Beautiful, thanks for the pics

I am seriously considering a 4200/gransport instead of a R34. Similar price range & insurance isn't a lot different either :)

I looked as the 3200s a couple of years ago before deciding on a Z, they are wonderful cars but the maintenance costs are amongst the highest I've seen.

Not saying don't get one (you may be able to afford what I can't justify  ) but be sure to go into it with your eyes open.

They'll never better the F40 :cloud9:

They already have ........... true story below:

This was Le Mans 2007, Friday in Arnage, where all the nice cars go pose in the afternoon. We are strolling down the main drag, and having just seen an F40 at the top of the road we spot another and go over to have a closer look. Noticed immediately that this car is a bit different - the intercoolers, lights, exhaust and even the bodywork and colour are different. I confirm this with my mate Yakko, then I notice a bloke wander over to it with the keys in his hand. Conversation goes like this:

Doc: "Alright mate, your car is it??"

Bloke: "Yeah it is, what do you reckon??" :)

D: "Well, its nice, but we noticed the lights, intercoolers and stuff are different from an F40. What is it - an MR2 conversion or something??"

B: "Errm, well its actually an F40LM special edition" :scare:

Yep, I had just accused the bloke with probably the best example of an F40 ANYWHERE* of having an MR2.

Fortunately he was a top feller - stood and spoke to us for about 3/4 hour about this and his other cars (he actually named his son after one of his Porsches) and then let said 8 year old jump in and fire the fezza up for us and the assembled crowd. Which was cool. B)

* The car was an F40 LM, of which only 17 were made - see here: http://www.supercars.net/cars/3318.html for details. This particular one had just come back from a full mechanical overhaul at the factory, and must have been around the £500K mark. Definitely not an MR2. :bangin:

Great pics Ian, gutted I was away for this.

My dad put a deposit down on a Gran Turismo on Saturday. I'm going to see him in a couple of weeks, so I hope he lets me drive it :drive1

Can you bring it along to the next breakfast meet? :p

I'll ask him very nicely and see what he says. Don't hold your breath though!
