Utterly disgusting

Regarding the Daniel Pelka murder, I dont know if its being a relatively new parent, or whether Im becoming softer as I get older, but reading about cases like this are just extremely difficult:

Words cannot describe the mixed emotions of sorrow for the boy, despair that nobody out of the many involved was able to intervene, and the utter hate and rage I feel toward the animals that did this.

Its cases like this where I think they should swing.

Hopefully they will get a more fitting punishment when in prison.

No, Dblock, They were horrible enough to do that to a helpless child who had done no wrong.

They have done wrong.... we cant just do to them what they did to the innocent child, they arent innocent.

I would save money, and make another austrailia for them. Give them sunlight and seeds. finished.

I have read the stories and heard the news reports. I now no longer read any other stories (I haven't opened your link Chris), as it makes me go cold, how a small defenceless boy could be treated in such a cruel and inhuman manner.

I hope they feel the same pain that was felt by poor Damiel once they're behind bars. I have a friend who's a prison officer and I hear of prison justice carried by other inmates.

I agree with Chesterfield, for certain crimes such as this and where the proof is absolutely irrefutable the death sentence should be restored. That lad depended on them for everything and they took everything away from him.

I have to say I have not been able to read any of the articles about this case as I know it will just make me physically sick. Its beyond believe how anyone could do this sort of stuff.

Did someone say they got 30 years? When that guy in the US got 136 years for releasing a secret word document?

Scum. I hope they make them serve out their full sentence in The U.K then deport them back to Poland.

Pete

I thought I heard on the radio it was a minimum of 30 years?

Yes, it is a minimum of 30 years. What I meant to say was they should serve out all of those 30 years here, we have agreements with some countries that they can serve out their sentences in their home countries after a certain length of time has elapsed.

Yeah, but its different over there, depending on which state it is they can apply for parole after a few years, I believe it's a 1/12th of their sentence. That's why they have sentencing like life without the prospect of parole for murderers and huge unrealistic sentences for lesser offenders.

I just dont understand some things that go on.

Before I say anymore, dont take this as me sticking up or saying its okay, but,

I see why men beat their wife or vice versa. Theres probably an issue there with trust, cheating or in their mind a woman doesnt talk back to a man etc. But their both adults and understand whats going on. It is wrong, but I can understand where it comes from.

Beating children... theres just no reason for it at all. Even if it was for dominance and alpha male stuff, its still a child not a 18 year old. Child has no idea whats going on.

again the same for pedophiles. Again a touchy subject, but I get why old men look at young girls at age 15. When their dressing like a porn star and makeup all over the place, boobs hanging out... its not right, theres a law against it for one and its just wierd. But I undersrand where the mind is going. Normally down to being in jail during childhood and missing out on their own age group.

But then you have the ones that are going for under 4 and 5 year olds, sometimes babies. Theres nothing theyve missed there, thats just pure psycho.

Eventually they are going to have to do analysis on future parents etc to see how they act etc etc. Not sure how thos would be done but there must be a way

Children can be the most irritating things ever to exist on the planet. If you didn't particularly want the child in the first place (no idea if that was the case here), then it's probably very easy to harbour resentment towards it. That's just a small step and a seriously troubled mind away from what we have in the case here.

Making them swing for it would be a let-off in my book - flogging them to death would be more appropriate given what they did to that child.

And just to think the death of baby Peter seemed only five minutes ago with this latest case bringing back those awful memories all too well.

They won't 'get what they deserve' in prison, they will be in segregation with the nonces who will no doubt revel in stories like this.... the mother will get the worst but as already stated we (taxpayers) will now be paying for this scum to be looked after.

As for somewhere other than prison or the death penalty there is zero chance of either in these times, in fact if either of these monsters do get anything done to them in prison they will be entitled to compensation, now that really is sick

I'm another one that no longer reads these stories, I've worked in family law for many years and where I used to work we were always having new child abuse cases come in. Thankfully they were rarely this serious but were horrible and disgusting all the same, it was very hard to control myself when these people used to walk past me in the street and in the end it was one of the reasons I left, I still do family law but rarely any abuse cases come up.

The world is going soft, there was a story on the Beeb today that the manufacturers of one of the drugs used in the state of Texas for lethal injection purposes have refused to supply any more because of what it's being used for. What makes law nowadays, public opinion?

**edit** found it:-
