Slotting another section of hose inside the air filter will not work. Why don't you just remove the rubber section from the filter in your picture and just run 1 tube? Or am I missing something here? Alex.

Depends what you find, however worst case scenario would be a replacement engine. However I have low mileage preowned cams and buckets in stock if required. Alex

Patch, In reply to your original question. To adjust the valve clearances you have to replace the cam shaft buckets which come in various thicknesses. If the ticking noise is due to excessive valve clearances then you would be best to remove the cam covers and inspect the lobes of the cams. I find that to replace the cams or buckets you are best to remove the engine as it is a real pain to do insitu. Alex.
