Assuming that the fans are working properly and the gauge is not giving you a false reading If so, then definitely a blockage of sorts. (1) Air in system: Bleed system. (2) Flush out radiator, both ways. (3) Remove and test thermostat. Report back if these do not cure your over temperature issue.

Absolutely no need to remove the tank etc. A competent welder with the right equipment will weld in the repair sections without the risk of fire. Oxygen/Acetylene welding techniques are no longer used for this type of welding, so no naked flames, which would be a fire hazard. I have done this job over half a dozen times in the shop over the years and as a guide it takes around 1.5 hours per side to carry out the welding, using an OEM repair section. PM received and replied to.

This area here to be repaired to take the rear stay. A very easy repair to a competent fabricator/welder. Even easier with a rust free OEM repair section.

That area where the rear stay fixes can easily be repaired either by fabricating and welding up or by welding in a repair section which I have in stock at the minute for both sides.
