  1. Have a chat to R35Lee,as im sure he is a really gearbox guru. I was having a few issues with mine, and as a first port of call, changed the oil and added moly slip, and its been as good as gold since. Im sure R35lee told me that the newer box in the HR engine was not compatible with the DE engine,as the housings are different.
  2. Iv had a really pants week at work, and decided to take the direct country lane route home this week, and really enjoyed the drive. Was dark,so you could see if anything was coming the other way, i know the road pretty well, and just loved being able to push the car abit more than my usual straight road way into work. I something drive Estelle's Swift Sport, and hate the lack of power in it,so know what the OP is saying, anything without the noise and power is just not cricket. When we move in 3 weeks,il enjoy just getting the Zed out when i want to drive it,as opposed to every day for the 30 mile trip each way. Though i love driving it all the time, tonight's spirited drive really highlighted what iv been missing by taking the dull way into work.
  3. Dont know about about anything else, but that aint a V2 rear spoiler.
  4. And here's another one Looks stunning! The design of the wheels isnt to my taste, but the finish of them really complements the rest of the car.

And almost certainly in stock & good to go  And same day dispatch!
  6. Strange advert that,as the 3 MPS was only FWD,it was the 6 that was 4wd. Never mind. I think they are cool cars, but way too subtle for Estelle. At some point we will go have a couple of test drives, and see what she likes. Il suggest the Ibiza cupra,Cooper S,and VXR corsa.
  7. I think it will be a 50/50 split, but we will talk about it towards the end of the year when we have both moved in and settled down abit. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. Jesus, check out them front and rear overhangs! Must admit, its certainly individual. Sort of looks like a mutated DB7 at the front.
  9. Both me and a good friend of mine are moving into new houses this year, and we have some space to keep a car. Its been a fairly long ambition of my mate to get a cheap mk1 Elise, and turn it into a trackday car. As he has little mechanical experience, this would involve input from me. So it would be a joint venture turning this car into something pretty handy round a track, and improving our own driving in the process. Has anyone had experience of doing this as a joint project at all? I know there maybe things that we wont always agree on, but accept that. We both love cars, and i know he would like to get his hands dirty abit.
  10. Good suggestion,il see what she says,i think she wants something small.
  11. Brilliant Dave, cheers! Il see what Estelle says. I suggested an MPS 3,but she said she has never been excited about the way they look. I suggested Golf etc, and she said they were too boring to look at. I think on looks alone, the VXR has it,as its alot meaner looking, not to mention abit rarer. She dont like the Clio's,so they are out too.
  12. Well i am from Essex! My mrs on the other hand is not,and shes certainly not a slapper! The other option is something an A3,but she has said that she wants something that she can look at and get excited about, and the R32 and S3 (both the older versions to get into the price bracket) dont meet that criteria.
  13. Il offer her the ST Focus, but i dont think she wants a car that big,as i did suggest the VXR Astra as well. The Mini is really good car,but the problem is that its too popular, but then that will mean that when she sells it,it maybe easier to sell. The VXR on the other hand is more exclusive, not to mention parts will probably be cheaper, but then will it be harder to sell on in a couple of years?
  14. Estelle is thinking about selling her Suzuki Swift Sport for something abit faster. We have narrowed the choice down to a Corsa VXR or Mini Cooper S (R53 due to cost) got a budget of 9k max. Has anyone got any experience good or bad of either? Also open to other suggestions, but not french. lol (PS she does not want a Zed)

    Front tyres on 19s

Just had a look, and LH side is worse than the RH side. Here you go. Passenger side Drivers side

    Front tyres on 19s

Nope, not lowered at all, running standard suspension.

    Front tyres on 19s

Inner edges or outer edges chap? Mine are the inner edges.
  20. Iv noticed the inner edges of my front tyres are starting to wear abit more than the rest of the tyre. Is this normal? Horsham did a full alignment on the car when i had new banana arm bushes fitted, (and the 19's on) and all was good. Its pretty even LH-RH side wear wise. Is this just a characteristic of running 19's? Also been advised that my fron drop links need replacing, but cant imagine they would affect the inner edges of the tyres would they?
  21. sell everything before raising it Dibs on the rear spoiler and front bumper! lol
  22. Brilliant, though more of the woman would have been nice!
