4 Wheel Alignment info needed.

Had my Zed serviced by Japex and Ross recommended I get a 4 wheel alignment

done as the tyres were wearing unevenly, gone through the threads on the Forum and found all

settings etc.

What I would like to know is what I should expect to pay, as I have just been quoted

£150 - 00 to do it on a Biessbarth 3D System.

I'm sure that's a lot more than I paid to have it done on my X5.

Any recommendations on a good place in London to go ?. :surrender:

That sounds like a fair price Will, the average we charged was £125 to £150 depending on adjustments required.

The main thing to get is someone that understands alignment not just red or green!

Thanks Ewen, I agree you need somebody who understands it, that's the worrying bit. :scare:

That is a bit pricey imo, as I had all my Geo done on a 3D Snap-on system and it was about £90.

Depends how much they need to adjust, you might find the TOE is ok, and they just need to alter the camber... so it might work out less.

Still cheaper than new tyres though :)

Will,

I get my R35 GT-R done at Nobles Nissan High Performance centre for £100.00.

My Track 350Z costs me £25.00 to hire the gear and the use of the low entry ramp for 1 hour at my local tyre specialist.

So I would guess that £100.00 to £150.00 would be the going rate around London.

Alex. :)

Will show you anywhere with a Hunter System. £72 at Elite Wheels in Reading if that helps.

Thanks, Reading a bit far, but there there are a few local places using your search,

but as Alex said its down to the operator that why I would like go to somewhere

that's recommended and know what they are doing.

There's a difference between an alignment to get the lines in the green areas (cheap as chips, £60 tops) and a proper geo done by people who know how different cars react to different settings (more expensive, I've paid £300 before for the best). Don't be fooled into thinking that anyone with a Hunter system, is the best: As I've said before, a bloke with a couple of bits of string can do a better job if he knows his chips.

Go where the knowledge is, not where they charge the least.

Well said, cars like an Elise or Exige can be extremely time consuming to set up often a full days work to do it properly. At a race meeting or Rally you don't have the luxury of something like a Hunter setup so old methods are used to great effect.

Something like the Hunter or similar only makes the job easier and is a good way to show the customer exactly what you have done.

I know why you go there!? There is a gang of Romanians work there! Ha ha....On a serious note I've bought my Falken 453 tyres, balanced and fitted. They offered the best price I could find.Saw Hunter system in there but not sure what are the costs.

Thumbs up for Kaizermotor,I'm sure he charge 1/3 of quoted price.

Kaizer is a little way out of london yes but you get there on main roads and dont have to mess with london traffic. i wont be going anywhere else thats for sure and its about an hours drive for me.. he knows his stuff, is very friendly, has good coffee, Wifi and is very reasonably priced. having watched him set my car up on his hunter system he certainly didnt just spend time getting it into the green lines and the difference it has made to the feel of the car is amazing
