I did a cycle proficancy test many many years ago, that taught me hand signals (not gestures) and the highway code. Im sure most people who ride push bikes never did this. I agree that lots of people on pushbikes act like idiots, I live in Milton Keynes, which has a brilliant cycle path system, yet see loads of people riding their bikes on the roads, or even worse, on the cycle paths without a bell, so you have no idea they are coming until its too late

Iv dont a couple of track days, my first with standard discs and pads, and one where I thought my new DBA discs and DS2500 set up was crap. I got the disks skimmed by Disc Skimmers on the forum, and was amazed at the difference. Brakes felt like id expected them to,incredible. If your discs are not warped, id be amazed, as if the calipers are getting that hot, then the disc must be too. Iv only ever done one cool down lap on my track days, as I thought that was all that was needed to be honest, and mine have never had smoke billowing out of them or the calipers changing colour. Id contact Disc skimmers and see if they can help you out.

They are around £400 new, and then painting on top, its a not a cheap mod, but very nice. If you PM Clarke Motorsport, they will be able to sort you out.

True, the 350 system looked and sounded pretty good, but the 370 one just doesn't seem to have the same build quality. Shame really as the one I had on my 350 went on so easy, perfect fit and finish all round, and if that and the looks had been carried over to the 370 version then I would have got one. I went to FOS a couple of years ago, and went to have a look at the Milltek stand they had there, with loads of exhausts on display. Was shocked my the quality of them all except the really expensive 911 Turbo, Ferrari etc ones. Looked like the apprentice had used them to practice their welding skills. Certainly would have sent it back if id got one and it had arrived looking like that.

Got to ask the question, why is the show and shine on the Sunday, after all the driving etc, would it not be more logical to do it saturday morning or something, so that the cars are relatively clean?

Anything aftermarket will be louder than the standard exhaust. No idea why they made the 350/370 so quiet. Iv just fitted Invidia high flow cats to my Scorpion exhaust,which i already loved, and now love it even more. The Cobra exhaust also sounds sweet,a friend of mine has one on his Zed with standard everything else. Unless your going big bucks, id get the Cobra or Scorpion and replace the Y pipe at the same time. These are the other weak link in the system along with the flange.

Ah suppose the old Lambo V12's were transverse, and the gearbox was mounted in a weird way, which would make putting it in something like that abit more practical than a longitudinal engine and box

Is that a Ferrari flat 12 from a 512 etc? Just looking at the width and the noise. Any build spec?

Epic car control at the bus top chicane at the end of the lap! True legend. We worked out on average today that an F1 driver changes gear around 1.2-1.3 times per second over teh course of a season. Obviously at circuits like Monaco and Singapore you change more, and Monza etc you change less, but still an awesome stat.

Standards cats an my unresonated Scorpion were not even 90db. My friend has an Elise that is totally mental noise wise, we had to put the cat back in it during the lunch break to get ut through the noise limit. That thing was stupid, and that was 106db. Christ knows what 115 is like!

Iv just fitted a pair of Invidia HFC's, and a Stillen y pipe. Tone is now deeper, but wouldnt have said louder. Iv got a non resonated Scorpion, and with a cheap Y pipe and standard cats the car was just under 90dB. Id say it possibly a little closer to 90 now, but not much. The Invidia's are really well made, quality bit of kit, and i havnt got a raspy sound,iv got a kind of hiss that i love and sounds like im running booooooooost.

Forgot to mention that there is no need for the bracket that supports the cats, it bolts up where the O2 sensors plug in. Guessing this is pretty standard. Had not check lights or anything come on either which is good news. Never know with things like this when you start moving and replacing other bits.

This sounds excellent. Il have a chat to the wife and see if she wants to come or not, and go from there. Probably wont camp though, as just turned 30 and i like my luxuries! lol

Ah ok fair enough. Suppose there are lots of options on things, and like you say, just depends what you want and what you use the car for.

Absolutely amazing effortt there lads, and with all that you achieved, you still didnt manage to fit silver indicator bulbs! lol Great weekend by the sounds and looks of it, what a great place the forum is! Am i allowed to ask the total cost of the conversion including parts etc?
