Apart from the minor heart attack I had when the first 6 letters of the registration matched and I thought the audacious thief was parading it in front of me, it's even more bizarre that my car was probably registered hundreds of miles away. JetSet Posted August 16, 2013 Share Posted August 16, 2013 I don't know how they now but under the system they had in use in the 70's they used to allocate dealers registration numbers in blocks so it was fairly common to see the next number plate to yours. AFAIK the new prefix reg plates are typically done by region. I can't remember what it is exactly, but when my better half worked at Toyota Bath ALL their new cars left with WN or WG at the start of the plate. Mine was V328 GEN and one day i parked at Old Trafford next to the exact same model/spec/colour car, which was V329 GEN. I couldnt believe it.
