  1. Driving around MK is worse, not only do you get rubbish MPG,but your left front tyre suffers going round all the roundabouts.

    Refurb around MK

Cheers Vern. Iv contacted Terry, and getting some pictures over to him soon for him to give me a quote.
  3. Glad everyone involved was alright. Sounds like your had a nightmare with the insurance. I had a heated discussion with the same company,as the first correspondence with them they said Nissan 350z etc etc. Rang the next day to confirm the quote, all good. Paperwork arrives a few days later, with Car- Vauxhall Agila 1.2. I had to fight with them to change it at no cost to me,despite the fact that it was their screw up to start with. Luckily i could quote dates and times of people id spoke to,and eventually justice was served. Hope all goes well with getting the car sorted.

    Refurb around MK

I need my wheels refurbing, and trying to avoid Pristine in MK,as iv heard alot of bad things about them. Are there any other places that anyone can suggest.
  5. The first 4 races this season have been crazy, cant believe how close the racing is. Vettel was supreme again this weekend, the boys at the track deserve a medal for what they have managed to change on the cars over the weekend, but its worth it if we carry on like that. Im not a McLaren fan,of their culture, their cars or their staff, but they will be kicking themselves as they lost alot of points yesterday. Good to see Lotus going strong, and goes to show that after a Mercedes power white wash the last race,Renault did the same this weekend, despite still being around 30hp down on the Merc engine. Thats impressive. Whats even more impressive,is that i managed to cook a brilliant roast dinner last night after id had atleast 6 pints. Get in.
  6. That jack reminds me of the Ferrari F1 car!
  7. Estelle needs new pads on her Swift Sport, and as im not par of any forums for it, I didnt know if people had any experience with these cars and different pads. The standard ones are very dusty,so anything that can reduce that would be good, though dont want to go to Green Stuff or anything,as Estelle dont want to have to get heat in the things before they work properly.
  8. Cheers Chesterfield, thats a great post, thank you. Never knew you can get IR lamps to illuminate an area, thats a good bit of kit,and as you said, wont annoy the neighbors by coming on all the time,as we do have a cat,so thats a good idea. I need to consider what we have to spend on the system, and what we want to cover, and as said, would we be better off just sticking a dummy camera up.
  9. Im looking at getting some cameras set out around the outside of the house,as much to make Estelle feel safer,as to serve as a deterant and record any incidents. Seen some good kits in Maplin,in particular http://www.maplin.co.uk/complete-8ch-ne ... ame-589999 Can anyone advise as to what the best value for money system is,and where to buy it? Looking at 4 cameras, but like the idea of being able to expand if needed, hence the 8channel kit.
  10. Got a bottle of Krug in the end,was lovely. Shared it with my mum and her husband weekend just gone.
  11. Sounds good to me,though my Datsun is absolute state, she needs some loving, and soon.
  12. Would just like to say that after a couple of weeks away,im back, sort of. Picked the keys up for the new pad on the 23rd,and we are currently borrowing a network, as we are awaiting Sky to sort ours out, which will hopefully be this Friday. I took the opportunity on the 23rd to propose to Estelle,so we are now engaged! Strange feeling,as never been here before, but its a good feeling. That is why I was after the champagne, even though we didnt drink it that night. Anyway, doubt you missed me,but im back now. Moved to Milton Keynes now, just by Willen Lake,so if any members want to meet up at some point, then iv changed regions, and about in MK all the time now.
  13. Well tomorrow (just) is the dawn of a new era. We get the keys to our new house! Hopefully the day will be special, though im the only one off work, Estelle should finish at lunch time,so got a few things to sort out, then she is off to America on Sunday morning! Abit nervous, but also excited. The bulk of the stuff will be moved on Saturday, then we have 2 weeks to get our old house before tenants move in.
  14. Hey Jez, is your cubby the retractable one,or are you keeping that along with the dash?
  15. Replacing the drop links chap. Zmanalex sells revised fronts that are more robust than the ones that were fitted to UK cars, thats what i went for. Id say its worth a punt,as its the cheaper option, and they will need replacing at some point anyway. If that fails, then get the banana arm bushes replaced.
  16. Sorry, been away from this for a while. Looking forward to the race this weekend, though moving into our new house tomorrow, which happens to be 3 miles from work! May pop into work sunday morning and watch the race there.
  17. Id say if your car has done around 50k,then this is a good replacement, and alot cheaper than getting the banana arm bushed replaced,as that involves 4 wheel alignment etc after.
  18. I replaced my front drop links the other week on the road. Jacked one side of the car up,then got the central jacking point up,and whole front on axle stands. Took 2 hours to do,with alot of faffing around by me in between. Made a real difference to the handling, though mine were knocking like mad. One thing il point out when undoing the bottom nut,the one that faces you when you look under the car. There is an allen key recess in the bolt, dont bother using this, there is a large nut on the back of the link, near the bush. Get a spanner on this, and a spanner on the nut,and undo the nut a little, then the bolt will start to spin,so get the spanner on the back nut and hold that while undoing the nut on the front. The top mount also has a locating piece of angle on it,that will want to spin round when you are undoing the nut,so screw driver or something similar comes in handing to jam under it to stop this. If i was to do it again,i think i could do it in an hour for both sides, just make sure you have a breaker bar at hand, cause them nuts will be tight, and corroded. I used a load of Freeze spray first, then WD40 on the nuts to loosen them up abit. Hope this helps. Dont be afraid to do it on the street, you should be fine. Hope this helps
  19. Wash your car at work, or pay someone to do it for you are all acceptable according to the website
  20. Just found out that there is going to be a hose pipe ban as from 5th of April!
  21. Round the corner from my mums place, saw a GT spec Ginger coupe, with a Tigger spec number plate, looked very clean.
  22. Well I had a tip off yesterday that Costco sell Krug, sink rang them and yes they sell Dom P,Krug, and Cristal, all at a very good price! Cheaper than what iv found online!
  23. I had no idea Threshers was still going! Where are you based? I went into Waitrose earlier and they dont sell it in the shop in Brackley
