After watching the Gtr I'm flames, I remembered seeing this video of how effective a bottle of pop is at putting out a fire. The combination of releasing CO2 from the carbonated water and the propulsion of the fizz looks damn impressive. I'd probably opt for carbonated water as it'll be alot less sticky and tempting to drink

NGK and Tunnocks what are the chances?

Both are premium quality products so get a from me. -
Got this from the local bargain shop to clean the wheel barrels/backs. Basically just a noodle mitt type sleeve fitting over a thin plastic inner. Easily removed for washing. Thin enough to easily fit between my front calipers and wheel back. Long enough to comfortably clean the inside of the rear wheels. If and when the plastic inner snaps I'll try to bend a wire coat hanger as an inner........or just bin it

In fact.......those liquid shoe polish things with a squeezy bottle and foam applicator at the end would be perfect....

^that's an ingenious idea. Reminds of those clear paper glue pens the kids had with a sponge tip to apply and speed the glue. Make sure you report back if it's effective once removing the green pad

@Andy James those images look so satisfying with the gel turning the tyres glossy. I changed to a more satin look for years but I'm feeling the love for the glossy black finish again

All these years I never thought of a brush Will give one a go when my gel arrives Don't think they'd be so good with a watery dressing like Autoglym instant tyre dressing

American elections the best comedy show!

Agree Stan, the gun culture is SCARY. When the footage of large groups of armed militia taking over the streets was shown....I cringed in disbelief and terror. So glad it didn't kick off back then. -

Cons If used on fat SUV tyres in a sideways direction so the curve follows the contour of the tyre, the soft black foam delaminates from the yellow after just a few uses. Do not do this.

Seeing as I have noticed some discussion on this topic I thought I'd start a thread here for people to share their experiences. I bought a set of 5 off Amazon in 2018 https://www.amazon.co.uk/SODIAL-Professional-Automotive-Dressing-Applicator/dp/B076BCKWZB Gave 2 away. I'm on my second one. Even then it looks like it has plenty more use left. Below is the old next to a new one. Pros: Compared to the washing up sponges I was previously using they are less messy as they have a firm yellow foam handle. When used lengthways they're the perfect width for low profile tyres. The curved profile at the ends provides a nice sharp edge for detailed application where the tyre meets the rim. Less than a pound each.

Probably one of the fastest 350Zs on track?

I fou out way back that even using mineral free water to rinse away Dry and Shine, I'd get a bit of streaking left the next day when it dried naturally if I didn't towel dry after. So whenever I use it at night I use a blow dryer. Just finished a quick prewash, 2BM wash, rinse, Dry and Shine, rinse and blow dry. Tyres dressed with autoglym instant tyre dressing spray. Not the best, but tyres don't have to be bone dry to apply.

I've used Gtechniq C5 for years myself. I'm sure others may be able to recommend something newer and better/easier to use

Did you tell the detailer they are box fresh rims? I'd imagine the only prep they'd need is an IPA wipe down as there's no dirt, tar, fallout etc. Then wiping the ceramic coating on with a pad, gently wiping/buffing with a MF after, giving 24 hours to cure. Maybe have a go doing the barrels/backs first yourself and if it comes out nice then do the faces.

Those are works of art I'd have those in the lounge for a while......2 either side with a cushion between. I'd sit there resting my arms on em whilst watching TV caressing the Nismo'ness On a serious note, any thoughts on what you wanna coat them with while they're all fresh and "naked" before fitting them to your zed?

@Silverthorn If I owned your car, I'd be permanently be pumping this through the speakers
