    Monza

Done this many times mate, the trip, not the GP... Head for the tunnel on a night train, drive through the top of France through Belgium towards Bruges, Brussels and an overnight or two in Spa / Malmedy. Next day is the long haul to Interlaken, reason for heading into Belgium is so you can hit Germany where even on non Autobah routes speed is tolerated (once was doing 170 on the bike and realised Porsche man was about to mow me down I was going so slow but sitting ton 20 in the car passes the journey quickly and safely), anyway your heading for Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Basel, Bern, Interlaken where we stay at the Goldkey (ask for a room facing the south), again its a couple of days here. Next day is spent playing in the Alps, theres many ways you can do the passes but we like Grimsel to Furka to St Gottards to Nufenen (where I touched god, well a mad moment stood on the edge of the cliff and leaned into the wind, ok it was only a little lean but it was exilerating none the less) to Lower Furka towards Brig where its onto the Simplon (the run down to the border crossing at Gondo is fantastic and everyone down below hears you coming, like the Italian brder guards, Swiss side is unmanned) we go onto Baveno and stay at La Sorgente, look it up on Google Earth, real nice base to hit Monza from. On our return to Baveno from Monza we head for Varese and Laverno where we take the ferry to Varbania, just so so relaxing... Mind Monza is in a park in the middle of the city, traffic is a mare and try to get the road into the track figured out as its not so clear when your there... Its a handful of Euros to get in even just to look but worth it... If going to the GP book into a park and ride type setup on the outskirts of Milan, saves taking the car somewhere you’ll never get near on a day like that... You asked about speeding, from experience, Northern France at night heading for Belgium never been stopped sitting at the ton, Belgium been stopped three times all were all light hearted warnings (once went past them so fast in the rain they didn’t even bother), Germany your more likely to get pulled for bad driving than speeding and Italy the police are more corrupt than the government (speed trap and all of us fleced 40 euro cash, no receipt or ticket, let go only to have his mate 2 miles down the road try to pull us again, he got the vickies). Switzerland try not to sneeze or even fart too loud, I am still bamboozled as to how I was let free to walk out of court on a Sunday afternoon... Fuel ? A Prius sitting at 55 would get you there and back for twenty quid but you have a Z, enjoy it... Cant wait to get over again, have fun...
  6. No, sorry, I did the whole arms as the ball joint is the same age as the bush... Cutting was more than an option in my case... I cut the arm and the rubber and took the grinder to the sleve... But try this... Drill the rubber, take hacksaw blade, cut out the rubber, that removes the arm then grinder to the sleve, just be carefull not to cut too deep, not pretty but that arm has to come off...
  7. I used to work at Terex, they check at 100x magnification, I will never forget the answer when I asked why so microscopic, "I'v never heard of a crack that got smaller"
  8. Awsome thread... I'm surprised at how many people use it and their reasons for doing so... I'm in the off all the time camp...
  9. Could try a tin of Metaflux, wouldnt hold my breath for even that though, if there put on without lubrication there bound to fuse, just mind to cover the pin with a non copper based grease when you put the new one on... Oh and the bad news is its usually easier to take the grinder to them (both mine had to be done like that)... Hope you get it worked...
  10. At the lights at the college, I was the guy in the van that flashed the lights and waved... Cheers...
  11. Ay mate, you work at Chivas? Was just walkin down the scrappies and seen the car... Parked in the sun... Ah just work down the road at Paisley Self Storage across from the Accord Hospice... Small world...
  12. JDM SatNav is not useless... Theres a screen on there that lets you know your exact altitude with little pictures of the satellite positions (although the gps data itself will be wrong for some reason)...
  13. Hold on... Neither !!!!! Wheres the other? I have one behind the seats...
  14. Slave, braided line and RBF600 (or similar spec), should be on everyones tick list...
  15. I was on the bike, you had just come round the resivoir road and turned left, I was coming up the hill when you turned left so you probably never seen me let alone knew who it was... Cheers...

You'll be a lot cheaper doing that, lol... Later...
  17. Mark, sorry to jump in but its something I'm looking at for next summer, hope you can clarify... If my car is mapped with decats (for track us only ) but put the cats on for the one day year I go to the MOT, sorry, track, are you saying theres a risk of engine damage in my 50 mile round trip? If so I need to rethink things... Cheers...

What do you race / what club you in? I have the wee man racing a Comer Cadet the now, he's second in the club championship at Crail (ESKC) and last at Rowrah (CKRC) although we'v only started going to Rowrah... Spun at the chiccane last weekend and snapped the brake disc in the third heat, that ended our day... He loves it... Anyway, back to your post... Towbar on a Z !!!! Ahhhh hahahahahah... Are you mad !!!
  19. Sorry to come in with this one, the Mtech discs wont do any better than OEM and will wear quicker... The Mintex pads on offer are standard pads and you wont like them, there the lowest of the range and just have the name... Serious, brake fade will kick in quick if going for it... If going for Mintex pads try he 1155's or 1166's, know you'v bought already but I would trust Ewen at Clarks to point you towards the right thing for your application... Cheers
  20. Do a search on my posts for a fix for this... If the door handle return spring does not do its job then the door lock mechanism jambs, its trying to open but it cant coz the door handle has not returned (or the rod the handle pushes)... The spring that returns the handle is circular but you can replace it with a linear one to make it work properly at the cost of a cheap plastic clothes pin and a half hour of your time... Hope this helps... Cheers...
  21. Ola... Your gonna have fun with this car...
  22. Theres an American guy on one of the G35 forums that researched that the temp guage sits at that just under half way mark ours do while it is in range, cant mind the two temp values but as long as its within the two it reads just below half... Only when theres an overheating issue does it move... True or false I actually thought mine was broke a it never went above where it sits... Was actually relieved when it overheated as I now know the guage works...
  23. Pass... You wouldn't have missed the bike though I would have thought...
