Auto Glym HD Wax

Anybody used this? Got some halfords vouchers and could do with some wax.

It's meant to be pretty decent. I haven't tried it myself though.

I use it and i like it.

 

Miles better than supernatural IMO. Goes on easier, comes off easier and lasts loads longer.

 

I find on darker cars it can appear patchy but wait 24hrs then give a squirt of quick detailer and it sorts it out.

AG products tend to be pretty good. There products are a nice middle of the market option. Husky swears by it from memory.

Aye its £45 a tub (with cloth and sponge) but they're doing 3 for 3 just now so takes it down to £30 essentially. I've got Natty's Blue just now but I find it a pain to apply.

I would disagree, there is some crap in Halfords generally in the accessories department populated with rip speed rubbish but there are some good cleaning products - for the money AG is generally a good all round product.

Haha!!! One of my pals is a manager in Greggs and she was telling me about how they do point of sale of things like - Donuts 60p or 4 for £2.40, said they sales trippled just because people are conditioned to assume a multi buy is a saving!!

 

Should have read 3 for 2!

Haha with some people these days - that don't surprise me at all! I'm an ATM engineer...sometimes I have pretty much whole ATM apart on the floor, fixing it, and people start to queue up to use it and then they go "can I use it?" Errrmmmm.... What do you think?

 

Yea, halfords 3 for 2 are not bad... Just make sure u get 3 items at same price as you get cheapest one free... So if u get 2x£30 items and 1 for £1.99 it still will cost you £60 lol

Then you're probably applying too much. Natty's is one of the easiest waxes to use - try using a damp (not wet) foam applicator to apply and keep spreading until you can barely see it on the panel, once it's cured it should be really easy to buff off. If you're using it in the sun, keep an eye on the shorter curing times to avoid baking on.

 

That said, AG HD is a decent wax and quite easy to use itself. I'm not convinced that it's 3x the wax that Natty's is to justify the 3x price tag at Halfords myself, but it is good.

I quite like nearly all the Auto Glym range personally (except the tyre stuff - Megs gel is definately better)

 

For example, SRP is excellent for general purpose polishing, and I've never noticed a problem with two caps of body shampoo with the TBM. If it weren't for the Halfords image factor, and it was only available through specialist retailers, I for one would probably not notice the difference to expensive brand stuff as a non-expert car cleaner. Then again Halfords makes it easy to pop in and buy when the bottles run out. All good in my opinion

I've used all sorts from dodo to zaino and to be fair autoglym hd is pretty good.

I was advised by people on the 350z fb page to get Meguiars when I got my zed 3 months ago and I rate it and yes got the halfords 3 for 2 on it😊

HD Wax is better than any Meguiars wax sold in Halfords.

 

It's more like Meguiars #16 which is not sold in Halfords.

HD wax is easy to use, gives good results (great beading) that are very hard wearing compared to some premium waxes

Halfrauds actually sell some very decent kit these days.

 

Both detailing and mechanical.

 

Like with anything though you can still buy the crap stuff.

 

In saying that I've seen people do more damage buying the more pro products that halfords sell than I do the crap stuff.

Used this for the first time the other day.

 

Goes on very easily with the supplied applicator, comes off easily and leaves a much better shine than anything i've used before. 10/10.

I bought Autoglym HD based on reviews and recommendation on various sites, it seemed like the best value for money mid-range wax and I love it!

I used Dodo Juice before and it washed off after less than a month, HD stays on for 2 months+.

I use it all the time on my dark blue Zed. Cleaned and used it today and here,s the result.
