  1. I cant see him going to Merc to be honest. Like you said,he wont leave a team like McLaren for anything other than a championship winning team, though I doubt we will ever sign him, even if Mark does retire at the end of next year, and he wont go to Ferrari as Alonso is there. Where else will he go? I doubt Lotus will be able to afford him, especially if Kimi is there at the same time, there budget isnt big enough. I cant see him having alot of choice to be honest,he will probably be at McLaren for atleast another 2 years. How the tides have turned. It wasnt long ago that Hamilton was saying he would never leave McLaren, now we have dummy spitting tweets and all sorts!
  2. You will wish you had signed up for the whole day. Its great fun,and so addictive, always chasing the perfect lap,and pushing to see how fast or how late you can go.

I know they are pretty cheap, but was just wondering if anyone had tried a set in comparison to say the DS2500? I want the brakes to work on the road, but also be good on a track day or 2.

Pinch some brakes from work? Believe me,iv eyed them up! Though the carbon brakes with carbon pads may need blow torches in the arches to warm them up properly first. The 'carbon' brakes on most sports car are actually composite carbon (i know carbon is a composite in its own right) as pure carbon brakes dont get anywhere near hot enough to perform properly.
  5. Im not awake yet, sorry,il get my coat......

Looking at getting some new front pads as my DS2500's are getting abit low and iv a track day at the end of October at Bedford. Seen a couple of threads about EBC not being up to the task, but thats generally regarding Green Stuff and Yellow Stuff pads. Has anyone actually used the Blue Stuff pads at all,and wish to comment?
  7. Same sort of issue I believe viewtopic.php?f=59&t=65481
  8. As in take them apart,or sell one hand on its own? Dont really want to split the pair up to be honest.
  9. But do you have a heated front screen? I had my windscreen replaced, and im pretty sure its not heated.
  10. Obviously another option that Nissan UK never gave us! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350Z-F ... 1134wt_960
  11. It really bugs me not having auto up and down windows for the passenger side. How easy is it to get JDM switches?
  12. Car will look immense Adrian, fair play. Can I ask why you are having a full respray before having the car wrapped? Or have I misread something? Keep the calipers the same colour as the car,the photoshop looks really good with them behind the black wheels
  13. Results from last night and a small play today, starting to look much better already. The inside is much smoother now,and although there are a couple of score marks where I was blending in bits, they look far worse than they are.
  14. Getting rid of these as now have shiny clear ones. In great condition, cant see a mark on them, and would be perfect for doing a fog light clear out or maybe an LED conversion. Looking for £50 +P+P,but open to sensible offers I took the pictures yesterday but didnt get a chance to put them up,hope thats ok.
  15. Mine has the occasional squeak when cold, had all the tensioners etc checked and AMS pulleys tightened, but was told that it was the pulleys more than anything else, car runs sweet all the time, and hasnt used a drop of oil between services. And thats even after a couple of track days.
  16. Ok,iv looked at both of them in detail. Yes Grojean's move was aggressive, he saw that Lewis was gaining on him and he moved over to defend the line,as he is entitled to do. He left Lewis a car width of space on the track (just) and they just touched, but that was enough. Grojean was being very aggressive yes and the accident that resulted was very serious, and luckily no one was hurt. I think if it had just been Hamilton and Grojean, then it would have been a racing incident, at worst a drive through for Romain, but it was the catalyst for a huge pie up. If you compare that with what Michael did to Rubens last year I think, when he closed him against the wall, that move was alot more serious, coupled with the speed they were going. I still think that Hamilton could have done a little bit more to prevent the crash, but as a racing driver,he didnt want to change line and relinquish the position. It dont matter what I think though does it, the stewards have made their decision and imposed what they feel is the appropriate penalty. So ultimately that tells you everything you need to know. I just think that if lewis had moved across to the right and used all of the track, then the accident wouldnt have happened.
  17. Id be having a word with the place you got them from, the front packet is one short!
  18. Il have a look at the footage again, and see if that changes my mind. I went with my gut instinct watching it live and the replays at the time with a beer in my hand,so il take another look. Im not afraid to admit im wrong,it happened once before. Totally agree with the chance that d'Ambrosio has got though. The trouble we have at the moment is that there is very little chance for reserve/ young drivers to get experience. I know they have the Abu Dhabi test at the end of the season, but thats 3 days in a whole year. Maybe they could arrange another young driver test at the last race before the August shut down.
  19. Sorry, but got to ask what the goggles are for? Were you expecting it to spurt you in the eye or something? On a serious note, hope you get it sorted ok. If its a metal tank, I see no reason why it just cant be welded up and reused. Providing the welding is good.
  20. Well its been sat in my garage for a while now, and today thought it was a good idea to have a good look at it,and see what i was dealing with. Must say for something that is reasonably expensive, the actual quality of it is poor. The split lines from the mould on the component are very rough, and there is a slight moulding mismatch in some areas. Decided that having all this wasnt really good enough,so decided to get to work tidying up the split lines and improving the finish. I took a couple of pictures before I started working on it so you could see what I was talking about. This picture is of an area just as the air comes into the main chamber. And this is just after the throttle body As you can see, some pretty serious steps, and all this in an area where air flow is important. Also decided/agreed that the actual look of the plenum was pretty pants, so have decided to do something about that too,and to maybe make the plenum look abit more standard in appearance. Stayed after work tonight and removed one large area that already has improved the look, pictures to follow tomorrow. The plastic that this is made from is abit of a pig to work with, when you use any sort of power tool on it, it just melts,so you have to go slowly with it.
  21. Amazing effort and patience, and im sure once they are all working as they should you will think it was worth it. Certainly look good on the car with the black wheels.
