2004 BMW 320 cd... had it for one week and the farking engine decided to commit suicide. Turns out it was one of the butterfly valves disintegrated and got sucked in to the turbo and fried the entire engine! Took it all the way to BMW headquarters in Munich and they refused to help with getting the engine replaced despite it being only one month out of warranty and the cause being a manufacturing error of sorts. My experiences with BMW customer service have led me to the conclusion that I will never buy a BMW again.

worst to drive was my first car, a 1.4 Peugeot 306, thankfully since then everything else has been alright!

worst car for reliability was my old 300ZX - in the 6 months i had it it needed new track rod ends, new clutch, new radiator and fan, new intercooler, £800 of rust repairs, then once all that was sorted the engine went bang :(

In terms of cars that are just crap, I've never owned a poor car.

In terms of a specific car I've had that wasn't very reliable, I guess the MX-5 that rusted away is probably the worst. Still an utterly brilliant car though, I loved it!

I've been happy with all my cars, just that the first one was rather slow, remember many ambitious overtakes that didn't always go well. and the spec was rather budget, but hey, nobody has a good first car! the one after that was still a 306, but it had bigger engine, leather seats, air con, and it was awesome and went pretty well.

First car.

Renault Clio 1.2

13,000 after finance.

Slower than all my mates Nova 1.2 Merits they bought for 1000 quid.

Less reliable. Gear linkage had to be sorted. Horn stopped working. (Was on the window wiper stalk. If I ever had to beep quickly I'd put the wipers on instead!)

ECU had to be replaced. Kept cutting out.

All the dashboard lights failed twice.

Heater stopped working.

Developed a sunroof leak.

Manifold had to be replaced.

Plastic wings. Cost a fortune to repair. Special gel paint.

Had a TAPE player in 2001.

Hated it.

Reminds me of my smart car, loved it and then the turbo went pop and couldnt overtake anything!

Diecast mark1 Ford Escort from Corgi. Wing mirrors broke and front axle snapped. I was gutted at the time.

 must have been driving it hard to snap the axle.

I had a wheel fall off my action man tank.

Bay window camper x 2 ironically. Slow, unreliable, wouldnt go up hills, unpleasant to drive, no heater (unless you consider the heat exchanger that was as effective as an asthmatic who had just sucked on a fishermans friend) lowered so much you had to deflate the tyre on the rear to squeeze between the body and hub, rusty......However, probably worth the most money nowadays had i kept them, go figure.

Worst car I had to drive was probably my octavia. Worst for reliability was the tt my Mrs just got rid of we spent over 1k on repairing it in 2 years

I've spent £2600 on head gaskets on my Mrs' peugoet 207 in just over a year. I'm still half tempted to set the bastard thing on fire!!

Ford Escort Estate Mk III - all sorts of engine issues and it basically rusted away - you could see daylight in the drivers foot well, took it to Germany when posted over there and scrapped it as it would never have passed the BAOR/TUV without a lot of work.
