spursmaddave Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Budget? Tbh I wouldn't even consider an RS4. Sure, a nice car, but hardly a thrill a minute. The C63 has the most charismatic V8 engine of the last 15 years in it, but an E90/2 M3 has it licked in dynamics and it's available in a manual. New Mustang would also be an excellent car, but I'm not sure I could choose it over a C63. i just find modern german v8s so There too monotone, They like to go to work do there job and come home, they don't enjoy themselves they take themselves way to seriously, if they where a person they would be the sort of person i would want to work for me, but wouldn't want to be friends with. Sounds like you are describing Dan and his car..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

NeilMH Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 This will be on my drive by the end of the month !!! B) :snack: :drive1 Good luck. I have found myself at Cridfords twice before but I keep chickening out - not the cars - just the potential monetary implications if anything goes wrong. My Jag was, at least, cheap and I have very helpful independent specialists nearby. But when I see Porkers like the one you are buying I am strangely tempted again. Resist, resist. 1 Quote

Beavis Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Love the sound of the C63 but a 355 with a larini exhaust cant be beaten. My brother has one fitted on his 355.....exactly how a V8 should sound. Quote
Darren-B Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Nice one Hugh, congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure you will enjoy it, I bought a 987 boxster s a few months back when going to look @ a 350, I have most certainly got the Porsche bug & will undoubtedly be upgrading in the near future. Quote

Stutopia Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Hang on, isn't there two cylinders missing from this outcome? Glad you like it Quote
Ebized Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 What a let down and there's me come on here to see what luverly V8 you might have chosen only to find that not only are you are two cylinders short but the 'V' has gone too. And on top of that bugger,.................................only wish I could make do with your choice of having two seats and such a nice choice ENJOY! 1 Quote
checkers88 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 M3 gets my vote. The new mustang will just attract the wrong attention and not be as good to drive, the Merc will no doubt be the most expensive to run (assuming cost is important) and the Audi, well, the RS6 got voted the most unreliable car in Britain by the 2015 Whatcar annual review. In fact, as a company out of the 35 companies tested, Audi came 33rd, VW about 30th, Seat 11th and Skoda 4th. So out of all the "reliable, well built vags" only the Skoda beats it's "less reliable" Ford, Vauxhall, Renault and Citroen counter parts (I can't remember where Nissan came) Personally I think Audis are very nice in terms of build but this myth that they are engineered beyond the need for worry is just not true. Also, when compared with the M3 it's no where near as good to drive, they are front heavy and generate massive fun killing understeer (on the limit of course). I would still have one just for its image and noise, plus I haven't heard any horror stories for the RS4. But if it's a drivers car you want I think the M3 is very very hard to beat.
