as you may have quickly gathered, this isn't really about spoilers, but i thought the pictures were worth a giggle.

its amazing what you can carry with the S2K, i got all this on/in the car

well i suppose your all wondering whats all this time wasting about? well i am so excited about my new car toys that i thought i had to share (some may disagree of course  )

i've been waiting ages for these to come over from the states, but they finally got here while i was on holiday.

the top box is my new (well; new to me) comptech Ice box.

it came up at the right time and felt it a good option; i will look for a new filter to put on it. either a new CT one or maybe something else. although this has been cleaned so will do for now. I'm also going to vinyl the writting on properly and get rid of the flakey text that was painted on.

the other 2 boxes are my new exhaust; after much reading and researching i felt it was one of the best options to go for as it offered looks, sound and quality without leaving my ears bleeding.

OMG its not an 06 airbox and its not a true duel

Are you gonna lower it? lowered s2ks look sweet.

single manifold single exhaust ;) have to keep twin tips as otherwise the car would look like its missing something with an exhaust cut out being empty.

Thought you sold the Zed as you were after the cash?

Now you spending it all on the S2000

yep, and selling the zed paid of the debts paid for the car and had some left over to sort out the exhaust and air box. :teeth: bonus

I think that was just the justfication, I dont think Rich liked the 350 that much, I think :dummy:

to be honest i didn't; just didn't really click with the car, engine never sounded right, and lots of little niggles that just spoilt it for me. much happier with the new beast.

Exhaust looks like a nice bit of kit....get it on and get the vids up!

have already taken the standard video shot, will do a comparison vid when fitted.

LOts of little pipes for the airbox, looks interesting.... have you done a base dyno on the car? WOuld be cool to see what that exhaust might give, like the art type box.

was interesting to fit, but not to bad. as for base dyno etc not really that bothered. i mod for fun and for noise, car already feels great. only reason i'd dyno it for the numbers is for pub banter etc.

i shall be relying on my highly tuned but dyno for the results. with the air box fitted it has cured the lumpy idle and occasional kangarooing that it gets sometimes. as for the exhaust, i've just come in from trying to fit it. can;t get the 3 bolts on the CAT undone, might make a little trip to my garage friends for themto remove the old one. just not enough space under the axle stands to work.

Typicall rusty nuts hate that  Would be interesting to see if the monies spent are for noise only or a few hp's. Would like to know if the 'Art' type can at the end has any effect... whats the story on dyno mapping and changing ECU parameters on the s2000, bet it'll look and sound sweet ass

off to KTEC in the morning to get it sorted, gave up on the nuts in the end, and the rubbers were stiffer than a a teenager on viagra, only got 1 off and nearly gave my self a hernia in the process.

As for the exhaust the central Can is more for tuning the sound, just like the HKS on the 350Z which has 2 chambers; one on each can. and gains wise i think are minimal. alot of the talk on S2Ki about this exhaust is that it doesn't really gain anything, but what it does give is probably one of the best sounding exhaust notes for the car, without making your ears bleed. i toyed with the invidia for the car and it sounds unbeliable, but on a day to day basis, it would be to loud, i think its even louder than the K1 without baffles in.

tuning wise on the S2k its pretty easy from what i can tell, bolt on mods can and do make a difference, but to really improve it then a remap is in order. not found out if they can remap the current ECU or if it would need a piggyback ECU. basically the drive by wire system sames as on the Zed didn't come in till 2005, so i don't have the issues that the newer ones and the Zed have.

I know its single manifold mate, Is it 4 cylinder? I was just saying on here everything is 06 airbox and if its not true duel then omg your a fool.

You gonna be getting buddyclub manifolds for the s2k?

oh so true about on here and the only option being 06 box and true dual, on the s2k there are so many options, manifold wise i will probably do something but what i don't know, buddy club is good. but i want to match in pipe diameters with the HKS and probably get a decat or hi flow at some point. the big bonus with the S2k engine is that i can actually get to the manifold and changing it should be no more than an hour. compared to the 12 hours for the zed's too.

Chav :p

 yep

it was the one thing missing from the Stook, and that was the noise, but it was the same with the MR2, just wanted a little pick me up to add to the theatre of driving. CAI was all to do with correcting a bogging down issue, and its done just that

well here a quick video of mine fitted, i've done a brief comparison against stock

th_HKSExhaustswap.jpg

there is a slight rattle at 5500-6500 which i'm fairly certain is the cat on its way out, so i shall be swapping it out with a hi flow or a de cat in the near future, and then i'll put up a new vid.
