You want to store that in the garage after your mid life crisis!!
ATTAK Z replied to stanski's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Had a guy with one leg complimenting me on the state of the Porsche today. I thanked him and he asked how I kept it so clean. I told him it's kept in the garage when the sun doesn't shine. He promptly jumped (loosely speaking ha ha) into his dirty RS6 and sped away ... sounded absolutely gorgeous ! I guess he must have lost his leg in a bike accident. -
I'm old enough to have had a license long before the Marina came out. I've never driven one and I consider that to be a lucky escape. The funnest 70s car I ever had was a firm's Fiat 124; boy did that car love to rev. It lasted me about a year and then the oil light came on ... happy days

The FIAT 500 Riva is finished in "Sera Blue", an exclusive colour for this Limited Edition model. Created exclusively for this version is a new blue soft top, but what really sets the FIAT 500 Riva apart is the detailing. The wheels are16 inch, 20 spoke alloys with a special blue body colour paint and diamond cut finish. The Riva logo is placed on the boot lid and on the front wings with the 500 logo on the polished mahogany insert of the side moulding. Inside, the dashboard is finished in hand-polished mahogany with maple inlay. The door cill finishers and gear knob are also carved from a solid piece of mahogany. The seats are trimmed in an exclusive Ivory leather created by Poltrona Frau, in colours reminiscent of the yacht builder's Aquariva Super. Even the floor and boot mats are special with ivory hems with contrasting "Sera Blue" stitching. The boot mat that also features a polished mahogany insert with maple Riva lettering. Luxury equipment includes automatic climate control, front fog lights, rear parking sensors, LED DRLs and a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster with aquamarine background and Riva logo. The car was registered on 01/03/2017 which means that the road tax is £zero, and the car was immediately treated to a professional detail and finished with a ceramic coating. The car has had light but continuous use over the past three and a half years and presently has just over 6,500 miles on the clock. She has been serviced and MOT tested every year. The car is in fantastic condition with minimal stone chips on the front bumper. There's a private plate on the car which will be removed before transfer. This car was listed at over £20K when new and will shortly be advertised at £13,995. I will accept offers by PM from forum members in the meantime. Thanks for looking and here's another couple of photos.

There's a couple of '68 Chargers round these parts ... a blue one that's been restored and wins prizes and one presently under a 2 year restoration that will be black. The motor on the black one has been rebuilt in the states at a cost of $30K and is waiting for the body to be completed.

I think the main barrier to WFH is the loud shouting of those who think people can't be trusted to do so. And I would add that, in my opinion, the ones who complain the loudest are the very ones who can't be trusted. My eldest who works in Melbourne, has been working from home since March. He's now considering moving to somewhere warmer, perhaps Brisbane, and commuting by plane when office visits for meetings are required. He's actually proposed this to his employer so it's not pie in the sky. -
I'm sure you'll find us to be a great bunch ... some of us sold our Zeds and moved on to other cars, but we've mostly stayed in touch, so that tells you something about this place. There's a wealth of knowledge too about Zeds so ask away if you need anything.

I thought I'd look at it from the point of view of the OPEC countries, Saudi Arabia for instance. They rely on oil sales, so they'll have to think of something else to bolster their economy. Could that be hydrogen by electrolysis of sea water powered by solar ? I'm pretty sure some of these countries will be thinking along these lines and the west will be looking to sign them up. Just look at Shell. They virtually run the economy of Nigeria and Nigeria could use sea water and the sun (with the help of Shell) to produce hydrogen too.

A couple of recent posts differentiate between big cities and rural areas and to me, that's important. As usual the government is deciding national policy on the basis of problems encountered in London. I have no need nor any wish to travel to London or any big city for that matter. Fortunately all my journeys are for pleasure only, so I'm affected little by the current proposals for toll roads and electric vehicles. Furthermore, as (I think) the oldest member of our club, I doubt very much I'll be driving anything much after 2030 . -

I don't think you'll lose money on interesting ICE cars, in fact decent low mileage exotica will probably go up in value. At least I'd advise hanging on to really old stuff. Also look out for home rule for Yorkshire (and we might let you join us @stanski) with passports required to get in or out
