  1. sounds similar to me, I can't stand to hold microfibre cloths makes me freak out a little, Also can't ware cotton socks, especially on carpets oh and woodlice, don't like them or earwigs, everything else is is fine.
  2. it's a nice thought but it really sint the same, on forza 3/4 the track is not really anything like reality. it has the right left's and rights and that's about it. The gradient on the corners is flatter in the game and the corners aren't as sharp. Certainly by doing a few laps on the game it will help some of it be more familiar, but you have to take it slow. I was told by an ex tester there it takes about 10 laps to know roughly the lefts and rights 100 laps to be able to go through safely at speed and about another 500 to really know it and go flat out.
  3. Yes Modern blades cut and tug. So they tug the first hair and pulls it which the second blade tugs and cuts and then the 3rd and 4th do the same. This is why alot of people get shaving rash. Also does your fusion give you a much better shave than your sensor excel or mach3? Mine didnt. with a DE you shave twice to get the same effect but these blades are much sharper and only cut, no tugging. I would say lathering takes slightly longer than gel or cream but it does a much much better job. You need a badger but ideally a SUPER badger brush. From worst/cheapest to best its Pure badger Best Badger Super Badger Mushroom,Mushroom! Silvertip The better brush's lather better, hold more and are made of a better quality of hair with less. Badgers hair naturally holds water hence why its used. Synthetic and Boar brush arent as good. The cheaper brushs also feel prickly or sharp where the better ones are smooth and soft. That's some good advice, cheers! I use to use a Mach3 but found shaving every day resulted in rashes and cuts, then switched to a King of shaves Azor which was better but still not ideal for shaving daily! Quite tempted to give one of these a try to see if it helps, been a very interesting read this thread!
  4. This is by far the best raffel I have ever entered beats winning a box of biscuits
  5. been watching a few vids on this, seems that the DE razors are not as aggressive as the normal every day razors, but you have to do more passes as a result, does that sound about right ? also loving the brush, so much quicker than squirting gel in your hands!
  6. Just had a quick look through one of the sites and something like: http://www.theenglishshavingcompany.com ... %7C%7C5%7C I assume is easy to maintain as it's still disposable blades, but from a closes/comfort point of view what si ti like compared to the fusion / mass market razors ?
  7. I like the idea of trying a single bladed razor, but are they a lot of hassle to maintain, with the cut throats there's a lot of sharpening involved isn't there ? :/ I would like to get to shaving more than twice a week but most commercial razors are shocking Mach3 was good,, Fusion was like shaving with a rubber, i'm currently on a King of Shaves Azor razor which is nice but still not brill.
  8. agreed, saw one last year in the states very fancy and with rear seats for 0.5 children anyway
  9. I decided to "have a go" with various methods... sanding the primer and applying paint, sanding primer and paint and applying yet more and just applying primer and paint In short they all look equally shocking close up so it was kind of pointless having the extra effort of cutting back the laquer / polishing (hurt my arm ) but it does look better from a few feet away which is nice. I forgot to take a picture before I started but I found an old photo from a year ago and you can just see the damage around the washer and some scratches to the right of the reflector where the bumper starts to curve
  10. I too suffer from the manly affliction known as sensitive skin, I tend to do all of what I can, Prewash oil + wet Gel Decent razor and I tend to only shave every other day at most (more recently once a week as I can get away with it at work) I use king of shaves a lot, the oil is nice and it does help reduce some of the friction but by far the best thing for comfortable shave I found was more growth, if you can get away with a light stubble do so it will help more than oil.

  14. Can't agree more, I did the Performance driver course (http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/inde ... l-day.html) with Colin just after getting my car and it was the best money I've spent, learnt loads and colin use to do the Test driving for the 350z for Nissan in Nurburg when they were converting it from the Jap spec to the european spec so he know's his 350's well. Even worked out I had a duff rear suspension damper while on the course which the servicing missed, so can't rate Colin or Jo high enough. If you're not sure about spending the £1k on a course do a trial day on the Gymkhana day http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/inde ... khana.html You can do it in your car and you can try to beat my time (not that I can remember what it is but I beat everyone else in the Zed and they were using the Subaru and Race Chataram which is quicker than the zed I'm afraid) Honestly, can't recommend the guys enough, I would do the gymkhana again in a heart beat
  15. I brought my car a couple of years ago and the previous owner had managed to drive it into something and pick up a lot of roadrash. In additon to that since i've had it someone very kindly scraped all down the drivers side of the bumper (looks like they were trying to get out of a space and decided going into reverse was too hard...) Either way, my bumper is pretty shocking and I do a fair few motorway miles so have a number of stone chips, so I thought last weekend that this weekend would be a good time to have a go with the halfords stone chip pens. I tested it on a small area just as it says to use it and it looks as bad as I thought it would, a few lumpy black spots rater than hollow white spots, so still an improvement. After reading: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=61434 what I'm wondering is... is it worth using some wet and dry on top of the stone chip remover with some compound & wax afterwards to try and flatten the marks out or am I asking for trouble by even thinking of it ? The thing that is specifically bothering me is it is a non-lacquered paint so i'm worried that rubbing it down will flatten it and it won't come back to a gloss.
  16. It was the worry of putting whats basically sandpaper to my rare bonnet, having never done anything like it before See that would worry me a lot too! I guess after it has been flattened back with the wet 'n dry the compound you used was some special polishing compound to restore the lacquer using a electric polisher or something? impressed with how well it came up
  17. I was with Admiral until this renewal (today infact)Last year it was £780, this year Admiral wanted £950 odd, found it online for cheaper on moneysupermarket and admiral price matched the car. I then gave adrian Flux a call and I'm now insured through them on Equity Red star (I think) This year is one of my cheapest at £530, I'm only 27 with 5 years NCB and a minor speeding infringement (sp50) and 25k miles a year with SDP&C Definitely worth shopping around!
  18. This thread is awesome, I now need to go find a boot release I didn't know about and try to make the cd change when holding seek! FWIW, one full tank of 102ron fule will last approximately 8 laps on the Nurburgring, great fun starting the laps to find the fuel warning light coming on a day after you filled up! likewise 1 tank of fuel is enough to drive from basingstoke to Adenau (just out side the ring) 450 miles ~ and still only put in 62L There's a pointless little card holder on the passenger side that is just big enough for a credit card, and great fun when you tell people it's your glove box and they should push the button to open it
  19. Thanks for the feed back, I did listen to the scorpion as well but I just don't think it sounds as nice. I am a little concerned by the amount poor fitment / build quality of the Japspeed but You can get bad parts from high end makers as easily as the low end. I'll have a bit more of a ponder and see what happens.
  20. Hi All, I'm just looking at various options for replacing my exhaust system and I came across japspeed's k2 + y pipe combo which sounds good to me. The only thing that puts me off is the y pipe-back system says it is only suitable for upto 2005 ( Link ) Although this doesn't say it will fit my 56 plate I can't see why not especially if i'm fitting the y pipe as well ( Link Has anyone fitted this combination or know if it will / won't work in this configuration ? Any help appreciated. Matt
  21. Hi All, I'm looking to get my hands on a pair of rear suspension dampeners and pretty sharpish if possible as I need them replaced before a trip to Nurburgring in mid May. Any help appreciated, Matt
  22. I currently do about 350-500 miles per week, and as said it's about £80 per tank on the good stuff. The only downside is that you'll put your foot down a lot and you'll probably see 22mpg for a while. quite easily hit 28, but you have to drive it like sensibly. As mentioned, the other consideration is servicing. It's not entirely cost prohibitive but all in all including servicing /tax insurance probably close to £500 per month, just depends if you're happy with that cost.
  23. Luckily I have swapped discs and pads befor eint he past so it may be worth doing it. Will definitely PM Zmanalex, he comes highly recommended

    Brake woes

Hello, I've just had my first p3 service (at 40k miles, the previous owner didn't bother) Service was fine, the list of "issues" was not so fine. I've been told I have a leaky off side front calliper, which Nissan can fix for £1500 which to me sounds a little excessive. Has anyone else come across this before? To add insult to injury I've been told I need new discs and pads all round too, the pads are definitely worn, but the discs seem fine, although I have never seen a new set to know any better. I'm guessing that with the calliper it's get a second hand one, the pads and disks all around is another £1500 which again seems excessive but not sure. Any help/advice appreciated.
