  1. My commute is 30 miles each way,iv lived with my Datsun for 18 months and done alot of miles. I usually drive where ever we go at the weekend too,as i enjoy the experience so much. Gone through some consumables, but love it. Though must admit, looking forward to cutting down on the mileage when i move 3 miles from work. Means i can save money and get it looking as i want.
  2. Well if the only car that can challenge Vettel is Webber, then il be happy.
  3. Bugger, sorry guys, but thankyou for your leniency on this occasion. As for my work mates, well,i cant comment,if the car is a championship winner, there is nothing we can do about it.
  4. Moving house in 5 weeks, and sorting out the garage found a few bits people may like. Specteral Blue Ph1 GSI Mk3 Astra spoiler with inner liner. Has 2 clips broken off,but will bond these back on with structural adhesive (3m 9323) looking for £50 ono. Have a set of 17" Kosei Double Racer alloys. These come with spigot rings for a mk3 Astra(4 stud) and went straight on,though they are multistud fitment. Looked pretty darn good. All wheels need a refurb due to damage and kerbing. Have 2 good tyres (Avon ZV3's) and 2 tyres that will need replacing pretty soon. Looking for £100 collected. These wheels are/were not cheap rubbish. A pair of Vauxhall Z18XE cam shafts, totally standard, great to get reprofiled for higher lift. In good condition, came off my mk4 Coupe. £30 Next up a VDO CDR500. Great head unit, was working fine when removed form the car. Good non blingy upgrade, comes with cage and code. £50. Not sure if they are of interest, but have some German Style metal number plates for show use on an Astra SE2 Mk4 coupe. Open to offers around £30 Please get in contact if you are interested in any bits, reasonable offers considered. Parts are located in Brackley Northants, but can take small stuff to Milton Keynes.
  5. Cheers guys, should have got the new one out the garage and had a look, but was being lazy.
  6. Iv searched the guides, and used the search function, but cant seem to find how to remove and replace the retractable cup holder just above the 12v socket on the passenger side. Can anyone help?
  7. What the heck is that sticking out of the beam wing going to the area just under the air exit hole? Looks like some sort of duct,on the Sauber.
  8. Scarbs F1 is a very good source of technical knowledge, and certainly explains what McLaren have gone for over everyone else. Be interesting to see what STR come up with,as i think their side pod idea last season was a pretty good one,and im sure they will be looking to develop on that. Im sorry that the RB8 is not a great looker, but if its as fast as it is ugly,we will be alright! lol

    Falken 912?

Gsd3 arent fantastic in the wet but the F1a2's are much better. Dry grip IMO couldnt have been better but sometimes different tyres suit different cars and driving styles. All depends on the drive and weight and handling of the car they are on. Thats why i was trying not to preach too, just give experience of what car i had them on. They maybe fine on a Zed,but i did find the wet weather grip alot lower than the Hankook Evo's and the 452's.
  10. Always loved these cars! Id never own one,but what a fantastic car, looks as immaculate as you said too, fair play. Sounds pretty tasty also.
  11. Im sure it wont be long before someone makes one to fit the Karcher, without the price. I agree, they are abit on the expensive side, but its not a huge expense for what it is,well i dont think so. Karcher equipment is never that cheap anyway.
  12. Thought it was 007+009? Wanted to go this year, but moving house took priority. Prodrives effort last year was dire. They left it all too late to develop the car and engine. When during testing the steering wheel breaks due to getting abit wet,and engines blowing up on dynos after a few miles,it was never going to be anything but. Its such a shame,as Aston/Prodrive have a massive following,we both used to work there,so cheer them on when we can. We were in the garage when they decided to retire the 2nd car,and everyone was so frustrated.
  13. Yep,thought it was pretty good, just what you need at this time of year, with all this salt and crap on the roads. Probably only need to use it a couple of times a year, but still good.
  14. Saw in Evo this month that Karcher now do a little trolley thing for sliding under the car to clean it! Great little device, shall be getting one at some point. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Karcher-Backord ... 033&sr=8-1
  15. A camera to take photos for us........

Sorry, but going to throw a spanner here,i never rated the GSD3 on my Mk4 Astra, and i had a fair few tyres on that, the 452,s probably being the best. I found the GSD's were alright in the dry,but pretty poor in the wet conditions. Admittedly this was on a modest powered Astra Coupe, but found the Hankook Evo's better than the GSD's. Personally,id go for the Hankooks, but then id also trust that someone having had them on a powerful ish RWD car says they are alright, then they are alright.
  17. Possible ABS sensor causing handbrake light etc.
  18. Happy Birthday you McLaren loving dirt bag! Hope you have a great day.
  19. Just wait till you see our version! The Ferrari cant possibly continue to look like that, they will come up with something better,i hope to god! Atleast the Force India has lumps on the outer edges,so you loose the large step look.
  20. Fantastic effort chaps, well done. Bet you cant wait to assemble it all and get it on the road.
  21. Couldn't resist - hope its not the same KERS as last years that certainly, as far as it seems Mark was cocerned, was more off than on There were alot of issues at the start of the year. Even Newey said that after 2 laps of the race, the would switch it off at the start of the year,as it would just overheat. Latter part of the year though proved a big step forward, and we ran it reliably with no overheating issues. Its not just the components though, the KERS team have got better in understanding what can be done to keep it optimised and how to fix issues. Marks car did seem to suffer more id admit, but as far as we were concerned, all the parts pass the same quality tests. It was probably because Seb was in clear air most of the time, and when running behind other cars, you dont get that. Hopefully this year,KERS will not be an issue. Just make sure that if Vettel has won all the races up until the last one again, you dont come up with a **** and bull story that he's suddenly got a serious gearbox issue from lap 5 so that it gives Webber the chance of victory! Serious gerbox problem my arse! It ended up doing the full 71 laps! Meanwhile at Mclaren "Lewis you have a serious gearbox problem" a few laps later it expired! BTW i am only yanking your chain There is/was alot of speculation about that issue. I was there, and i have a video of both cars in the garage after the race, with Renault playing with both engines, with the help of some of the team. I saw the oil dripping out of the gearbox of Sebs car,and its very obvious that there was no manipulation of the results at all. If Seb hadnt of backed off,he wouldnt have finished the race. I want Mark to have a great season, hes a great guy,and pulled off an overtake in Spa that was just as brave as Sebs was 2 weeks later in Monza. he deserves a good season, and everyone is hoping that the only other car that can rival Sebs,is the one at the other side of the garage.
  22. To be honest, you will find most aircraft will have defects in their primary and secondary structures. Its probably because its such a high profile aircraft that people are making more of a meal of it. I would feel safer flying on an A380,than i did on the 747 i flew to Thailand on! That thing didnt even have screens in the head rests, only projector screens on the bulkheads, thats how old it was!

  24. Sorry, but i disagree. McLaren have got a totally redesigned car for this year, and they will have and will continue to throw everything at it. It may not look a massive change, other than the side pods, but it is,and McLaren never want to do anything other than win, especially as they have only had one championship trophy since Wingemarsh took over. They are like a military operation. I totally expect them to be alot closer to us than they were last year. I think Merc GP will make good progress this year,as will Ferrari and Renault. I wouldnt write Kimi off for a second. Personally,if we wernt to win,id rather it be a scarlet car than a silver one. Caterham should be more midfield this year,as they have our KERS and gearbox from last year,so that will boost their performance alot. I just Williams can have a better season than they did last year.
