  1. De-cats won't get you through an MOT test, high flow cats should be fine though.
  2. 3D has been and gone before. I think it's a gimmick at best, and at worst, a cynical attempt by the movie industry to make the consumers pay for their inability to deal with piracy by charging extra for the glasses etc. I can't think of a single good film that I have ever seen that I have thought would be better if it had been made in 3D. Films by their nature are a 2D medium so I can't see any benefit in trying to make them 3D. The worst kind of 3D films are the ones that were originally intended to be 2D, but have then been 'converted' to 3D. It just doesn't work. A good film is immersive because it has a great script, acting and cinematography, not because things point at you all the time. ...and now breath
  3. £260 for a P1 is daylight robbery, don't pay that! If you want to keep a full Nissan service history then I'd just find yourself another dealer that'll do it for a reasonable price. Shouldn't be more than £150 for a P1 I don't think.
  4. Out of interest, you say it's not due a service for at least another 8-9000 miles, zeds should be serviced every 9000 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Sorry if I'm preaching to the converted, just thought I'd make sure you knew
  5. I think £246.50 seems pretty good for a Nissan dealer P3. I'm sure you can get it even cheaper from an independent though.
  6. A dark gunmetal type colour always looks classy I think
  7. I'll be using Lockwood and Greenwood for my upcoming MOT and service. I spoke to them on the phone recently and they said they do quite a few 350z's. They're an ex Nissan dealer so they have all the right equipment etc but are cheaper, plus they seem friendly and helpful. Hope that helps http://www.lockwoodandgreenwood.co.uk/7392/lockwood.htm
  8. I don't know anything specifically about MR2's but I've heard lots of good things about BC coilovers on various cars including the 350z. For the money, BC's seem very good value. KW's, Bilstein's HKS etc are all excellent but will cost you twice as much as the BC's. If it's for street use I'd personally go for the BC's.
  9. Standard wheel nuts on rays should be 108 NM iirc
  10. What can I say, that's just how I roll Love it. Good to meet you bud. Yeah you too mate, always good to put faces to names
  11. What can I say, that's just how I roll
  12. Great day at JDM Allstars today, thanks for organising it Mike The club stand looked great, really nice weather and some excellent cars. Here's some pics, enjoy!!!

    Service!

Won't need a cambelt change as it doesn't have one, it's chain driven
  14. Oil should be changed every 9000k or every 12 months, whichever is first. Speak to Opie Oils http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ I always use fullt synthetic.
  15. Have to say that's a new one on me, where is this switch? Didn't know there was one
  16. Any tuner worth their salt wouldn't quote gain figures as all cars will react differently. As rtbuscuit said, stick with the experts ie RS or Abbey
  17. Even like for like standard cars will vary in performance, fueling etc etc so I would personally only go for the bespoke option that RS Tuning and Abbey offer. I don't have any first hand experience of the Response Chips method, but it doesn't sound ideal to me.
  18. Looks like they are just doing an 'on the bench' remap rather than a bespoke tune suited to the individual car. I've had mine done at RS tuning and I can highly recommend them. They know what they are doing and will give you a bespoke map specifically for your car, not just a 'one size fits all' approach.
  19. That could do it, might be worth a pm to ZMANALEX as he sells O2 spacers that should stop it happening again if it's the high flow cats that are causing it. What brand are the hi flow cats?
  20. I had a HKS induction kit and when tested on a dyno against my standard intake we found the HKS was losing 3-4 bhp across the whole rev range. I was speaking to the guy doing the tuning and he said that was very common and that after market air intakes usually don't flow as well as the standard intake. I've spoke to others from here who have said the same thing. Don't know how successful just boxing in a Nismo intake would be, doubt it would be as good as just using the standard air box, as even eliminating the heatsoak issue, it still won't flow as well as the standard intake. To be honest, it's not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it's worth knowing when considering a re-tune as every bhp counts. MODS: I don't want to clutter up this thread any further with off topic discussions so feel free to split into a separate thread if needed
  21. Plenum, induction kit, hi flow cats or decats, exhaust. But even on a standard car some power will be found, it will be better on fuel and will have better drivabilty. TBH its about what you want and the Uprev reflash will make the best of what you have. I think anyway. I wouldn't bother with an induction kit personally. Stick with the standard induction and get a free flowing panel filter for it. Most, if not all induction kits will lose you a few bhp. sorry I may be misunderstanding you, but why would nismo design an intake if it's going to lose you power? Now meaning to be rude but just wondering what's the point of them then? Very good question! I have no idea why they would do that to be honest, but a cone filter which is exposed in the engine bay (such as the Nismo one you mentioned) will never be as good as the standard induction which has a properly sealed box. Cone filters will always suffer from heat soak. Found this out myself the hard (and expensive) way! I guess people buy them for the noise and the fact it looks nice, I know I did!
