BulletMagnet Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Seeing as the heavens stopped chucking water down, thought I'd swap bonnets and give the CF Bonnet some TLC. Some of the blemishes Attack with P2000 Wet & Dry After Wet & Dry Then attack with Megs Ultimate Compound Then finish with wax Before After Quote
BulletMagnet Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 Thanks guys Let this be a warning tho, after thinking what caused the damage in the first place, it was seagull poop, so wipe off as soon as you see it. Might have to do another pass tho, when the rainclouds don't look so threatening in the sky, lol Quote
rtbiscuit Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 good work BM, i would have possibly given it a coat of laquer as you've thinned the top coat. Quote

BulletMagnet Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Nice one it came out well Dunno what you were worried about It was the worry of putting whats basically sandpaper to my rare bonnet, having never done anything like it before Quote
soimafreak Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Nice one it came out well Dunno what you were worried about It was the worry of putting whats basically sandpaper to my rare bonnet, having never done anything like it before See that would worry me a lot too! I guess after it has been flattened back with the wet 'n dry the compound you used was some special polishing compound to restore the lacquer using a electric polisher or something? impressed with how well it came up Quote

Although I do have a DA polisher, I decided to do it by hand because I wanted more "feel". Quote
