  1. Nice... Lots of work there... The colour looks amazing...
  2. Its not so much the bolts but the length, theres about four threads clear through the lugs and (when you get the bolt out) you'll find the bolt is clean and corrosion free apart from this exposed bit and its this that will do the damage so get a bit of folded emery paper in there to clean it a bit and oil from the rear, out, in, out, in, etc, don't spare the oil... Hope this helps...
  3. Seeing you have just bought the car I would look at a P3 service, even if its sold as serviced, unless you know the history of the car / garage doing the servicing its worth doing the lot then you know its good to go, after all, its not a Honda Jazz, people buy these things to give it some poke and it will only break if its not looked after, just in a Z you tend to be going a bit faster when it does go... Worth the expense...
  4. Sorry, true... Ah was thinkin replacing the whole arm when replying...
  5. Its straight forward for the home mechanic too, just be careful not to snap a bolt on the bracing, use a good penetrating fluid, something like Metaflux...
  6. I bought a couple of bars of the rubbing compound from the Bay, I'm not up on this stuff so I can only describe it as the brown and blue ones. The brown does all the roughing and the blue makes it mirror perfect... You use a felt wheel on a drill or dremmel, easy really but takes time... Theres a Youtube vid about it...
  7. wls, how is the phone attached, is that a dock you can buy or did you make it yourself (looks good)...
  8. Got to say, the first pix of it I said to myself, hmmmm, that looks good..... ......... Then you scroll down and see it on the car... Its all wrong... Its like trying to mix a tall blonde Sweedish bird with a Japanese bunny girl, in theory a good thing but it would never look right...
  9. Dat nice... I like the Nismo lip, the car suits it...
  10. Would it no have to be a two or three day job anyway, surely you wont get a good job just painting them on the car and if you take them off they need to dry before you put them on, certainly cant let the brake fluid touch them... Google brake calliper refurb in your area...
  11. JW Tyres in Airdrie for part worns apparently I'm told, couple of guys I know use them, as said, if you know what your looking for pop over and ask them to stick them aside when they get them in...
  12. Thanks guys, getting time to do it is murder... Me mate came over last night and done a couple of brake pipes so yea, if Japfest is in August then I'll be ready by then... RX, callipers were done by ZmanAlex, e may be able to help you out...
  13. I got the wheels on and showed Tuc and the first thing she said was "what have you done, have you jacked up the suspension"... Blonde moment...
  14. Sitrep... Almost done, just a couple of brake pipes to do (as well as the servicing stuff, the bodywork, the interior clean up, etc etc... Anyway, getting there... Callipers were completely refurbed by ZmanAlex and finished in Utra Yellow and the brakes, DBA T3 rear with Ferrodo DS2500 pads and Performance Friction fronts with the PFC 01 Carbon Metallic pads, Hose Technic brake lines and 20mm Eibach spacers all round supplied by Ewen at Clark Motorsport, big thank you to both... Hmmmm, disc looks tiny though...
  15. PM ZmanAlex, theres a post on painted callipers, apparently he did a set in Ultra Yellow for someone on the forum here ... Outstanding so they are...
  16. Unsure about your issue but behind the DVD unit behind the seat is a little pair of wires that turn it on when the cubby is raised, they were made to the exact length needed and as such can come unplugged or snap easily if you'r (meaning me) rough with it, could be this wire s broken somewhere...
  17. First road bike was a 350 YPVS... Hooligan bike of the day... Then moved to GSXR6's SRAD then K2 (hence I got Jixa)... Hooligan bike of the day... Then the Buell XB12... Hooligan bike... Now have a Husky SMR630... Fun hooligan bike... This will be my last I think...
  18. As said, EK bypass EK bound bout half two... Ah was goin the other way, you'd never have seen me...
  19. Tyre is the software you would use with the Tom Tom as well (Tyre to Travel) but as said its a right pain. With Mapsourse make the route on the computer, connect the Garmin satnav to the computer and upload the route, sorted... Hope you get a solution that works for you... Cheers... Heres one I made earlier...
  20. The Mapsourse software is point and click. Make waypoints for destinations, stops etc and let it calculate the route, once that's done just move the line to the road you want it to go and make sure the point is on an intersection that way the navigation algorithm has to include it (if its not on an intersection it recalculates it)... If you have the time you can make your own POI's with pictures and sound and set it up as a proximity alert like the speed camera alerts so say like as you come up to a nice sight or something of note but not neccisarilly worth stopping for it can do the tour guide thing, kind of breaks the journey... Also something that can be fun is the tracklog which you can use as telemetry... As said, Tom Tom is satnav for the masses, if you want reliable A to B get me there, its for you. If you want more control of the route, Garmin... P.S. I have done the mapping for some of the guys for their Tom Tom's on the PC and its murder...
  21. Been using Garmin for Eurotrip since it was the StreetPilot III, now using a Zumo... The software for route planning on the computer is easy to use and fantastic, links in with Google Earth to preview the route. The Satnav follows the route and if it has to recalculate it heads for your route not a new route altogether... Bluetooth to phone and headset if needed (for the bike) and you can load a 32g SD with tunes for the trip, sorry, pointless in the car but great for the bike...
  22. UK satnav has different connectors to JDM... If going this route its an 05 X-Trail satnav you need... Plugs straight in...
  23. Have a mate help you, WD40 or similar, spray it in and then press the switch while a mate gives it gentle pressure to help it work in and out, more spray, more working, should help it free up and as said a spray grease to keep it working...
  24. As said, a blue Z flew past me like I was driving a Transit... ........ .......... Ok, so I was driving a transit... Anyway, round quarter past eight heading towards the tradeston bit... I flashed "hello" but you were gone in traffic...
  25. Cool, PM sent... Cheers...
