  1. James your gorgeous Zed has always been my inspiration.....I just wish mine could look half as good as yours. Now this may seem rather nerdy or stalkerish but I even had in the past your car as my screensaver on my Blackberry
  2. Is that because these are the little furry, black & white fellers??? I didn't realise racoon were so skilled these days! As for the roof being wrapped in 90 mins.....you are both fairly skilled and regular modders though Bullet!
  3. Direct Windscreen services....whereabouts are they? Are they on sweetbriar? Thanks
  4. Congratulations mate......best get some sleep tonight....maybe the last night of peace you have for a while
  5. Welcome Neil....yes of course a post 06 Zed will get you more for your cash; for instance the bi-xenon headlights and the LED rear lights. On the pre 06 models you will generally only get the Xenon headlights and the standard rear lights...of course their maybe exceptions to this rule but only when the previous owner has upgraded these items! Now I always wanted these items when (I spent my 18 months) searching for my Zed but in the end the fact that the tax on a 06 model was at a rediculous level of around £460 / year rather than what I pay now around £260 / year for my 05 model just was the instigating factor. I personally couldn't justify spending this difference every year for what is a very similar car with very similar performance figures. Yes the later models do have a better bhp and torgue figures......but the tax hike is just ludicrous! The simple question you have to ask yourself at this stage is 'what do I want from my new motor?' Good luck with the search and keep in touch with how you're proceeding
  6. Welcome to the forum....GM is definitely the best colour....controversial
  7. Welcome to the forum...we're a friendly bunch
  8. Welcome to the club....we're a friendly bunch! Have fun tomorrow
  9. Thanks for the reply Alex, which points make you think I may also need a slave cylinder? Is there certain signs to look out for? If I do need a slave cylinder, how much do these cost approx.....is it another part you can supply?
  10. Cheers Bacon, its just a smaller acrylic number plate with a lot of double sided tape Was considering going down the vinyl line myself but after seeing yours I'm undecided again....have you ever had any issues with the smaller than standard size of the plate with the law?
  11. Gary the new rims look amazing, very aggressive. I think you'll only experience a problem if you stumble across a right ar**hole of an MOT tester...should be fine! One quick question....is your front number plate a vinyl or just a smaller sized acrylic version?
  12. I'm glad I read this thread because I was under the illusion that most of the members on here had their Zed as a weekend or fun motor and that in general most of these have really low mileage. I use mine as my daily driver and seem to be racking up the miles...now 74k so it makes me feel more confident about having the Zed with high mileage. Sorry slightly diverted from the topic. I love this forum
  13. I know there has been a few posts recently about clutches and the owners needing to change them...I don't know if this is just a co-incidence that these posts have been appearing regularly recently or whether it is actually because there are perhaps a lot of Zeds now approaching the kind of miles where such an item needs replacing? What I do know is this: * Clutch is very now very heavy....seems to have worsened over the past few months * Occassionally pedal gets stuck down and then thuds after its own release (generally after city driving) * Biting point very high with little pedal movement left above this point * Above biting point the pedal has a area of movement with no pressure (seemingly dead area) * Gear changes very rough and jerky and not just in 1st / 2nd * Tried a nippy pull-away on a roundabout the other day and felt as though the tyres were spinning and didnt move very quickly...to the point where traffic had to slow for me to get going (is this known as slipping?) * My Zed now on 74k miles The questions I have are: 1. Does this mean my clutch is on its way? 2. I think from reading all of the previous clutch threads, that my clutch is knackered ....but could it be something else? i.e. Slave or master cylinder? 3. If I do require a new clutch, I understand a new flywheel is advised because of the damage it may have recieved during times when the clutch has slipped....but what brand is best? I know everyone will say and I appreciate he does the Exeddy clutch and a choice of flywheels but how about a package like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/F1-RACING-STA ... 4aa8b23b80 Any advice would be greatly appreciated...I have learnt a huge amount over the past week or so about clutches from reading the other threads but I was hoping there may be a way to save a few pennies as I'm not sure how I can aford the best part of £900 - £1,000 at the moment
  14. You've seen him / her a few times all in the same area but you can't remember the colour??? Sorry but this made me laugh.
  15. Loving your look Hassanz ....with mine being a GM this certainly gives me some inspiration and definitely need to get some LED rears and the nismo spats. Might have to wait at the moment as concerned my clutch is on its last legs!
  16. I did the same....the weather yesterday was lovely, although extremely cold Although on a positive the results afterwards were certainly impressive as the polish seemed to perform well in these temperatures I think mine took about 5 hours and I didnt go into quite as much detail as you....wish I had the bi-xenon's!!! Top work Yorkshirelad
  17. Guess what I'm going to do tomorrow??? Attempt to drive to work in my new cocoon sleeping bag!!! Got to make my Monday morning drive to work more interesting!
  18. All I can say is that looks superb and you've obviously had a lot nicer weather at yours mate than we've had in Norwich.....just non stop rain so far and I really wanted to clean her today as well! Top work
  19. s1xtyn1n3 I wouldn't ever consider going to the stealers...if you're after a recommendation in Norwich you should try 'Autotest'. They're based on Hurricane way, off Fifers Lane on the Norwich airport estate (the road that goes off at a vertical from the Nissan garage!!! As you turn onto Hurrican way, follow the road round past Heatrae Sadia, past the cafe, keep following the road and don't turn off, go past Mercedes vans on your left and Autotest is situated on your right hand side just on the corner of a junction that has trees lining its verge. David the Scot who runs the place is a legend and always helps me out at the drop of a hat and squeezes me in...just this morning my Zed started to feel a little sluggish and I popped in....only calling on the way to see if he could fit me in. Same thing with mine as always and that's the heavy usage of oil every 5k miles. Nothing wrong it seems, my Zed just loves the black stuff . Another member on here 'Tobys' also takes his Zed to Autotest so they're used to servicing these motors and has the scheduling required saved for reference purposes. If you do give David a call or pop in, just tell him you were recommended by Greg! Hope this helps mate.
  20. I eventually got around to this last weekend Bullet...took a while to get to grips with the minute amount of space for the adjustment but once I got into the swing I thought I would go for massive improvement and completed a full 4 x complete turns of the bolt after about an hour....ended up on dip beam being able to see the top of a near by oak tree Whoops. Spent the whole of the next day reverting back to where I almost started with a -3 complete turns! Best improvement I've made yet and best of all it was completely free
  21. Blimey John you're on my doorstep....although I'm listed as Norwich I'm actually only 10 mins away from you! No problem meeting up sometime, perhaps once the weather improves so I can get my Zed looking a little less muddy
  22. BACON

    ITS BACK....

Did someone on here purchase the so called wreck?
