  1. Been looking at these lately. Whilst at uni the Cayman 987 was very popular back in 2010/2011. Somewhat common in my area. 10 years later the 981 seems to have been steady above 30k. Boxster being slightly different in prices. These are 12 to 16 plates.. Im hearing the 718 isnt quite the same but more refined and modern. I have a feeling the 981 will become more valuable than the 718. Cayman 981 kept steady pricing for the last few years Also on enquiring about warranty from Nissan on the Nismo they wanted a cool 700 plus pounds for 12 months warranty while porsche charge around 1300 pounds for 24 months. In terms of running costs are both cars similar? As Servicing Nissan costs around £400 to £500 per annum. Depending on what needs doing more reasonable service costs can be found at Porsche or at Indies. Wheels are 19s and 20s mainly. Driving dynamics they say Porsche is superior. The steering rack is hydraulic on the Nissan but balance is probably better on Cayman with Boxster being heavier due to the roof?! Also adaptive suspension doesnt bother me but most come with it.

Garage fitted the new one so cannot return it to Nissan so selling the old one. 12. I have a 2010 car with 70k miles on the clock, it drives absolutely fine no issues but I'm getting a bit paranoid about the gallery gaskets, I've looked back through the receipts I got with the car and no mention of gallery gaskets. I bought the car from a small dealer in Birmingham and he said the guy he got it from had changed to a Nismo so wondered if hes on here or any other previous owners on here. It mentions on a few of the receipts John Wood in 2019 and Andrew Darbyshire in 2020. Reg is LJ10 DEL, pearl white.
  13. Hi guys, I have a 2010 370z Cabriolet. The roof has failed, local garage can't fix it and specialists want an arm and a leg - really isn't worth spending that much on. So I'm hoping one of you amazing people might have a solution! The roof seems to want to go, the back body coloured panel lifts as it should, the cloth roof partially lifts but gets half way and then it just seems to forget what it's supposed to be doing. The motor can still be heard working but no parts of the roof are moving. The roof can then be "pushed" away manually, so nothing is jammed, it just won't do it of its own accord. I went away for a couple of weeks and when I returned, the battery was flat. Shortly after that, the roof failed. Someone suggested the two could be related, so I bought a trickle charger and gave the battery a good charge, it now shows full. Unfortunately, this didn't remedy the fault. I'm going to try and disconnect the battery tonight and see if that 'clears it's head', it's almost like the roof system is confused and doesn't know which bit to do next! I know that probably sounds stupid but it's the best way I can describe it. Oh, one more thing. When the roof is half open, looking at the hydraulic pumps within the cloth roof, there is a kind of white residue. Strangely, around the same time the roof failed, a mysterious white residue patch appeared on the drivers seat. I'm wondering if something may have leaked? The local garage said they'd change the hydraulic fluid, but theyve just said now that there is no fluid, it's a motor and cable system. So I'm at a loss. Any help MASSIVELY appreciated!! P.s anyone wanna buy a 370z cab?! 🤦🏻‍♂️😭
  14. anyone want some free bits to collect from Manchester. Won’t post. Haines manual touch up paint 4 wheel nuts radio fascia orange indicator bulbs
  15. Saw this at lunchtime today. Looked super clean from top to toe
  16. I've seen a Nismo 370z and it looks pretty nice, it was also pretty low too. Im paying £300 for my celica which is alot comparing to newer cars lol. Reason I'm kind of looking around is because my MOT is due soon, and I'm not sure how the celica will fare and thought it might be an opportunity for me to look around if I decide to not keep it. I think I might lean on an hot/warm modern hatch in the meantime and save up for a Z34 or an GT86. I did/am still consdiering the MX5 but mazdas has a particular reputation for not being generous with rustproofing (so it might be cheap mechanically but body wise, is just as expensive as maintaing any rotten car which kind of defeats the point of a cheap sports car,but i guess thats the reason why you can find them for relatively cheap for their market segment). For example, I could be looking at a 2010 model and it might last me a year or two based on their corrosion and given how much they go for, might not be a good idea?
  17. My daughters 2010 370 failed to start after filling up at a service station. The RAC guy traced the problem to a steering lock issue. He suggested that when she stopped the lock should have engaged but didn’t since he was able to turn the wheel. After lots a fuse checking, tapping things and other more technical tests he felt that the lock must have tried to engage but didn’t and so the controlling computer wouldn’t have got a signal back saying the steering wheel was locked and therefore through its dummy out the Pram. Car removed to main dealer and now awaiting big bill. “UNLESS SOMEONE KNOWS BETTER” ? Because I noticed in previous 2013 posts there was a Steering Lock issue which Nissan fixed for free. Anyone know if this is still available? Hope someone can shed more light on this issue for me!
