Yeah full oil change on mine. 5w 30 Fuchs Pro S

A couple of specialists also said it was nothing to really worry about as these engines can be pretty noisy due to something way over my head about valve buckets

sounded like mine did. Has it had an oil change recently? Have you checked the level?

Well after all that I did an oil change and put in some FUCHS Pro S 5W 30 following recommendations on here. Now, no more ticking at all!! So it must have had the wrong weight oil in it, i'll be calling the trader as I'm not best pleased about that. Anyway I can now just enjoy the car rather than worrying about it all the time.

It will look one of those escorts you see parked up outside a council estate with different coloured body panels. I think it would look hideous but as is always said, its your car!

Have you genuinely driven both of them enough to make that opinion. Granted the build quality isn't the greatest and they lack a bit of style but both are very accomplished hot hatches which really put on a smile on your face. To the OP, depends what sort of engine you like Turbo or N/A. Personally i'd go for the Megane for that turbo shove but I'd argue the Clio will be more fun when you are in the mood

Took it to a guy that Mark from Abbey motorsport recommended. Luckily he was only 10 mins from home and builds GTR engine so knew his stuff. He listened to it with a stethoscope and said that he wasn't overly concerned with the sound. He told me to keep an eye on it and see if it was there from cold which it was. He then said that it now concerns him less (as it wouldn't be linked to oil pressure) and then went on to say what he thinks it would be which was far too technical for me but in essence he said 1000th of a mm out on an engine will cause that sort of that but nothing to worry about and no lasting damage. I've been keeping an eye on it and its one of those things that sometimes I struggle to hear so its having an oil change and a nissan filter this week and then at least I know its got the best stuff in it.

As said stick to something lightweight and simple like a caterham unless you want big running costs. Things like cerberas and m3s will take some serious £££ to keep on the road.

One of my favourite features. Very close to the wheel so you can pretend your some form of race driver. Gearbox is great too. It also gives lots of space in the back as there's no lump in the middle between the seats. +1, it's the most natural position for it and you get used to after a few hours.
