantly changing every so often to try different cars you always wanted. So... some sort of Mclaren (prob 720 despite it looking odd), GTR (instead of a range rover for the winter lol) and of course an Aston of some sort (I do love the last gen DB9)
  3. .... lol just... naw. I get what you mean though, but again I understand they need to change the language, it can't be a 2013 DB9 based effort or Vantage spin off (even though the 2013 DB9 to me is the best modern looking GT car made). It would get repetitive and Aston's designers themselves have said they want to do more different things with the styling and to distinguish each model. The DB11 was just a bit odd with that rear, the new vantage I like, I get that not everyone will like the futuristic styling but you gotta go somewhere different... And the new DBS, hell of a lot of gapingness but meh works IMO. (there has to be someone high up in Porsche tonight sitting looking at that rear thinking..... HOD ON!)...."hold on one minute" for you down southers lol Change needs to be made at some point and along the way they'll have bad efforts (DB11) but their getting back I think and remember the DBS prior was full of tinsel and bumpers and grooves and it worked damn well lol. I def wouldn't say there hideous...
  4. Its ok, the seats I think are not too bad, possibly remove the chevron effect and the honeycomb which is a bit much. I don't like the centre part and that stupid touch thing you use to draw on or use the turning knob to select stuff... hate it... along with these stuck on screens (not too bad in this case) AGREED! (unbelievable... lol) I watched the Shmee vid (I actually hate that d**k, but its one of only 2 or 3 vids of it so I watched it briefly). They are offering either carbon/normal slats or the mesh, think I'd take the dark mesh to save crap from going into the engine bay. (or worse still someone shoving something in). HOW VERY DARE YOU... Yes there not the best but its a site I can check reasonably quickly on my app thing,....it'll do. It has pictures... I'm simple. I knew Dan would be in at some point haha.
  5. https://carbuzz.com/news/presenting-the-715-hp-aston-martin-dbs-superleggera So there it is the new DBS Superleggera (although I'd rather just call it the new DBS). MUCH BETTER ASTON! (as if they would be listening)... I was a bit disappointed when I saw the DB11 especially that rear and the lights, I just didn't think it looked right...a bit much. With this they've made it what it should have been. However everyone will have 'concerns' and no car is truly perfect... not everyone could live with the over-sized gaping hole in the front but I could live with it. I'm still not completely sold on the centre dash part, has an essence of XK to it, no bad thing but bit older looking in design. The steering wheels a bit odd shaped and those bloody door handles the wrong way round.....who the hell thought that was ergonomically sound?! The rear thankfully has been sorted, 4 pipes!...nice little lip and the lights are much improved (if not seemingly stole from the modern Porsche catalogue lol) Overall it looks classy yet powerful, a nice piece of design! Can't wait to see one in the flesh when it hits the Aston showroom up here. What do we think?
  6. I'll come back to this topic on the next car I buy, not even gonna attempt to put a pic of the horrid thing on here ..... Not a big 911 fan but I do like those wheels!
  7. Last time I watched a programme they said servicing...routine... basic one...was around £25,000!!! yikes
  8. Think its just your luck as said just keep an eye on that pressure gauge! Before I sold mine it had 102,000+ on it and no signs of any issues (just keep spare cash is all I could advise or if possible go lower mileage)

    Audi TTS

Just seen the vids post of Kris's TTS, the grey 350Z was mine, poor start but it wouldn't have mattered the thing shoots off the line like nothing... Make no mistake a TTS is quick off the line and with mods would be very fast. Not very involving in the drive and steering feel is a bit naff (guy at my work had one). Kris also told me the fuel wasn't as good as you'd hear quoted either! By all means though, not a bad choice, subtle weapon, I'd go for the auto though if you did.
  10. No one here should be buying a car for an investment lol. I bought the Z knowing it would loose money and didn't care as thats not the point lol. I've watched some car shows on the MCLaren F1 and there are people using them daily (thankfully)... fair enough keep some for historic purposes but the rest should be driven and not care about mileage or depreciation. Again my opinion but you really shouldn't be buying hoping it holds on to money... thats just a bonus if it does. Drive the thing, put lots of miles on it and have lots of smiles lol
  11. You don't need to be the fastest to have the most fun or enjoyment. It is a wierd one as the Z had plenty of irritations but the whole package worked... big engine, decent power, rear wheel drive, great sound, looked the part. You could be in something less powerful but if it looks like a sports car and feels like it inside (I.e low down cocooned feeling) you feel more special and excited about going drives. I've been in Golf Rs, some RS's and your in a hatch and no amount of pace and tinsel in the interior will hide the fact you can see round you from the high windows and multiple ones that your in a hatch. Z's interior sucked but the cascading centre console, the low windows and driving position made it feel like your in your own little super car (I know I use that loosely but you get the picture...see inner child for reasoning). An Audi hatch could be mental, but I'd still pick something stuck to the ground as it looks better IMO and feels more special. Again everyone's different, I have friends who like this pick up truck trend to be high. I feel safer with my ass on the floor lol. Swings and roundabouts for everyone.... I'd love to go back to a Zed but the clutch annoyed me enough to think (with my daily traffic jam) I could do an auto with padels, as long as it has some sort of sleek appearance and 2 doors (although even these days things are getting bigger, taller, bulkier in design)... (I've plenty time just now to think about this unfortunately)
  12. Seen this on CarBuzz, I hate the colour, the wheels and the tan interior but dear god its an F1 and not many go up for sale often. Will be interesting (if unsurprising) what price it goes for. 680 ponies in a 20 year old car...good god. I wish some car shows (although some have done it will the odd car or so) would do a proper test with an F1 against modern stuff, just....just to see where it lies in terms of straight line performance these days. Like the 'supercardrive' shoot outs and drags you seen on youtube (the inner kid in me loves those). Either way this thing will go for silly money and tbh (along with most cars) probably not ACTUALLY worth it, after all even with history etc...its a car. You can buy islands for some of the prices of cars sold at auctions for goodness sake lol https://carbuzz.com/news/someone-will-pay-insane-money-for-this-ultra-rare-mclaren-f1-lm Thoughts? (if any)
  13. It's a sore one... but on to new things! I miss mine badly and I'm already considering my options for its actual replacement. I don't count what has replaced it as the 'one' (I'm having a sort of...2 year crap car break lol). Hope you enjoy the new one!
  14. First Car.... thats....crazy... jesus...what do they upgrade to for a 2nd car?! (bank of mummy and daddy helping perhaps or are they just buttons over there? Not that there that expensive hear mind you..)
  15. I had mine out in all weathers with summer tyres and I'd say it was pretty hard to stuff it unless you were a right t*t or really unlucky. You see it in America with it being apparently one of the worst for deaths. I can only assume its young people buying the Z's and thinking they can do whatever with it lol .... I nearly got an XK/XKR... does that make me old? (looking like a right novice these days though... ) M3 I can understand from most of the ones I've ever seen pass me ...

    Next Corvette

Its certainly going to be different. If it goes with that side profile and rough look I think it'll be not bad, huge amount of Corvette fans though might be against it departing from the front engine, RWD, GT style. Big brave move from Chevy to try it. I think its prob good change though as its been the same look for some time and was starting to get dated, even the latest still has hints of C5 lol
  17. AMT

    Wow.

A Giulia Coupe would be an astoundingly good looking thing, side profile looks the business. BMW... meh... lol
  18. So I usually am not a fan of either Merc or BWW, there are some items like the 8 Series original or ...well I can't think of much Mercs I like... and the trend continues. What is it with Merc and this horrendous rear they like using?.... https://carbuzz.com/news/mercedes-finally-reveals-amg-gt-4-door-coupe When BMW can come up with a belter like this.... https://carbuzz.com/news/bmw-makes-us-envious-with-green-concept-m8-gran-coupe (the diff for me is the rear, love the tail flick...makes it complete somehow..where as the Merc dull, bulbus thing is... bit like the 350's without that tiny spoiler... just not right lol I'm not suggesting they put a spoiler on it its just ugly no matter what you do, needs a re-design if you ask me. And yes I do not like the AMG GT-R thing either)
  19. Someone must be there to do the work, can't just be the same person you dealt with that can cancel it? Let us know how you get on!
  20. 03'/53' - 55' (276) DE - Most of the common faults, less tax, not as good interior 06' - 07' (296) Rev up - Upgraded interior and face lift, some oil issues if not kept on top of 57' - 58' (309) HR - Less of the common faults, 80% new engine, bonnet bulge, higher tax (and by higher I mean the highest.... lol) I'd go for an HR if I were you unless you wanted to keep to a low budget then go for the earlier DE's, as you mentioned avoid rev ups if you can. Tbh if you're looking at a Z, the tax should not be an issue as it'll cost a lot to run anyway (remember put decent tyres on! MPS4 I recommend). Go for an HR GT. The GT gives you leather seats, Bose sound system, cruise control, better looking Rays wheels. Unless its you thing don't get anything with the tan leather seats. Some HR's have the frost white, looks great in the darker colour paint scheme but they will mark lol
  21. https://carbuzz.com/news/reborn-toyota-supra-leaks-ahead-of-official-reveal-with-335-hp As I suspected its not a good looking car. I know they can't keep concept car things but did the lights really have to double up in height? does the bumper have to be that deep at the front and why is it so stumpy and short looking. If they'd lowered the engine (if possible) and not had such high shoulder lines on both axles. Its like a cool looking car....squashed. Thoughts?
  22. Less weight always, I could always tell the diff in handling when 'certain weight' passengers got in lol. Even with little fuel you tend to notice a little difference.
  23. I know.... lol I'm curious if they still have all the stuff I left in it.
  24. No... other way about lol... I had it for 5 years and traded it in... thats me just found it for sale 170 odd mile away ... its a sad day
