  1. I have a special pair of Puma shoes that were work travel issue in 2009. They look abit like this http://www.shop.puma.co.uk/Men%27s-Moto ... ribbon_red But are leather and have 2 velcro straps. They were never sold (that I could find, label inside says Red Bull F1,Motorsport sample) but are amazing for driving in,and i use them when I do long trips or track days. Try not to wear them too much,as i dont want to throw them away.
  2. I live in Middleton and have a Scorpion with uprated Y pipe.
  3. Guessing most of the car harness has to be changed,or is it just the ECU and engine harness?
  4. But you cant replace a DE engined car with an HR engine right?
  5. A guy at work has a 1.4 TDI Polo, and says it costs him £50 to fill up,and he will get 600 miles from it,he travels back to Devon every weekend.
  6. That was the MSV Drift day at Oulton Park that did that! Most people cant believe i let my car get that dirty,as they know how precious i am of it. Was an awesome day though, despite putting some big scratches in my rear bumper. Most of which have now been removed.
  7. No stop start technology,no direct injection or cylinder deactivation, and still 30 mpg on a long run,not too bad at all. And THAT soundtrack!
  8. I hate that, when you see someone a long way behind the car in front, but as soon as that car in front touches the brakes, thats it,emergency stop time! Really gets me riled up,as thats what causes accidents and jams! I keep a safe distance from the car in front, but if the lights come on, I assess how much the car is slowing down,if at all really, and adjust,or not,my position accordingly. There should be no real need to use the brakes on the motorway, unless all the cars have stopped. I just use the cruise control button to keep my position. Best iv seen on a run to Cornwall was 32mpg.
  9. Not the best or my favourite pics, but spent a good 24 hours working on the Datsun, and pretty impressed with the results. Here are few pics before wax And this is what it looked like before.

    Rear pads gone!!

Labour costs for me changing disks and pads is free! (i do it myself )
  11. Had started to go through them, they are all amusing. Its the way he just tailors his right foot to the other car,and just whoops them all.
  12. I think the colour of the car adds atleast 50hp. Just watched this on ATV,and the noise of the thing is pretty awesome. AZURE FTW

    Bargain!

One of the nicest spoilers for the Zed out there, good effort.
  14. Do you run slicks Alex,or track tyres like 040,s or 888?
  15. Went for Toyo T1R's as replacements for the GSD's,and they seem pretty good, similar price too. Would be nice to lower the seat 50mm or so,but its all part of the car. I think every car has niggles and the odd issue. Its a great little car,and Evo gave it great reviews after 6 months of owning one, which is a good sign. I did find brake discs hard to come by, the only ones i could get were original Suzuki ones, though you can get a variety of pads. Id also check the rear beam too,as its very clearly stated that it should not be used to jack the car up,as you can on most cars with a rear beam. So check this for damage.
  16. My partner got one from new,58 plate. The only reliability issue she has had, is that the emissions light kept coming on,and she had the occasional time when it would start on 2nd attempt, not first. Took it into the dealership and they replaced the cat, which is part of the manifold,so was a big job. Luckily was still within warranty,so didnt cost anything. Maybe it was the short ish trips she kept doing, the dealership hadnt come across the issue before,so maybe just a one off. When the car was new,the brakes never felt great, but the dealership bled the brakes a few times, and they were alot better, even better now she has Greenstuff pads in there. The other issue she had was the wheels corroding from the back of the spokes and bubbling up the spokes. These were replaced under warranty too,so maybe keep an eye out for that. Other than that, she had a couple of squeaky trim issues, but thats it. The car has been really good and reliable. One thing i will say,is that its not great on a long run,its abit busy and noisy as its only a 5 speed box. (The mk2 has a 6 speed box) Its a great little car though, i drive it from time to time on my own,and its great to throw around the roundabouts of MK,and it has enough power to make things fun. Any questions, just ask.
  17. Im sorry, but i thought it looks very sweet as you had it before the rework. Fair play for making the car individual though.
  18. Maybe try pumping the brake pedal abit and releasing and putting the handbrake on a few times to loosen anything. I doubt a damaged seal on the calipers would cause the brakes to seize on. Maybe take the fluid cap off,and see if you can prize the pistons on the caliper apart abit, and see if that helps.
  19. I remember when i picked mine up, was such a great day, hardly slept the night before because i was so excited. Still love the car now, even after nearly 2 years. Love the noise of it most, and that its a rare sight on the UK roads
  20. How hard have you tried to move the car? I left mine on axle stands for a week with the wheels off while i detailed the car. The first time i tried to move the car it wouldnt have it, (using just the clutch) I had to give it a few k of revs and force it to move. Maybe worth giving it some more ooomph and see how you get on. Well thats what id do.
  21. We shall see what state it it arrives in,itl need a repaint,so may go with something like my blue Typhoon intake pipe, happens to be very close match to Azure. Or i may just do it black,we shall see. Will i need the Uprev straight after fitting,or will i get away without one for the time being?
  22. Not the prettiest thing in the world il admit, but il what gains it gives after its been stripped, crack checked and painted.
