  1. I think APR make functional rear wings and front splitters for the 350z http://www.aprperformance.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=134&Itemid=44
  2. The airflow meter bolts into a plastic pipes as standard which isolates the AFM from heat soak, if you bolt the AFM into an alloy pipe we find the inlet temps stay higher as the incoming air takes longer to cool the pipe. This may only make 2/3 bhp difference but with what we are chasing with these cars every little helps. I was intending on keeping the stock plastic bit that holds the airflow meter and just replace the intake tube. Would this still cause a small loss in hp?
  3. Yes but an stock inlet tube keeps the air inlet temp at a more reasonable level which helps a lot , stock airbox also gives better part throttle response as well, Dont think Nissan spent a fortune on something that wouldn't work would they!!!!!! I currently have the stock 06+ intake with the standard plastic intake tube but i was considering replacing the intake tube with the arc polished pipe (still using standard 06+ intake box). Are you saying that even replacing just the intake tube can negatively affect performance?

    new bmw x3

How many slightly different version of an off roader do BMW really think we need? X1, X3, X5 and the X6
  5. Is there much difference between the Berk de-cats and the Motordyne resonated de-cats in terms of performance gains?
  6. Yes, that and the fact there also selling plutonium!
  7. Damn it, got my hopes up for a moment there. 60p/litre for super unleaded, if only
  8. Hmm, seems a bit too good to be true! Just tried it but it doesn't let you put anything in the basket EDIT: Oops, my bad
  9. My dyno runs were done with the bonnett up and a large industrial fan blowing so I don't think heat soak would've been an issue. The engine bay will always be hot whether you are moving or not which is why the standard intake has a proper sealed box, not just an exposed cone filter. I had a long chat with the Paul at RS tuning about this at the time and he reckoned that pretty much all after market filters were less efficient that the standard air intakes.
  10. I had a HKS Racing Suction until recently. My honest opinion is that it looks awesome and sounds even better than it looks. BUT, when I got on a dyno and compared it to the stock (06+) intake I found it was losing me about 4hp consistently through the rev range so I ended up going back to stock. 4hp isn't much in the grand sceme of things, but for me, it's 4hp I don't want to pay good money to loose! Okay cheers for that info, I am surprised it lost you 4hp, maybe there was a problem with the installation. I think I would do the same, you don't expect to lose power with a HKS part usually! I like the HKS but now I am thinking maybe K&N typhoon, pop charger or the stock 06+ intake. Nope, no problem with installation. Aftermarket filters just don't flow as well as as the standard intake.

  12. Not sure what those wheels are but it looks like you've got different wheels on the front than you have on the back! Fronts 6 spoke and rears 7 spoke. Seems a bit odd to me
  13. I meant was your engine actually producing the quoted 296 bhp to begin with I also have the '296' engine although my dyno run pre tune showed it wasn't actually making that much. As others have said, Nissan seem to have been a bit generous with the quoted bhp figures for the facelift model.
  14. Are you sure you were actually making 296 before the remap? Have you got the graphs?
  15. DS2500's will work fine with the Performance Friction discs, but the PF pads are more track focussed so it depends on your usage. Worth looking at the Dixel discs and pads too.
  16. Nice one Had mine done there in Jan. I still think it's the best bang for buck modification you can do.
  17. I think that's normal on any car iirc
  18. Get yourself some Motordyne ART pipes to go with it
  19. Should be at least every 12 months or 9000 miles, whichever comes first!
  20. Wow, looks excellent, what wax did you use?
