Just a thought, maybe 30mph speed limits are the ones you need to be paying more attention in. The fact it's 3 times now, you'd hope to have learned after the first or even second time. +1

it should do, I know if I set mine to 18 on a hot day and auto it will take about 5 mins of driving around before it starts to step down the fan. Have you tried it around the 25 ish mark to see if it warms it up and switches off? Typically i get fed up with the auto and set the fan speed manually.

buffer size / card write speed, In one lap of Ginetta's I only had enough space to take 15 ish pictures and then it would take a min to write to the card. Granted on Large Jpeg, but compared to a 600d which is taking the same pictures and have written them to card almost instantly. Other than that, it was absolutely fine.

I'd echo Canon and 600 or similar rage is good, the 350d is good, i only got rid of mine as shooting cars on a track was a bit challenging, doable but challenging... As for glasses, up to you if you want it to be a problem or not, you can wear your glases and use it or, take them off and use the adjuster to make the focus sharp in the view finder.

I use to be precious about it, My wife just doesn't do the milage I do, when i'f met her she'd been driving for 5 years and covered maybe 30k miles, I did that in my first year. As time went on I let her drive my car when it suited me, and I got very frustrated with her driving it, the way she doesn't do certain things etc. \ But the reality is she may not drive technically better than I do, but she will certainly not take as many risks as I do so now she drives What ever car she wants as I know she won't do any harm. Only once did she nudge a kurb, and I gave her the biggest evils I could, then checked the wheel out and there was the tinniest mark on it, I let her sweat it out for a few seconds and then let her know it's okay. In short, I think you're just anxious, the more she drives the car the more familiar she will be and driving it un-supervised she will gain more confidence, Appreciate she may have a few near misses, but just spell it out, "You broke it you buy it" (or repair)

Been thinking about this a bit more... Having a seat is all fine and dandy, But I'll need a harness, I don't have a roll cage to secure it too and I don't really want to by the sparco harness bar at £600 ish The only reason I want the seat is so I can sit in my car and wear a helmet, so my questions are, Does anyone use the race seats and normal seat belts ? I can't see how that is sensible as i'd have thought the seat belt would be obstructed by the seat it's self, but if not that solves one problem. Is there any other places to mount the harness too ? I assume I could use the rear strut brace if I removed the cover, but has anyone done that ?

What's wrong with their logo? Well that ones not to bad I think over the last two years GoDaddy have just been bringing more and more attention to themselves, and not in a good way. I imagine that value for money they're not too bad and considering the next step is a more personalised service costing hundreds of £'s a month, and as Ian said, no problems until now. At work we do $10,000's of hosting within Amazon and we have multiple servers in multiple locations and still get hit by outages due to "unforeseen" dependancies on core amazon architecture which they don't make public :/ Likewise similar money in Rackspace, different problems but all resulting in down time. In short hosting sucks either way you just have to accept it and live with the little outages.

tbh, i've never liked go daddy, and with the SOPA stuff (which they did a u turn on) I don't think i'd ever trust them. And totally unrelated... I hate the logo :/

Ah I don't mind demon-tweaks and they do have the best range, they are my go-to modified webshop, but I'm a proper man size and buying a seat online feels wrong. Also didn't realise they had a walk in place

Been looking at getting a race seat for the car, but I really don't want to buy one from demon-tweeks and would much prefer to go to a shop and touch / feel the seats. Does anyone know of any places around Hampshire / Surrey / Berkshire ?

Looks good and cheaper than the others, hopefully this will mean on my daily commute I will no longer be bouncing between roads on the new bridges at Reading on the M4

I just sit with my elbows poking my ribs, can reach the steering wheel all the way around without twisting out of the seat then. You should be sitting as upright as possible, but saying that I hit my head on the roof :/

Been reading through this with some interest, mainly because thanks to the pictures I realised I know Chris! (Use to work with Amanda at TLG) and I've just started riding again after a 10 year break, still using the bike I had some 15 years ago which could probably do with a new drive train as all the teeth seem to be worn, surprised the chain hasn't snapped yet... Anyway here's a pic of my 15 year old Scott Rockwood: When I decided to get back into it I replaced the saddle, trip computer with my HTC Desire HD, removed the old light bracket on the front, replaced the intertubes and tyres (semi slicks) and bar grips, don't think i'll spend any more on it as it's just so old, I've resigned myself to leave it as it is until the chain snaps, I'll probably replace it once and after that i'll chuck it. I don't tend to go off road much so I will probably switch to a road bike at some point, If I manage to keep riding into winter and out into spring I may treat myself to a bike.

I think its swings and roundabouts, I'm currently permie but I imagine if I change I will go contracting, yes there's a risk, but play the pessimistic game, assume you'll work half of the year on the lowest end of the daily rate, if you can still survive on that then all is well. As for not wanting to be an arse, I would try not to see it that way, you're providing a service based on a contract, if it's out side of the contract it's up to you to determine if it's worth doing it for free or not, and likewise define a day that is 9-6pm and put in your contract an hourly rate if you go beyond, you don't have to use it, but it's a good persuasion tool if they start expecting 12 hour days. One of my friends contracts and makes a point to always ask for more money when re-negotiating the contract, or to ask for more flexible working; his view point is you need to encourage them to get rid of you, and if not, they should recognise your value. I also have another friend that will charge a lot higher for daily contracts and reduces the figures for more stable contracts. As for personality, you'll just have to try harder in the first few weeks until people know you and then you'll probably find you can be more like your old self. I think if there's an opportunity for you to do it and the contract is 6 months, that's a nice simple way into contracting, but just bear in mind you may get to the end of that contract and be without work for a couple of months. Also bear in mind a 6 month contract may turn into a 2 day contract when they decide to cancel the whole project, but you can probably write something into the contract for a cancelation fee, like 1 day's pay, if the notice period is less than 2 weeks. anyway, just my 2p, Good luck with it all.

no pink ticket, After a more sedate lap I went to get fuel and it seemed okay, and within 5 mins just started making a horrible sound. so just a every day break down. As for costs, yes it's not too bad, about £100 each way in fuel, £70 for a ferry if you book it at the right time and then what ever you need to eat (we spend about €25 a night for 2 of us with drinks) obviously you'll want european break down and travel insurance (and eh11), if you've driven abroad before you've probably got all the other bits but that's only another £60 or so. We camped this time and that was only €13 per night per person.

not too much, About £90 to get from Basingstoke to Adenau (1 tank ), and 2 tanks about €180 for 15 laps I'd think. The ride home was free and will take 2 weeks, but that's a longer story
