  1. So Zed is running rough. Car is '54 UK GT DE has 30k miles. Vortech Supercharger, DW600cc, Kinetix SSV, Uprev GT MAF, AEM basic return fuel system, etc...Uprev tune. It idles ok. If held at constant revs or constant speed it runs ok. Any acceleration when driving or reving when stationary and it runs lumpy almost like its missing a cylinder. I have had a bit of a tapping/rattle at a certain rev range (usually between 2000rpm and 3000 rpm) that I thought was behind the dash, but I’m now wondering if its engine side of the bulk head and possibly related. Things I’ve checked - Plugs look good, but changed them anyway – no change MAF is clean as a whistle Throttle body looks clean Looked for boost/vacuum leaks, nothing obvious but haven’t pressure tested yet – I hope to do that when I get home next week. Vacuum at idle is about 22 inHg and it does make boost but runs rough. AFR on bank 2 seems normal when idling and driving but I haven’t got a sensor in bank 1 so that’s unknown. I have had a bit of a tapping/rattle that I thought was behind the dash, but I’m now wondering if its engine side of the bulk head , Changed the fuel damper on bank 2 in case it was that, but no change. I have also, removed the S/C cog belt so running n/a but no change. Disconnected and bypassed oil catch can, taken off vac/boost pipe from Fuel Pressure Regulator Any ideas on where to look next?
  2. Try tyre universe and "ilovetyres" both normally £150 - £170 per corner for MPSS. They will be worth it as the wear rate on them is top notch As above. Tyre universe were a few hundred pound cheaper than all the usual suspects last week for a set of 4 mpss. I got 2 X 275/35/19 and 2 X 245/35/19 MPSS for around £800. Everywhere else was over a grand.
  3. Was the wheel refurb and a full set of MPSS for me, prob nothing else before Christmas for the car.
  4. I have just done 4 x 19" wheels inside and out with C5 and got just under a quarter left, really surprised how far it went.
  5. Depends what Bridgestone they are. RE050A are very good. RE040 are pretty poor.
  6. If your not getting water in the car, then it is normal. In the winter, if its damp, cold or wet out then you have to have the aircon on pretty much all the time.
  7. Cheers Rich. Its made me fall in love with them again. I may still be in contact regarding doing something with the original center caps, Thanks Will I am fussy.
  8. I believe all 3 parts of the wheel were powder coated, then the chrome effect lacquer and clear coat was painted over the powder coat.
  9. After about 3 years of needing them doing due to corrosion under the lacquer, I dropped them off at Wheel Genie in Huntingdon for a refurb. After speaking to Keith (at the WG) for a while, a decision was made on the colour, I'm an awkward git so decided on - Shadow chrome lip and dish, Black rear with Black chrome center but with the front of spokes lighter and the recesses where the split rim bolts go darker. They done a great job and I'm over the moon with them. Love the way the light effects the colour of the centers. Took the opportunity to put new MPSS tyres on all corners, new genuine OZ center caps, Muteki tuner nuts and sealed them with Gtechniq C5. Some Phone pics.....
  10. Welcome to the club. My dad's 260z is what turned me into a petrol head at a very young age.
  11. I'm interested in this, our new home has halogen downlights everywhere! in fact i just counted.... 102 x 50w ! Would like to replace them all with LED but think I might have to do a room at a time.
  12. Some info here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/57618-oil-coolers-and-oil-temps-information/
  13. Hope it sorts your water temp problem. However, as advised, if you are running an oil cooler you really need to get an oil temp gauge fitted. Even with a thermostatic sandwich plate it will flow oil long before it's stated temperature and could still be stopping the oil getting to a decent temperature, even if your water temp seems fine. What size is your oil cooler? There are people on here that have had oil running as low as 60'c on a motorway run in winter and that was on supercharged and turbo'd cars. On a standard zed (depending on cooler size) I would think you'll be running your oil a bit too cold on a run especially in winter. I'd rather have the occasional hot oil when driving hard then constantly cool.
  14. It's been a few years since I've had 452s but I'm pretty sure you can put them on any side. They have a semetrical pattern I think, and have a direction of rotation not an inside/outside. So as long as you remove the tyre and fit it to the rh wheel in the right direction it will be fine. You can't just take the lh wheel off and put it on the rh side though or the rotation will be wrong.
  15. Pm madmarky. I'm pretty sure he has lambo doors.
  16. I like it a lot! Love the 458, it's the only Ferrari I've liked since the 355 and that one is on steroids .
  17. Not sure if there is a dedicated fuse for the tc /esp. I believe the best way is to Unplug the yaw sensor (or put a switch on the power line to it) it can be found under the center consol approx where the ash tray is. This will stop the esp/tc but keep abs operational.
