  1. hey, that exact problem has happened to me too! Think it's when I get some dodgy petrol in the tank. Turn it off, leave it for a while and start her up again. Read the error codes following these instructions: http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/index.p ... opic=38952 Think my rear O2 sensor is funked, luckiley I can turn that jazz of in the ECU I got A.
  2. thought that was only for the JDM version of the Z (mine) Think a reflash with RS tuning would work on uk mod, I'd prefer that option instead of slicing in an SLD Some aftermarket ECU's take care of the speed limiter too. (Haltech are supossed to do all the Z's BAR JDM ) Out ot interest how often would you hit the limiter? A. Well... Not that often, but never say never...
  3. Hold of a while mate, might do some real work on this during the winter months (if the price is right) and I'll publish the findings what intake pipe/filter is the best (really looking forward to the work!) A
  4. you will still have the 155mph one?! .... a c'mon!
  5. just as a note: my Z got tuned yesterday and it was getting enough food (air) through the whole session and thats with a simple drop in filter (aftermarket manifold) SO not sure if any air mods on the early Z bar drop in filter will warrant the spend.
  6. I'd got for a drop in filter... no joke. For sound someone else will probably say JWT.
  7. Greekman, just reading through the 7 pages!! of posts re your brakes. Could it be that the rear calipers are a bit seazed? As in they are always applied to the discs and thus causing it to heat all the time? Don't understand that the rear are more wrecked then the front. And that the discs crack isnt that due to quick cool and heat? If they got over heated (over a long period of time) would they not just warp? I've seen rotors/discs that has holes drilled through them heat up to quickly and get nice cracks from the holes... Maybe ceramic discs is the way to go? I'm looking at a brake upgrade from my std ones (not even brembo's) so will be monitoring this thread closely! What does input gurus think about http://www.stoptech.com products? side note: fluid is VERY important! My fluid on the bike almost started boiling due to pads pressed out due to brake seal started to go on one of the pots. Boiling fluid = expansion = not so very good happy flight in air when front brakes apply without YOU doing it! ...

  9. SUV safety... I'd guess SUV against Z would be same
  10. nah only 17k € I'll see what the accountant comes back with
  11. Maybe but a run without filter would be drawing in warm air from the engine bay??? Unless of course you left the stock air box in with no filter.... stock airbox no filter. (no warm air breathed in)
  12. Internals uprated to 4.2 and then custom turbo build would land @ 10k + 10k I've done ECU (1200) Exhaust and Cats (1000) Plenum (800) so 'only' 7k +10k left Then I better make the car first stop (brakes and tires/wheels) and also some styling options... so lets just say that'll cost around 5k... hmmm
  13. great thread! I know who can make my engine build for nothing now What's the plan for the whole project? Where will it stop? Well done mate!
  14. my tuner is a bit sceptic about the ssv kinetix plenum... (typical since I got it) Said that FI it might be good. If it doesn't crack (they've changed the welding according to themselves) looks good anyway .... (my cage got enough air and petrol true my last tune so the only thing left is either E85, rebuild with bigger bore and turbo setup) (did I just say that about 'looks good'?) A.
  15. Dont think any of these makes much of a difference. Tried on a dyno today one run without filter gave no difference in hp or torq so there you go, keep the org box I'd say to keep it cool. (so any type of drop in filter)
  16. didnt get close to 330 but very good figures still Will be a while before I do the next tune but it will be E85 uprated fuel pump and fuel lines & injectors It was amazing to see this guy do his work! Was sitting in the passenger seat from 11:30 - 16:30 (break for lunch and tee) watching him start of with a base tune = fuel map and ignition map... then over to adjust the cam timing, this was amazing to see the actual tq just change in front of my eyes when you change a nr in a table from 15 to say 20... Also realized It'll be a while before I get into tuning my own cage! He's a wizz doing mapping convinced about that, like no Q about it. Have just been driving it for a short while but it's a complete different kind of animal. Even sorted out the fueling around normal motorway speed for better fuel consumption! (lets see if it will actually work!) Was a bit sceptic at the SSV plenum manifold (oops might have been a bad buy) + to haltech for the 'ease' of tuning the car... can't wait for my drive in the morning. The HP figures might be lower then the one on the E5 and less stuff made to it but I'd say this Dyno is showing a bit lower figures then the other. Might just arrange a dyno day down there with the lads up north Anyway I'm happy, please comment.
  17. Model: 2003 VQ35DE (JDM) Mods: Apexi filter, ZEES Exhaust, Haltech Platinum ECU, Custom 'true' dual exhaust, BERK cats, Kinetix SSV Velocity manifold. Dyno: DynaPack / TDP.ie BHP: WHP: 265.4 / FHP: 318 (+-5% on WHP) Torque: 318.5 lb/ft (Texaco Techron Petrol) Quick note: Runs so much better now even though performance figures show a different story, less knocking and more pull on low revs love it! (the fuel map is to die for )

    Tyre profiles 19"

Don't 4 get the tyre pressure makes a big difference, on the bike I drop the pressure 6 psi rear and front 5 when driving track or a bit heavy on the road. Works wonders My goodyear f1's seems good enough for wet and when it's dry it would be my own fault if I put her in the ditch.... A.
  19. rofl! Congrats, thats a lot of car for your age no offense. (take it handy) btw, how much is your insurance?
  20. those things are crap... glad to hear you've seen the light on the other side and got some needed help from here! (sorry it wasn't me) So get tuning on the Z now and have that party that I've heard all about.
