  1. Makesure you take them to a place that knows what they are doing regarding fitting the tyres. Iv had 2 places that claim they can do it no problem, (same size wheels and tryes) and both of them have marked the wheels getting the tyres on.
  2. Any suggestions as to the best course of action when using these ramps? Ramps in question.http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... zone=PLPz1
  3. Hello and welcome. Im in MK,so if you ever want to meet up,or need some help with anything, like looking at cars or maintenance etc, just give me a shout. Im 2 minutes from jnc 14 of the m1
  4. Thats a good idea,as the weight of the car on the straps will hold the ramp in place while i drive up it. Thought that by having 4 of these ramps, I could simply drive up them, and just the car up either end to get the wheels off and clean them.
  5. Wanted to use these ramps to make my life easier for jacking the car up. If i jack the car up,then its pointless using the ramps,i may as well just put axle stands straight under it. Wanted to avoid using the jack 4x to get axle stands under it. Thought these ramps would mean i could just jack the car up twice and that would be it.
  6. I tried to get the car on to them caravan level up ramps earlier, both ends, and failed miserably! I put some chocks behind the ramps on the front,as the car wouldn't go up them, just move them forward. Then, the back wheels decided that they would gobble up the ramps and spit them quite violently under the wheels and out the back. This happens twice, then I gave up. What's the best way to get the car up on these ramps,as it was very frustrating.
  7. Its a very strange place to be,but for a weekend, its pretty darn incredible.
  8. Sorry to see the damage to your car, must have scared the hell out of you. Iv done a couple of events at Bedford, and that corner can be taken with just a small lift before you turn in,maybe even flat if your brave and confident. Maybe there was something on the track that you hit, that caused you to loose grip,if you were off line slightly that could have compounded the issue. I dont think it should cost you 4k to repair to be honest, but as others have said, depends on the extent of the damage to crash bars etc.
  9. Well done Colin, good find. Looks like it was rarer than i thought then. Nearly half a million Euro for a 911 though!
  10. No idea, thought it was a homologation special or something. Couldnt get around it to look properly as it was too busy.
  11. It's an RSR. I'm with Dan. Really doesn't look good in pics in those colours. In the flesh it might have been awesome though! Really? I thought it looked pretty sexy in them colours. Good spot,it certainly was an RS-R. Not my cup of tea.
  12. Lotus Carlton FTW without a doubt, certainly the only one i saw out there, you cant say that about Ferraris,Bentleys,Porsches etc, even saw a few Rolls Royce. No Zonda's though, which is a shame,as was hoping to see one.
  13. Really? I thought it looked pretty sexy in them colours.
  14. Well,i was very fortunate this year to be working out in Monaco for the GP,and managed to stay for the race, where last year I came home straight after qualifying. Thought id share my photos with you all.
  15. Id also imagine that some, even if its a consultancy firm, would be involved with some FEA work when it comes to things like this. Same as designing wheels etc.
  16. BTW,if anyone wants anything NDT'd,then feel free to sent it to me,i have all the facilities to ultrasonically check carbon and metal,as well as full fluorescent dye pen and mag.
  17. Iv had that picture nearly 7 years now, see, I was obviously into Zeds before I even knew it! lol
  18. Exactly like this,an earlier version with the vented bonnet. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3529575.htm
  19. The 575 is meant to be much better than the 550,but your dreaming even more then! lol I really like the 456 GT with a manual box. Though again, couldnt afford to buy or run one.
  20. I must admit,iv not had any experience in the last 15 years of the NHS directly, but recently, one of my nans had a stroke, which she has now fully recovered from, but while she was in hospital recovering, they discovered bow cancer. She had her operation last week, and today was released from hospital, not back to full health, but getting there. She is nearly 82!! My other nan has been in hospital recently after a fall, and although she is now in a care home for rehabilitation, (which is actually very nice) she was and has been well looked after by the system. To be honest,id be happy to pay as I use, which is what happens in the USA i believe. Though i have been lucky and never broken anything,or had a serious illness other than Asthma as a child. I get the Norwich union cover through work, but regardless,id still rather pay for private than use the NHS.
  21. That is pretty darn tasty. But,id still rather have.........
  22. Red against white are the highest contrasting colours to the human eye, looks pretty cool to me.
  23. Sorry iv not contributed to this earlier, just seen the issues with the fibre glass bubbling. This is due to poor laminating of the part from the beginning. The reason you are getting bubbles in the top coat (known as gel coat) is because the fibre glass under it is not consolidated with it. (Generally most areas are rolled when the matting is wet out to consolidate it against the gel coat, but stippling with a brush in smaller areas and using your finger in corners are other ways) Iv done some work with a place that used to (not sure if they still do) make FRP parts for car modding company in Essex. Everything is bare minimum, resin, matting, time spent laminating and trimming,as the company that makes them relies on high turn over of parts, rather than making a few good parts at a higher price to sell to companies who market them. Who wants to pay more than they have to right? Iv got a fair amount of experience in composites, so any questions regarding it please feel free to fire my way. If you have any bubbles in the gel coat, then really they need to be dug out,and filled with gel coat, filler will do,but get coat is better, and more viscous,so you will have less chance of them reappearing. Sorry about the long response, and hope that the car gets sorted and to a high standard.
  24. Cosworth also do cylinder heads for the VQ35,maybe worth giving them a call.
  25. Looks awesome Jordan, was wondering when you were going to get pics up. Does make me want to spend a few ££££ to get mine up to scratch. Though i have a wedding and mods to a new house to pay for first. Dont worry about that lip coming off, trust me when i say that it wont! lol
