  1. Thats what I like some comfort talk lol. We'll keep the dream going for now, not long... mmm i can hear the v6 from here lol.
  2. Arrrgh! See this is what now worries, even to the point...(dare I say it) of putting me off buying a Z! And I don't wanna change my mind! I've had to do a clutch thing before...but gear box? Is that different like...more expensive. I know fine well this is not a cheap car but I don't wanna end up in hell. I keep seeing nothing but fault for Zed's, thought from 07 onwards I would be ok but....*sigh* seemingly not. I keep seeing 07's-08's with like 20K or less, think this is why there being sold??? Stuffed boxes?? Worried now about this. C'mon peeps, talk me up here, comfort me, don't make me buy something else... lol God knows what I'd buy theres not many affordable sports cars these days and you can take your hot hatches and stick em up your ....ahem. lol] AMT
  3. Thats what I like to here! lol Don't mind the bose skipping once and a while, as long as it works for the most part lol. Struts fair nuff, just hoped that with the new ones most of the niggles would be sorted. Any other ones let me know! Thanks again people! AMT
  4. Ok, quick one here, been through all the usual 03-06' common faults know em' memorised em', but have recently realised (after viewing a 57 plate) that I can afford 07' onwards. Ones with low mileage... Bullet points all am lookin for, as a said just a quicky as prob a thread somehwere amongst the many. But anyone got one and has there been any common faults?? 07, 08, 09. As far as I read the bose system still skips on damp cold days?? Any others much appreciated (nearing closer to the buy lol) AMT

    peugeot RCZ

I went to see one of these in the search for my new car in March, does look good but was perplexed at the dash that seems to face slightly away from the driver...instead of the towards cucooned feeling Also the pedals were wierd, having to raise my foot high to get it on the clutch.. Bit of a dissapointment when I sat in it. Also the front is a bit... big and wierd, sleek from the side and back but something not quite right. Then obviously I saw the light and shall be buying a ZED
  6. Right had a look, a website says the Z can't be remapped in the way OBD flash programming? Says though that Unichip gives extra 20brake. Im not looking for huge mods, cos insurance I can't be bothered adding bits and bobs, so something hidden is fine by me lol. Powertune are one of the main places up in scotland central area for tunning, heard a lot from them, went to them for the coupe... couldn't do anything for it... grrr. But yeah chip or remap anyone just done this and saw what kinda increase? How much did it cost? I know a lot of remaps or that are around £300 odds so not too expensive. Thanks for any help AMT
  7. Oh for gods sake not again... The coupe 2.0 06' I've got the now can't be remapped because hyundai made the most untunable engine unless you wanna spend thousands.... joy. They must have been on a tea break when they made the power for it Is it the same for the Zed, is it un tunable? Remap or chip? Anyone?? lol To be honest I think I'll be fine with the near 300.. lol I remember on the test drive I did on an 56 I thought.... "good god why would anyone need anymore power?!" ... although I will be coming from 145bhp lol..
  8. Hmm, yeah warranties don't seem to be worth much, they fixed a sunroof on my coupe once, but I decided I'd get it serviced therafter at a specialist ...much cheaper and done when it needed it to keep it in good nick. Warranties...meh... lol

    fuel costs

lol I keep seeing this in reviews and everything... not the best fuel economy on the Zed, but sounds like a good trade off to me for what im getting just now... I currently have the 06' 2.0SE hyundai coupe and i only get about 300 a tank... I can get rid of £30 in a day if i felt like being stupid... crap mpg for a crappy 145bhp or crappy mpg for near enough 300bhp... god damn hurry up...only 4 months and i can start hunting for the beast! Tbh I can't wait to come on here and moan how I'm not getting good economy... cos' I'll know I'll be havin' a blast while the money explodes out the back of the exhausts! heh
  10. To be honest your all probably right, I'm just being a bit....tight... god knows why with what I have just now and the fact I'm buying a Z in the next 4months. lol Stuff it... I'll take as new as I can get for the budget lol. Just thought I'd ask. Would be remappin' with PowerTune anyway get an extra...what? 15-20brake?? Usually the norm for a NA engine I think. AMT
  11. As far as I know or have seen the 350Z came in 3 power guises, 276bhp, 295 and the 308+ one. Will be trying to find one regy'd before 23rd March 06' ...because the Tax is the cheaper bracket, but I've seen a lot of cars for sale branded as the "300" model when clearly it isn't... lol Anyone know when the 295 power came about, what date or roughly when that was? I'd get it remapped or so anyway but I'd prefer to start above the 276 lol Thanks for the help AMT
  12. Nope, Black I'm afraid. Take it you sold a white one? lol It was a family friend he did it with (Scotland btw) and the guy had spent a good few £'s on it...eg.. The real carbon Fibre hood at £800 odds lol. Insane. Most I'll do to mine when I get one is... change the aerial for a shorter one, Tint the back windows and those tiny useless 3/4's. And eventually when they wear out replace the discs with grooved/drilled ones like my Coupe just now lol. I dunno what hes gonna do in the snow (my mate just doesn't care and it will be out during winter lol) and also speed bumps.... lol GOD I WANT ONE!! AMT
  13. ...**** lol! My mate just done a straight swap for 2008 Civic Type R for a 2005 350GT with 40K on the clock.... with full Veilside bodykit and moded to 300bhp. I'm not a fan of bodykits but my its impressive... The first words I uttered to him when I went to see it were ..."I hate you so much....." lol God hurry march... Anyone wanna donate me some money? pml I can't bare the wait of 5 months AMT

    Solution!

Awwwwwwww sooooo funny, wait til' you hear this. Went onto Ecar website today to see if my renewal price was on yet...it was. So... driving for 3 and half yrs, 0NCB, 3points for speeding, 06' Hyundai Coupe 2.0SE (tis' a very nice car lol). Even without those and my normal 3years NCB it'd be £900 cos I ain't 25 yet and ain't be driving that long, putting my gran n' grandpa on as name drivers I can get it down with Admiral to the cheapest at £1150 (it was going to be 1500 , with 700 excess O.O), which means that when I change to the Z in March,an extra 400-500 (I don't mind this as its cheap for me and my circumstances...for near 300bhplol ) ....so... what do you think ecar quoted me for my 2.0 Coupe?? ...£1800?....£2000?..... no... £3500....PML!!!!!!! EHHHHHH NO. BYE BYE ECAR YOU ...well I won't be nasty You'd think they didn't want me or something.... lol AMT
  15. Ok this is a long shot, but was sifting through the pics section and came across a black Z with drilled and grooved discs, now obviously different car from my 2006 2.0 Hyundai Coupe, but the discs on it look smack bang on to the same make as I've got on the coupe (I know the guy does other cars just not sure if the Z). He's on ebay and is called MTEC100, he's a well know seller on the Coupe forums and I bought my discs and Mintex pads of him and they do the job and look great. Anybody heard of him? Prob one of the things I'd want to do when I get my Z, the brembos look good with the gold calipers but the blank discs need some holes in em I think heh Ooh, also, I changed my Aerial on the coupe aswell, got an ARK one, had to get a plain bolt screw, cut it to the right size so it fitted well into the body but also the aerial making sure no one could pull it off (and itworks just fine!), how easy is it to change it on the Z?? I see a few with shorter aerials, preferably a solid metal one would be nice...sturdy lol AMT
  16. Hmm although I'm not looking until March, I did see this myself on Autotrader, why is it so cheap?? (I say cheap, under glass's guide prob right, but for selling private/trade its unbelievable). Check it out in detail, HPI etc. If it wasn't so much a hassell Id be training' it down there for it. Good luck! (P.S. as a random note, my mate works for Nissan Arnold Clark, he says you wanna know how much a cars worth in the case of a dealer check glass's out or webuyanycar. 06 plate Z's with 25K and stuff are guided at £9K!! My mate also had one in his dealership, went to see it...not a GT so no... but they were selling at 13, they bought it in for 9...sold it for 12, but he said if id taken it he'd have put it down to 11 lol... just goes to show.. I Know my argument when I got to haggle )

    Solution!

Ok, as with a prev post I'm insuring my 2.0 Hyundai Coupe in early November and then changing to the Z in March. With the 3points for speeding the 0NCB because of an accident it was going to be £1500 (with my excess at £750, dear but I dont mind if it brings it down). Without having those items, because i've only been driving for 3 and half years, it was still gonna be about 900. Buuuut, if I add my grandfather and grandmother who are retired it bring it down to £1150 Result from Admiral!, as I still earn my NCB as the main driver and I done a rough check for the Z in march, £1600, so an extra 500ish , i dont mind that when most are quoting £3000+ lol. Now, their on mobility insurance but its a liscence nonetheless. Do they need to notify their insurance that their on mine as a named driver?? Would that put theirs up or affect it in any way, because lets be honest they won't be driving my car lol. Thanks for the help AMT

    Insurance 350Z GT

Well its here, my insurance is up on the 3rd November (I think ) so now lookin' for someone to insuranc the coupe then change to the Z in march, if ANYONE is near my circumstances; 25 (in march), 0NCB, 1 accident both parties at fault, and 1 speeding ticket SP30, driving for 3 and half years, ...please let me know who your with, I hate hunting for car insurance... vile, I'll try the two on here and bell etc. Thanks AMT
  19. yeah noticed the drivers has that wee stumpy bit. I've test drove a 350Z, for a lengthly time out a nissan dealer before... how the hell did i miss it only has one door handle? pml!
  20. Ahhhh, never noticed that, I'll check that out. Whats the point in that though? lol
  21. I'm noticing while looking around at Z's, that some have the silver door pull inside, and some have nothing...just the very low.."arm rest" like effort. Anyone know when the door handles were added on as an update?? Also any updates that were major to the interior or equipment I should be lookin' out for when buyin a Z? Thanks AMT

    Insurance 350Z GT

Might be nuts but I like my cars and unfortunatley its the only way to get the car, it'll never be under £1500 until im 50 probs haha. I dunno, Although - the names your mentioning are cheaper, or getting there, tried bell... who are owned by Admiral yet bell were £200 cheaper (doing on the web) on the Z and also £100 cheaper with my Hyundai Coupe, so will definatley be calling Sky and Chris Knott just before november for the coupes insurance see if I can get it cheap and also see if they can give me an idea for the Z in march. AMT
  23. You guys know your stuff, very happy with the response Yeah, it can cost, I've found that out, but hey things can happen. I didn't grow up loving cars for nothing, so I want one, i'm gettin' one heh. I do realise costs, when I had to do the clutch and slave on the coupe I never knew it was gonna go, and so be it I could buy a zed thats fine then 10K later it'll go, take it as it comes. But I'm glad to hear about the engine stuff and mileage. It will be a dealer more than likely as privatley I have a bit less le-way when somethings not up to scratch, but I will closer to the time check out the sales thread as mentioned... I'm in Scotland though, inbetween glasgow n' edinburgh so dunno whos where lol. Tyres yep, I'll keep em in check and I do realise I will have to get my bearings with it as never drove a high powered rear wheeler. In terms of mods, I hate them, don't like stuff to make an already good lookin' car worse. Although I do like to do things that are simple and keep it as original as possible. With my 2.0 Coupe I fitted drilled/grooved performance discs and mintex pads (look the business!), got that from the trusted ebay guy mtec that everyone on the hyundai coupe uk forums used, I switched the aerial to a solid small black one instead of that horrid fishing rod, K&N air filter and also limo tinted the rear and rear quarter windows. Simple but effective. Dunno what I'd do to the Zed, smaller aerial perhaps and at some point grooved/discs if I can find em cheap enough, the ebay guy I got mine off actually might do them Poossssibly remapped if you can do it wihout it messing up the engine, as 280 sounds better when its near 300 haha. Probably tint the rear window and those super tiny buggers at the side. The coupe engine was untunable unless you spent thousands... hyundai made an unremappable 2.0... HATE THEM FOR THAT lol. Oh and I definatly want it in silver! Looks great washed in the sun like new, hides scratches well I find also haha. Thanks again guys AMT
  24. Thanks for the info on the service! Haha, god knows how they got such a pitiful amount of power from that 2.0 engine and yeah roughly 300 miles a tank, most ive ever seen on the little (miles to drive) dial is about 340 lol. Do you think its ok to buy a 03' onwards Z with around 30-35K on it? I usually want low mileage cars, bought my Coupe with 9K on it and I've seen some Z's with lower miles (hopefully find one of them) but if not think its ok buying one for like £11-13 with about 30K on it?? I've asked a few people and there like ...33K is nothing on most cars now, and the V6 on this Ive heard is decently reliable. But obviously best opinion is from you guys.. AMT
  25. Yeah, I don't plan on dying tbh lol or rallying the car about, I'll use the pace, but I will be aware I'm in a high powered Rear drive car haha. I love the coupe to bits though, you don't get many sports cars or stuff that are low and sleek looking (my m8s got a Celica GT), its all hot hatches now, which I don't think is special enough. A 350Z.....what a prescence, low, wide powerful Dammit hurry up march lol AMT
