Yeah, I heard that a lot of them which did have it either had it sorted or new engine, apparently most have been "seen to" anyway lol. Just scarin myself cos' when i go to get it, its a big buy, the "dream car" if you will. Need to make sure I get it right. Even if it means bombarding this place with questions lol (sorry guys! ) See this oil consumption thing, anyone on here had it? I mean if it did start using more oil... just check it and top up, and should be ok... or is it more serious than that. I mean after a large amount of miles I can imagine a car might use more oil, but meh...

Hmmm, might possibly look at a 2006 after all lol.Tax doesn't put me off, just save a bit, i mean... 250 over a year. Sell a kidney or something lol

Mentioned it in my last post but while trawling through autotrader, has anyone else noticed that a vast majority of them for sale are 06' & 56' plates? Is the oil consumption issue making people sell and the fear stopping people buying them? lol Just something a noticed.

I dunno about the early 06's, I did actually see one with all the updated interior and lights but had not had the engine tweak as it came up 276. So I'm assuming its not the HR engine, meaning no oils probs...hopefully. Although there won't be many about, i think thats the best bet. Anyone know any different or did they have some of the 276 engines for a short time in 06 with the new face lift?

Ok i've almost convinced myself... I wanted the new interior but that comes with the higher power (because im now scared to go near any 06/56 cos' of that oil thing lol) and with the higher power comes... more cost. If i go for a 05/55 plate, as far as I can see, missing the silver bit on the gearstick base, around the dials, cupholders(meh),lights.... and if I go for an 05/55 it would be... half the tax price, 450 cheaper on my insurance and avoid the oil consumtion (correct me if im wrong the rev ups 06 onwards not 55?). Its like a no brainer but why does my head want to vear off. Stuff it, 05/55 looks good to me lol Bit of typed thought there. Let me know if im being sensible?

Nice one! lol When I testdrove one on sunday there I parked them up next to each other, as near as makes no diff, same size, just the Zed looks that more special with all the arches and stuff, just looks... expensive, not to say mines is a shabby looker. I think of it as an expensive upgrade... a very expensive one but still lol

Well I'll be 4 and half yrs driving and 1NCB by the time i go for one, I used moneysupermarket and its Elephant that keep coming up cheapest, I'm with Admiral just now (although there bascially the same company), so need to hunt about, I'm always weary of going to some of the smaller specialised companies as some people suggest on here. Hmm, but we'll get to that. As for mods, I like a smooth clean classy car (yeah i know booo...whatever ) my current car is this.... ( and don't mock! Its a gd'un lol) K&N drop in (probably useless), Short aerial that doesn't wave about, its solid (which id also do to the zed), blacked out 3/4s and rear window and ... Drilled/grooved brake discs with Mintex pads. When I get a Zed prob only thing ill do is, filter, aerial, tinted window on back and those tiny little buggers at the side. Hopefully get a silver one btw! I like that colour. Ive test drove two Zeds, both 2006 GT's and Ive heard people say its budget 350 (now hold itlol), because you get all the kit, leather cruise, the looks! for cheap..ish, and the Zeds like that aswell, spec a porsche, bmw or whatever like a Zed and you'd pay a fortune! And on another note, I do know what expense is with this, even though its only a 2.0L compared to the big Z, a major service... why that'll be around £600... but obvioulsy I found it and got the belts done for 380... NCB and years of driving? lol Thing is... with 55' plate and under 1300-1400 , which is fine for me, but take a step to the 313, 1700-1800... ridiculous, but im willing to pay it in full. VILE.

Sounds good to me Dunno bout everyone else, but it seems this is the kinda car you might have as a second, you might have what?.. An audi saloon, beemer, something else. This will be my only car,im not rich lol, kept outside (but trust me I keep my cars clean n' healthy ) its gonna see sun, rain (mainly lol), snow up to its bonnet. I'm gonna have the full high performance experience and all the pains in the Ar*e that come with it, but hopefully none too much since these thing have a 'reasonably' good realiability rating. It'll get kept until it dies, or I loose my job, so hopefully the first one with wayyyy over 100K. This will be my peak car, i wont get any quicker or better than this unless i win the pools....doubtful. How many of you use it as a daily? ... anyone? lol

Ahh wait I forgot I was going to ask this, I'm sure theres a thread on it somewhere, but I just want a quick answer, My m8 has an S2000, I asked him what fuel do you use, normal. Can you fill the Zed up with normal petrol instead super expensive nonesense. Now I'm not after, .."oh it'll under perform slightly, might cos the engine to get a bit dirtier inside".... will it die, explode or break? Its petrol, surely it should work just fine and surely a gd few on here use normal petrol?? Ta much lol AMT

But were back in the running, so basically and 07' (making sure its a 313) and i should hopefully have no oil issues? or any others lol. (ive seen the previous ones lists, linkage, early clutches, boot struts, transmission wine, noise etc... lol). Right, head down, work hard get a good deposit put by, then summer... and funnily enough even with a 300 bhp car, im not that bothered about speeding at a million miles an hour... I'll be happy sitting in my little 350, knowing that in real world day to day, nothing much could touch it I like that sort of prensence (and boy what a presence,saw one infront of me in the motorway on sunday, BEAST heh. any other issues with 07' onwards plz let me know! Ok, planning on getting a Zed in late spring/early summer 2012. Been looking at a few and decided to leave it until after this years snow lol (and to save a bit more for the deposit ). I've seen a lot of forums talking about oil consumption on the rev-ups 2006. Is this just an American issue or does it apply to them over here in the UK too? Also is it just 06'/56' or are there more. Had ideally planned to get an 07', but if I can get an 06'56' with the newer interior that would be nice and slightly less, plus its whatever is there at the time. I heard people were having engine replacements but obviously if I buy one next year theres bugger all chance of that, any advice?? Cheers AMT

Aw what?... Thats bone dry lol I live in the highest point of central scotland! Come and join my world of...absoloute HATRID of winter lol.. And I'm buying a Z in march... now a bit...iffy on it, but the force is strong. Solution might be snow tyres. I mean if im only using them for minor winter use then the tread shouldn't mess up too bad and I could keep them for the following year (...i hope). Is a zed truely 'usable' in the snow with snow tyres? I mean I know it will still be a handful but if it still gets me moving ...snow tyres all the way lol. AMT
