  1. Ok, so.... since selling my Z at the beginning of last year (due to various circumstances like new flat etc) I've been driving around in a 65' Fiesta... yes it burns my soul every time I look at it. Finishing off a bit of loan so will be looking to boot the damn thing to the horizon at the end of this year possible beginning of 2020, but I am starting - even though early - to consider stuff and what will be in the affordability bracket to try get something nice with performance. The plan was to change it to an old XKR (08' onwards) but this likely won't happen as I feel there gettin' on a bit and I could prob put my cash to something newer, faster or just as fast but cheaper to run. I've also got a smallish garage I'd like to put a car in too. I said to myself, due to the Z's annoying daily traffic commute, my next car would be an auto with paddles, so the newer TTS (2015+) has this, also has quattro which is useful for the winter. Tax is lower (although I will take into account the age and cost as I know the government levy some cash on it for so many years but hey...anythings better than the £535 I used to pay!). 306 ponies with 280 torque will do fine, especially since the quattro gives it rapid acceleration but even with this I keep seeing people getting a realistic 30+ mpg, which is not bad (better than 22 anyway..). It also apparently and I've checked a few websites including the official ones to compare... the new TTS is 1.2 cm NARROWER than the Fiesta, so would fit in the garage fine (maybe someone can clarify that lol). Not so sure on servicing costs I'll check that as I go, only issue is the actual cost. There still up at mid £20K's, so I'd look for one coming down to the low 20s. I'm also considering whether to throw a shed load down on it and pay it off over so many years, personal loan... or where I can (dependent on where its being sold) possibly consider the PCP/contract hire nonsense that you can still get on used cars. (only reason I'm considering this is, I'm always going to need and want a car and usually don't end up with much in resale value at the end so don't seem like I get much back...again this can be the cars had prior but anyway). If anyone has experience or knowledge of the new TT's or TTS specifically I would gratefully appreciate it. I'm keen to know of any issues with the virtual cockpit (I've read a minor few) and the 2.0 Turbo engine and how this stands up to the test of time (has it been used in others like the S3 for a while?) Again just looking at my options and it seems to fit the bill nicely, only issues making sure the purchase price/amount per month is ok and.... I still prefer nice big GT look to cars, this is more small hair dresser but again I could live with it, it's got 4 pipes for a reason. Probably not the most soulful thing but meh, I'm looking for easy daily performance these days. You can chime in with the finance option opinions if you want I just mentioned that to let you know what I'm thinking despite it being a while off (I spent a good amount of time before I bought a Z, as some on here know ) Cheers for any help!
  2. Smooth and consistent.... is exactly what the GTR driver... seemingly couldn't be bothered with
  3. plenty of stuff to read on here! lol
  4. I checked mine on ask mid and vehicle enquiry after I seen it got sold as I knew some work was needing done. It went from a main dealership to some small private dealer in Oldham, sat there for ages then seem to get sold. It got taxed and insured but its been running about since Oct' with no MOT! (my poor car what is someone doing with it?!) This post just made me check again and finally... it's been MOT'd.... (silly buggers). Think I'll have a check on the MOT history see what came up lol.
  5. Still looks a bit short and stubby but I'll reserve until I see proper mag shots and videos of it, can't be far away now lol. Leak central with this thing.... The interior is probably going to be the worst bit. The outside at least is a bit crazy but the inside just screams bogo modern BMW, no flare, which is a real shame.
  6. I agree with that, I like to base a sports car on its side profile (me being the judgmental type ), be good to see the official pics or real mag shots. It's shorter than the concept and that may be a bad thing, stubbyness is not what your after... IMO (stubbyness leads to higher arches and the like, but packaging of the engine etc can do this too). Shouldn't be long before we get more...
  7. Looks good so far, the lights are a bit thick compared to the concept - I'm sure thats down to some regulation - and the front grils, air intake areas could have been a bit less ...'high?' to make the nose a bit sleaker. Looks good in silver though, Jan its getting unveiled? (unless they brick it due to the photo and start firing out some press shots lol)
  8. If the new Supra doesn't sell much, I doubt a new Z will.... its those damn pesky SUV's.... this trend of high up crap... annoying. Give me a low down sports/GT with good looks, average fuel economy as best ya can and a nice engine... but the world these days loves a Macan, Evoque, X1, 3 , 25 whatever the hell they keep making, feels like theres a new 'box' every two seconds from the main manufacturers with only inches of a difference. I think (besides some of the really high end stuff) the sports car is dying.... There doesn't seem to be any lower end, mid range, everything's getting techy and that means expensive. Can you even get 300 ponies from many cars for about £28K up now?? lol (I love a good moan..)
  9. It does look ok with the big kit, wing etc... but ...at the end of the day... Leaf.
  10. I didn't realise this, good info post. It's a shame, it had all the ingredients to make a great used powerhouse, but the stupid steering (and its apparent US safety issues I've seen on some vids..) and image has brought it down, along with the running costs, which weren't like its competitors. Great looking car too, real shame. Unless something changes in the wind I think Infiniti might have to pack up altogether in the uk, in the future. They were different and thats what was good about them, if only they could capitalise on it somehow.

    Random Z video...

I've only seen a couple of this guys videos (his voice...its very exciting lol) But thought I'd post it up since its a Z. Anyone on here? lol
  12. Good God, a new 911 and Dan goes crazy Not brown seats though!!! C'mon!? Not so sure on the dash, but again 911's have always had a simple no fuss style to it. The rear I agree is a bit...something (is it the tailpipes too close together? a dunno..) Hate the grated/slatted air vent thingy on the back but I do appreciate the classic lightbar across the whole rear end! I do slightly like the most modern 911's with the wider look ...but I'd still go buy something slower and likely less reliable...just so I didn't own a Porsche
  13. Yeah, Lauren was one of the newer girls that started near the end of my time going to them. Kelly I think is still there and I'm not sure about Marie (she had been one of the folk from the start a really nice person to talk and deal with). David the master tech hes brilliant but no idea if he's still there, I would hope so. It used to range between £50-55 per hour, I had some of my costs reduced to help out (even when it was bumped up to 75 per hour) so they were really good with me n my Z. I think its just times changing, when I sold the Z there was barely anyone now going to Infiniti as they had sold on and they are busier now with the new Q30's etc. There will be other Jap specialists cheaper but where they are round here I'm not sure...
  14. Why spend money on the parts to do such a thing..... what a horrid thing. Kill it with fire lol
  15. Hey, they were still giving existing customers the discount. It did go up slightly in hourly rate but was still cheaper than main dealer Nissan. The guy who created it has since left but they kept the discount going when I was there (up until Jan this year) so don't know if they would honor it for a new customer as such. They said they weren't making too much money off the Z's as they were starting to fall away with people selling etc. They've started to get busy now with them doing a bit better than when they first appeared so not sure. They were certainly worth while and were always brilliant with me. "I didn't feel that the service was anything like the quality that we'd experienced previous" ...yeah I was starting to worry about that too near the end, they were getting more busy and new people starting so, times changing possibly, the service was always first rate but maybe there just getting a lot of actual infiniti customer to provide the first hand service they used to. Worth while giving them a phone and asking, no harm in that. If you do phone ask for Marie or Kelly and tell them you are on the forum and had spoken to Andrew with the grey 350Z about them, Marie should know who your on about.
  16. St. Andrews a lovely place to take the Z on a trip, used to go there all the time. I hope you went into Janettas lol Enjoy, it certainly will be a jump from a 1.4!

    4 door audi TT

This niche thing is going a bit mental these days (and I don't just mean this example, whether true or not). Coupe seems to now be a 4 door (when did that happen?! prob the CLS ...) and I mean how many versions of a 4x4 can you do... SUV, Coupe SUV, why does everything have to be high?! Why can't we just have .....mini hatch, hatch, saloon, estate, coupe, sports car/GT, super/hypercar... thats all we need! (oh yeah and 4x4/SUV...but we don't need variants just because you slanted the damn roof)
  18. I did read another article on a different site noting that America wouldn't accept it or the 3 door layout due to mandatory side airbags not being met? However they can apply for that exemption they have for show and rare cars to be imported within the 25 years. I just thought the UK had passed it and let it be ok. This things meant to be a super speed GT...a tourer! I agree, Whats the point its not passing most countries regulations lol
  19. I moaned about how this looked a bit stumpy but form a lower angle in the videos its not bad, I'll reserve further judgement until its in normal paint lol. Sounds ok although I do think most cars all sound the same with pops and a dull rev to it with a sudden cut off in gear change (I know thats due to flappy paddle but its annoying).... all seemed to start with Audi... and I hated their sporty sound. I agree with Dan, it would be good if it undercut the big boys. That was the point of stuff like the Supra, Z cars, RX7... close to the performance of bigger stuff for less... However prices for new stuff just seem the same as more expensive cars. No doubt when the Z's out it'll be expensive.
  20. They went a direction I don't think they should have went down. I think they could have still got to the speed they needed without the wierd looks, wheel caps and silly door cameras. Just as GM says the F1 still looks the business. A simple but flowing design with just enough features and it wasn't stupidly long. And I know it might not be as stable as some modern things with technology moving on but correct me I think it went....241mph... ...9 mph more and we need silly door cameras for that!? (Although 0-186mph in less than 13 secs is nothing to be sniffed at, I'll give McLaren that...they are the kings of acceleration *tries to ignore Porsche, god their quick.. * lol
  21. The XJ220 is a genuinely simple but elegant looking thing... this is... it just looks unfinished. I'm sure theres a function but I wouldn't drive about in a car with 2 axles with two different wheels...no matter the cost lol I'm not a fan of the camera mirrors and all these screens. I think the F1 somehow managed to do it better with the inside but the pictures are not ideal with the wide angle lens, be better to see videos of it being looked over, which no doubt will appear with all the usual youtubers. It's an interesting car but, I wouldn't thank you for it. I wonder how many customers went to their preview (having paid their money) and went..... Oh....
