    Insurance 350Z GT

Definatly gonna look into these companies, Admiral seems to be okish, I put in a quote last night on their own site without a comparison website... £2100, cheaper but only by about £300. Right enough it will sit on the street and it will be around 19,000 miles a year lol. But I will try round, plenty of time anyway, not until march remember, its not worth getting the Z yet when my town is santa's grotto for a good bit of winter lol Thanks for all the help guys tho, still checking your comments! AMT
  2. I've just noticed I've missed something lol Not got an answer for the timing belt??? Is it a chain...therefor, won't need replaced, at least not for a while anyway. When I get a Z its prob - for the price range - gonna have about 30K miles on it. Thanks AMT

£1000? That would fantastic. I'll prob try their website and call them for the Coupe's renewal in November, then make sure I will be able to change the car over to another in March, hopefully without any nasty add on amounts. I'm stunned, if thats true your details...£1000 is amazing. BUT... its in the details.. I would set my miles 19K a year (i like to use my car not let it hibernate for half a year lol) and also it sits on the street, well a car park in general. But if other people have been saying Admiral are cheap (ive saw a few quotes over the site and from mates with Admiral), I'll prob go for them, or at least see what they can do. Thanks! AMT
  4. Yep had a little look about £100 a pop, I don't mind that. I pay just now £70 for budgets cos I wasn't paying the ahem...quotes for the original pilots ...some were £180 a pop.... wtf...for a 215, 45, 17 hyundai...ehhh no. But I will take the advise on the tyres, cos it seems to be a main point of talk to keep them decent . Thank you very much. AMT

Ah well, let us know how you get on. Any rough examplesof quotes welcome, if your kinda close to my situation lol The main ones I see on the site are the two main companies that are on here and...bells Never heard nor tried em lol. Just don't go to ecar...thier cheap for a reason Thanks AMT
  7. Haha lol No thats brilliant I want brutal honesty. I know its gonna be expensive lol But can't get too much worse than what I've had to do.. you'll say hmm' its a Hyundai coupe.. i drive a lot (works a round trip of 30 miles, i drive about 25K a year, but that'd dip if i got a Z lol), tyres generally get changed ... a lot (and i dont do burnouts... silly thing to do lol), i spent a lot servicing it, changning bits, performance drilled/grooved discs, pads, filters, tints, a clutch that went not long after I got it..thank you whomever had it last and two repairs for slave cyclinder. and it does 25mpg... I'm ready for something the same money but better, if I'm gonna spend I want more than bloody 145bhp lol Oh how much roughly is a set of these falkens then? I could look but I'm lazy lol how much a tyre? I know the tyres on the back are wider I think. Thanks again AMT
  8. Ok, looking to take on a 350Z in mid march, been looking around plenty websites (including this one) and really just wanna get an idea of some of the costs or things that may go wrong. As with my 2006 Hyundai Coupe 2.0SE, its cheap... until something goes wrong. Ok... 1.) The main thing I keep hearing about Z's is good reliability...engine etc, but I keep seeing people having probs with clutchs or slave cyclinders (Had to replace one of them in the coupe... was gutted when I found it was only the circlip needed but had to get the right part for the small clip arrgh). Do clutches and the slaves generally balls up on Z's?? 2.) People say don't change the tyres etc. I'm one of these people who would to bring down cost (and no I am not one to messabout with my car, I take great care, I love cars badly.. to give you an idea..fanatic perhaps), but the traction control people say bogs down the car if not the correct tyre. If I went for some sort of budget tyre (if there is such a thing for the size of Z's) all I want to know is will I die? I know its rear wheel and in the wet prob not so good, my coupe has budgets and if i press down on a really wet roundabout it'll still just go ...straight. Would I be ok changing the Z's? I don't care if it bogs a bit or feels not as grippy as long as the tyres do there job. 3.) I saw "major service" in one of the threads. With my coupe I got it serviced every 10K for a bit, then realised it was ridiculous and not worth it, I'd get it serviced when needed and when major parts needed done. Eg. Timing belt 50K, Hyundai want near £600, I got it for...£340, including the sparks plugs and the rest of a major. I keep hearing contradictions on websites....DOES THE 350Z HAVE A CHAIN TIMING BELT?? If yes I'm happy as don't have to replace it any time soon lol, what does the major service include then for £500 if its not that I'm wondering?? O.o 4.) Erm ...think thats it, just trying to think of the mains things i've changed or had happen with the coupe so wanna know for the Z. Any help much appreciated, really, cos' this will be the biggest... hopefully bestest buy I've ever done. Put it this way, when I get one of these, it'll be the fastest car I'll ever own..,... I can only see it going down hill when I'm older... house, wife, kids, fiat punto pml Thanks again AMT
  9. Ok, as I explained in my wee (yeah I'm Scottish... lol) welcoming thing on the intro threads, I'm looking to get a silver 350Z GT. I'll be ready to go around mid-march just after the snow has left my god forsaken town lol. This is a long winded one so bare with me On March i'll be 25, i've been roughly simulating this with insurance quotes, by bringing my age year back to make me 25 to get rough ideas. So.... I'm 25 in March, 3 and half yrs driving (i spent most of my time drunk as a student lol), 0 NCB (due to an idiot at a roundabout and insurance that cant decide who hit who...despite me being in the left lane! ) and 3points for SP30 speeding. The cheapest quotes being generated are Admiral so far... £2400 (thats by putting the excess to £750... horrific I know but keep with me, I'm buying one of these cars regardless lol). i've seen a few younger people getting not bad quotes on here, so anyone recommend? I see theres two insurance companies on here also... any way of giving a rough quote if i give details (obviously bring back my age to make it 25)? Thing is I renew my 2006 2.0 Hyundai Coupe in november, I'm leaving...cos' their horrific, but the thing is, I want it to be decent so that when I change to a 350Z it isn't a horrid amount more. to give you an idea... I've been getting £1400 for the coupe with Admiral, when I'm 25 Admiral will do the Z for £2400. Annoyingly if I hadn't got banged into or caught speeding it'd be......wait...1400 (and to give you an idea...this is cheap for me lol). Anything under £2000 in total... eg... 1400 coupe then whatever plus to change it to the Z is good for me. ... help? lol Thanks much AMT
  10. Hey people, new...obviously...and looking to buy into the wonderful world of the 350! To get started, I've currently got a 2006 Silver Hyundai Coupe 2.0SE, I love it to bits, its cheap (except when you go to repair stuff as with all "affordable sports cars" lol), it has lots of kit and looks great, but around mid-march I'll be wanting to change. Few reasons for this, i'll be 25 lol, the snow will have buggered off and my m8 works (and hopefully still will) at Nissan. First things first, I bought the coupe because I like sports cars, supercars, something that was made for the purpose from the ground up, not a 3series with 2 less doors or a hot hatch, not a fan....no. I like being low, wide and purposeful, no matter how much of a **** you sometimes may look, so the 350Z... I adore. I have test driven one, loved it, found it surprisingly easy to drive despite near 300bhp (not driven one in the rain mind you lol) and it has lots of kit. Ideally I'll be after a silver GT. Read over the "buyers guide" which I found very useful, and I'll have many questions i'm sure over the next little while and hoping to gain on some of your experiences...as this is a big buy for me. Insurance is.... DEAR... very DEAR, but im' willing to put the money buy and pay it. Its annoying, the cars I look it are either too dear to buy and ok to insure or cheap and dear to insure.... lol This doen't help matter when I have 3 points for speeding (no biggie) but then some idiot who does not know how to go round lanes in a roundabout is causing me to loose my NCB because there saying its not their fault and the insurance company are crap (ECAR...never use, i will be changing lol). It would have been £1400.... dear but for me...acceptable...it will be however £2400... mad? Possibly... but I think its worth it lol. Anyway... hi...more questions soon lol
