  1. Yeah it's not easy to find nice stuff, took a punt and happy with it so waiting on two more sheets to come, one for the side vents and the other one for the koukicuda headlight grill. I could probably have it on the road next week, just have to wait for the mesh then a slot with my friendly MOT man. Won't be driving it much but plan to give her a wash and take a few photos before going under a car cover while I start work on the other car.
  2. Paint, need to get a fine brush to clean the edges as it bled under the tape. It’s less pink than the photo shows. Ford transit red.
  3. Wheel arches and liner trimmed. Had a play with some mesh, think I will order some more of this plastic stuff, looks decent in person, photos not so much.
  4. You lot and your tools are ace, I’ve got a little diff casing table made but I need the vice for tightening up the ring gear on the actual diff. The Pilar drill is not for lapping (I have that tool already lol) it’s for drilling out the valve guides so I can then use my tap and a bolt to remove them from the cylinder head to allow the new ferrea valve guides in. most of the big old vices on eBay won’t post :-( so probably have to buy a new one but as you say they don’t make them like they used to.
  5. Yeah I need to go re measure the cylinder head so I know it will fit in the gap, the stuff we have at work is great, big draper 16mm chuck but it’s £250 so hopefully the next one down should do. Its a no6 (can’t remember the brand) we use at work but same again price is about £250. So Chinese copy at £50 is worth a punt from eBay? Likewise I will hit mine with a hammer so needs to be sturdy. A miling machine is factory shenanigans! Not the home diy’r.
  6. About to kit myself out again with some more tools for xmas. Needing opinions on bench vices; needs to be large enough to fit a 350z diff in (150mm should cope) as I struggled to tighten the ring gear last time without one. Ebay jobbies are around £35-40 machine mart is about £40-50. I presume the swivel type is a no go so probably fixed so I can put a bit of force behind it. Also looking at a bench drill for the valve guides; needs to be tallish so I can fit the cylinder head under it, these seem to be about £100? I know some of you have big boy tools but I am a hobbiest so doesn't need to build the titanic. Cheers
  7. Well you didn't miss much she made it to the end of the street then had to turn back, couple of interference issues with tyres and bodywork The wheel arch liner for the passenger side needs some cable ties to hold the two sections together as the front seems to have curved down and is touching the wheel on bumps. But the main issue is the larger tyres hit part of the ams superlagerra wings so the cutting disc needs to come out again, no biggie. She sounds good, and can't hear any leaks (you guy's with vortechs will know i am talking pish as you can't hear much over the jet engine lol). Still need to attach the zspeed undertray properly again and sadly maybe have to raise the ride height a smidge.
  8. Thanks bud, seems to take me days just to do tiny jobs when I look at your tinkering and the amount of cars you have finished and moved onto I feel a bit lost and out my depth lol.
  9. I've yet to find some i like =/ been searching ebay with no luck, there are some nice ones in plastic but it probably isn't flexable enough to work. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Black-ABS-Plastic-Racing-Race-Honeycomb-Mesh-Grill-Spoiler-Bumper-Vent-/141794307446?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10
  10. So cutting into a carbon bonnet is up there in my top 5 bum squeeky moments. So many minor adjustments needed to make this dam thing fit, slight bend of the pin, slight elongation of the radiator support hole for said pin, lots of cutting of fiberglass and carbon. just need to cut a rubber gasket so water isn't as much of an issue (bonnet has vents so who am I kidding.) messy business. it will sit flush. Wheels and tyres are on....... looks @*!# hot in the flesh.... from far enough away from the paintwork. ride height will settle a little lower but need to keep it high so I can get in and out my driveway (even with wooden boards). But the tyres should have added 7-10mm extra height. So will it pass an MOT? Or do I need more camber? 4 wheel alignment next. Battery is off the trickle charger, just a few more bits and my poison will be outside! in the fresh freezing cold winter lol.
  11. They give a charitable donation every year they use our works car park to film nearby, all their rigs used to chew up the ground :-/ thankfully it’s tarmac now. My aunt in Canada is mad for it, never watched it myself.
  12. I might have a set of matte black up for sale soon, need a refurb on most wheels and you could get a colour change at the same time. Hit me up if your situation changes, I am sure we could do a good deal.
  13. Need a set of these soon for the 350z had a burst line for 3years but too lazy to replace lol.
  14. The 3”vortech pipe has a lip but I don’t remember seeing one on the throttle body?
  15. I’ve had mine pop off once before which wasn’t fun and in the future the boost will be upped (when I get my finger out) so there is more chance the pipe wants to go walkes
  16. The hard pipe has a nice bevel’ed end to it so would rather keep it as is. Hopefully it should be ok, a bigger coupler might work. Or I cut another groove out the bonnet so I can fit the j clamp with the mechanism on top.
  17. The boost isn't helping my stem seals I fear = lots of oil collected.
  18. Needing some help FI guy's, how or what do you do for clamping the coupler? I can't seem to fit two J clamps in place so will have to try a worm and a J unless anyone has ideas? Not tried the J clamp underneath as it would be a pain in the butt to undo and still might foul on the manifold or the throttle body.
  19. Trying Imgur out... Bigger fan for spray booth needed Chinesium diffuser links to hold the rear diffuser up along with the mighty cable tie.
  20. Personally I would just stick a filter on the rear pvc breather as it has never had oil in mine but its not got a vac pulling the air through it, which explains why.
  21. yup should work fine, basically the same, catches so much oil I have to empty it a lot as it's not very big, well until it self empty's down the engine bay.
  22. ^mine is still working and leaking oil down the side of my engine bay (the nipple at the bottom keeps bouncing on a hose under it and letting the oil out). Probably should relocate it somewhere but space is a premium.
  23. as always...... working. I might have even had the 350z mot'd by then.
