  1. The key word was ‘rhetorical’.
  2. Yes... BMW... Yes... The dark side is this way...
  3. Agreed. It’s good we’re seeing plenty of new EVs coming, but I’m very concerned we’re not seeing any substantial increase in network capability for charging, both at home and more significantly on the road. I know you need demand first, but it’s quite clear now that many (if not all) manufacturers are progressing rapidly with RVs so where’s the infrastructure? It’s more a rhetoric question than anything.
  4. Well, in fairness that is wider, so I guess I got what I asked for I'm only being a pest as I can't decide whether I absolutely adore that, or it's too much with the wheels. I think the former though. Massively '90s in style, which gets the seal of approval from my ageing bones anyway
  5. The one where you say to her that when she starts paying for the cars herself, she gets to choose what she drives round in?
  6. There you go then, smaller motor and limit the throttle. Job done.

    Ring pile up

https://www.bridgetogantry.com/video-watch-that-14-car-pile-up-from-a-new-angle-and-try-your-best-to-heed-the-advice/ Still wanna drive the Ring with no insurance?
  8. Needs a wider shot to really see it.
  9. What we really need is more EVs focused on range, rather than power. EVs make perfect sense as commuting vehicles, so why not play to their strengths? Build a car with 0-60 of 7secs and a range of 500 miles, not one of 3.5secs and 250.
  10. Nope, they’ll just tax EVs harder based on their weight, because heavy ol’ batteries cause the vehicles to dig into the road surface harder. Or more likely they’ll just charge more based on power, because more electricity needs to be produced from fossil fuels. Or nuclear, so there’s waste costs to pay for. Or from renewables which cost a bomb and need paying for.
  11. That's tighter than I'd be comfortable with. My last garage was pretty tight with the 911 in, and that included a skinny tyre at the back for me to drive into to nudge so I knew when the back end would fit The 6er isn't even close to going into the current garage. Measured it, realised it wasn't going to ever be comfortable, gave up and parked it outside.
  12. Agreed, which is why that link I posted is so helpful as it does it all for you. Hence me wondering what YOU thought about it, not what you think about wall maps in schools. And oh-so-droll over the colours. You know what I meant, but I guess it's an easy way to deflect a question. I mean, why that one? Why not the inverse, where Antarctica is in the middle and everything else around it, with the North Pole being The Wall? And you do realise that map disagrees with human's viewing of the day/night cycle, right?
  13. Okay, so why this map? Why not any of the other maps that are shown flat in 2D? And where do you stand on that link I posted, that shows you accurate size comparisons of countries?
  14. So what happens when I’m in Alaska and follow the same latitude line and carry on travelling west?
  15. Okay, so that works for travelling south, what about if travelling east or west?
  16. Hybrid, EV, it’s all witchcraft This is hybrid, all future Polestars will be EV though (allegedly).
  17. A picture is not an answer. Try explaining with words: What happens when you reach the edge? And what I meant is that flight paths are often chosen to comply with the law, meaning they must be within X distance of land/airport or cannot fly over X country. So that needs to be taken into account from both your point of view and everyone else’s.
  18. Having rewatched it, I do agree that road is not the easiest to see down, and so the speed used was at the lowest end of what I’d personally feel comfortable doing. I’m also aware that cam footage is notoriously difficult to gauge distance and speed from! I do think there’s a few spots though where the OP could’ve used all of the available road to aid his forward vision, allowing for the speed to be increased safely.
  19. I’m not saying I’d have been driving balls to the wall either, but 27mph is (IMHO, and only going from that video) needlessly cautious. I can understand the bus driver’s frustration, whilst not condoning his actions. In fairness we’ve no idea how the bus driver would drive with kids on board. I’m betting we all drive differently with others in the vehicle anyway.
  20. Although I suspect this will utterly blow some minds too... https://thetruesize.com/
  21. Distance and flight paths are very different things. Steve is spot on the money here, every counter-post is just hammering home his point. Also, coming back to my point, regardless of which shape of map you’re using, if it’s flat then what happens when you reach the edge?
  22. So three things jump out at me here: 1. You need to adjust your rear camera 2. You weren’t kidding when you said he was tailgating! That’s ridiculous, what a prat. No need for it at all. 3. And this falls well down the scale of things that are wrong, and I’m assuming that’s NSL there, but sub 30 is also a silly speed and no wonder he had the hump. Please don’t take my last comment too harshly, I’m not for one moment suggesting you deserved him driving like that, but I can totally understand his frustration. Still not sure I’d bother reporting it as that kind of driving happens every single day, but I can see why you feel aggrieved. Also thank you for sharing
