Dean.B Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 After cleaning the car today I noticed how grubby the exhaust was looking. So I decided to actually use the metal polish I had brought a while ago for the job. It certainly wasn't a 5min job but after some good rubbing it came up fantastic. I would definetly recommend this metal polish if your thinking of getting some. Here are some before and after photos to show the difference. Hands are a bit sore now but well worth it I think =] 3 Quote
spursmaddave Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 If you get some really fine wire wool it really helps make it easier Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Dean.B Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 Thanks =] I did think about that but was a bit unsure whether it would mark it or not so I didn't worth knowing for next time though =] Quote
Richie94gts Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Got some myself the other day, did a comparison with autosol and felt it was better. Trying to refurb my rims. Good call. 1 Quote
Payco Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Use this to polish my bay and my ARK Grip. Brilliant stuff.. 1 Quote
greasemonkey1234 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 That looks fairly good, is it any better than the Autosol polish? Quote
Dean.B Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 I wouldnt know if this is better than autosol mate as I haven't used it before. But this definetly does a good job and isnt a bad price either =] Quote
coldel Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I got a tub of this also, but prefer autosol - cheaper and better results IMO 1 Quote
ilogikal1 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Autosol is more abrasive, so better for cleaning up more pitted surfaces whereas Megs finishes a bit better. Truth be told it's only a small difference between them really. I absolutely hate the smell of the Megs stuff though. That and their spelling of polish on the tub.... Quote
coldel Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 In terms of polishing an exhaust, prefer autosol, megs is ok. I used it on my celica the other day though in the absence of autosol! Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I use the megs to start and autosol to finish a job. Quote
samsniss350z Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 It can also be used to polish out the milky look to the headlight lenses. 1 Quote
coldel Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I bought Megs PlastX for that, probably the same thing though different label Quote
-Bradders- Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I found an awesome metal polish called PEEK. Works great! Quote
Science_GT Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 NEVR DULL is a good alternative too. Its from USA but you can get it cheap from germany via ebay. Its a wadding polish and combine it with 0000 grade wire wool and exhausts come up a treat. Quote
martybhoy Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 That's an impressive result. Just one question... How many rags/clothes did you go through achieving it? lol Quote
Richie94gts Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I absolutely hate the smell of the Megs stuff though. That and their spelling of polish on the tub.... I never noticed the stupid spelling before! Quote
ilogikal1 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I never noticed the stupid spelling before! And now it'll annoy you every time you see it. Like it does me! 1 Quote
Dean.B Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 I bought Megs PlastX for that, probably the same thing though different label I've used that on my headlights a few weeks ago but didn't really see much improvement. How did you find it? I'm not sure if mine is more on the inside of the lenses rather than the outside but they do annoy me with the hazy look hah Quote
Dean.B Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 That's an impressive result. Just one question... How many rags/clothes did you go through achieving it? lol Not too many actually mate haha just a few good microfibres did the job =D 1 Quote
