Adrian@TORQEN Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 As some of you know I still have the VQ37HR engine that I was planning to build and stick in the 370z. The 370z now belongs to Scott, so I don't need the engine anymore. What do you guys think I should do with it? 1. Fix it as OEM and bring it over (nothing major wrong with it) 2. Build it as Stage 1 (750bhp+) or Stage 2 (850bhp+) and bring it over here 3. Sell it over there in USA as it is 4. Any other idea? Thanks! 1 Quote
Lexx Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Bring it over here and drop it into a Z32 and use as a demo car...... Quote
Lexx Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Actually, scratch that. You can't get the DE low enough to clear the bonnet so chances of managing it with a vq37 are close to zero. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 How about making it VQ40HR? http://www.briancrower.com/view.php?pn=BC0225 Quote

DoogyRev Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Heathen! At least it would be staying in the "Z" family . . not going in a Hairdressers Roller-skate 5 Quote

Darren-B Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Great minds, my friend Would actually be a great little conversion, I reckon. I looked into this a little while ago, to get a vq in an mx5 you would need to make some extensive modifications to the height of the engine by either dry-sumping or re-designing the plenum. 1 Quote

Seems high tech. What about sawing a big hole in the bonnet? 1 Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Put it in a micra then charge it and keep it looking stock. Perfect sleeper. Quote
-Bradders- Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Build it, boost it, buy an engine dead Zed and whack it in that or sell it. or run a raffle for it! 1 Quote
