Adrian@TORQEN Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 French Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi has died, nine months after suffering severe head injuries in a crash at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix. The 25-year-old had been in a coma since crashing his Marussia car into a recovery vehicle in wet conditions in Suzuka last October. His family said: "Jules fought right to the very end, as he always did, but today his battle came to an end." Marussia, now known as Manor, said the team was "devastated". Bianchi is the first F1 driver to die from injuries sustained in a Grand Prix since Brazilian triple world champion Ayrton Senna was killed at Italy's Imola circuit in 1994. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/33578770 Quote
Ekona Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Really? I'm not shocked at all, it was a horrendous accident and he was lucky to survive as long as he did. RIP Jules. Quote

allaboutthepasty Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 It was an absolutely horrendous crash, surprised how long he fought for. Great young driver that would have gone onto better things and such a loss to the sport. Quote
Linus27 Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Very sad news. I used to root for him, very talented driver. Had a Sauber contract in his pocket for this year and would probably replaced Kimi next year at Ferrari. R.I.P Jules. Quote
