  1. Dont just look at how much lower it is, but also how much further it sticks forward, as that will also affect if its clears speed humps etc.
  2. One thing i would say, is I would go for heavy duty bolts. The LW ally bolts iv found work themselves loose with expansion and contraction. I think I got mine from Rare Rims at a great price.
  3. Hi and welcome. Will keep an eye out for you over xmas, as my mum lives in Leigh, so pass through Benfleet on my way to se her, and will be down over xmas.
  4. Got to say, iv been lucky enough to go to Monaco, Spa and Brazil for the GP, and have to say that Brazil is an amazing track, and would have had that up there too. Just look at the past couple of years the carnage the weather has caused, not to mention the actual tracking being a real drivers circuit. Monaco is great yes, its an amazing spectacle, but the racing is a little dull (im a die hard F1 fan) Spa should also be up there, as that is a track like nothing else, and there will never be another one made like that ever. Havnt been to Japan, so cant comment, but the track always serves up a great race, and there are always crashes at Degna or somewhere else, but 130R isnt the challenge it once was, though maybe this year it will be with the new cars and the lower downforce.
  5. Seen loads of Infiniti's around work, and think the G37 CC is one of the best looking CC's going to be honest, its a really good looking car. Not a fan of the rest of the range to be honest
  6. Cheers, it was filthy to be honest, and still is, needs a good wash. Yours looked clean!
  7. It was dark, and i was concentrating on driving, albeit slowly. Agree its nice to have a wave back, my wIfe laughed and said "FRIEND" while giving the double thumbs up.
  8. Saw a standard Silver/GM on the M6 in slow moving traffic on Friday night, got an wave back, I was in my Azure. Also saw a 06 cabby parked in the NCP next to the Holiday Inn/Radison in Birmingham, was parked over night, again Silver/GM (Sorry but unless they are side by side, i forget which colour is which)
  9. Well reserving proper judgement till iv done a few miles on them, but hopefully they will last longer than the Falkens did. Do you regard the GSD3's and F1AS2's in the same ball park as the MPSS then?
  10. Will probably be better than running a set of 452's with 3mm of tread on them
  11. Just thought id spark another debate around the same issue. Iv always left my car to warm when iv moved it.
  12. Makes interesting reading this tread. (Just started a new one on exactly the same topic). Can I throw something else into the mix. What if you need to move a car on the driveway, would you start it up, move it, and turn it off again? Got to say, iv always warmed the car up before driving off, as I thought it was good practice, even in the summer. Be interesting to know what credentials people have for giving out the "dont do it" "do do it", and where they have gained their knowledge. Alot of people claim to be experts, but the amount of people that actually are, is far fewer

    Warming up

Had a debate at work the other day, as to what the best method of warming the car up is. Some were saying that its best to let it idle first, (im in this camp) and some say that its best to just get in and drive it, taking it easy for the first few miles. Just interested in what people on here thought, as im sure most of you know more about cars than some of the people I work with.
  15. Well got them fiited at lunch time, and have to say that I really like the look of them. (I know this is irrelvant). But because they have a rim protector on them, they appear wider than they actually are, and as a result appear less stretched. Only driven 5 miles on them, so cant make too much of a judgement. However, there does appear to be more communication through the steering wheel for is going on, which is nice. Going to take a few miles to get rid of the mould release, but going to Birmingham tomorrow, so hope that will do the job. Will be posting my 452's for sale shortly, if anyone is interested. Rears have a few mm left, fronts have loads left. Will report back after the weekend with how the tyres are feeling.
  16. Well as I couldnt stretch to summer and winter tyres, i figured that having brand new tyres in general is better than having some with only a few mm of tread left. Drove all through winter 2011 with new Falken 452's and survived, so hoping to do the same with the MPSS'ssssss
  17. I found that with 19" wheels on, my car did tramline a little more, and the steering felt slighty beefier, and the ride slightly more fidgety. The upside is great traction, and looks, however, the 18" Rays are really light, and as said, if you were going to track it on a regular basis, then id stick with the 18". Tyres are cheaper for 18" too. You would need to spend serious money to get 19" wheels anywhere near as light as the Rays.
  18. Well not much tread on my rear 452's, and thinking that as its winter, it would be a good idea to get some new boots all round.
  19. Currently have Falken 452's, and always thought they were great, so looking forward to seeing what these are like
  20. Well i ripped both heat shields off, and still had the rattle, was only replacing them that got rid of the noise.
  21. Just taken the plunge on a full set of MPSS, to replace the Falken 452's currently on my car. Thought id try out what everyone raves about, and got a good price at Hi Q fully fitted for £910, Tyre Universe wanted £850, but then id need to get them to somewhere to be fitted, which is £15-20 a corner, so to save all the transport hassle etc, thought this was a good deal. Not ideal just before xmas, but nevermind. Will be interesting to see what they are like.
  22. Amazing job there, great effort! Just wondered, whats your technique for making sure you dress all the rubber trim, but dont get the product on the paint work? Or do you, and just wipe if off with QD?
  23. I had a strange rattle sound coming from what I thought was the dash, or at the back of the engine. Replaced the Y pipe and Cats, and the rattle has gone. Maybe its one/both of these, though I hope for your sake not.
