    350z, 313 WANTED

They're wrong. It's 309bhp. If you have £12K but don't want to be spending all that, then how much is your actual budget that you are willing to spend?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds?Category=used-cars&M=476&MileageTo=60000&YearFrom=2008 Knock yourself out. And yeah, I know that misses off some of the 2007 cars as well
  3. Those tints look very dark... Facelifted bonnet can be purchased from Nissan for mega bucks, or someone like Zmanalex could be able to help you out here too.
  4. Always fit new discs with new pads, but new pads can be put on old discs. You can do the lot in a day, or do it over a few days. Makes no difference, as long as you make sure that one whole axle is complete.
  5. Perhaps it would be better just to let them use whatever tyres they want during the race. If they want to go on the option and rag the nuts off the car but take an additional stop, that might be quicker than using the slower prime tyre and saving a stop. That they have to use both right now is not helping matters.
  6. Pirelli are doing exactly what they're told to do, i.e. provide tyres that are crap and don't last. Blame FOM/FIA for this. I don't mind it so much, but what I would like to see is each team being given a set of option tyres for each session they compete in during qualifying. At least let them go batshit mental during qualy, then let them put whatever tyres they want on for the race depending on how they want to play it.
  7. Ah I see. I do, yes, based on the principle that I cannot afford to replace the car if I write it off. Well, I did on the Zed and the 911, but I don't with the MX5 'cos it's not worth a whole lot! It's risk-based: If you're happy with your own driving AND feel lucky that no-one else will drive into you, or can afford to replace the car if you bin it, then don't bother. If you feel nervous about any of that, then get some insurance. You'll be better off getting a road policy that includes trackday coverage, but for the odd day here or there then just get single day cover. Moris will quote you for the Ring, and they're quite reasonable too.
  8. Ah, just realised you said LS2 for £10K is mad, I totally agree, I was looking at the LS7 engines for that money. My bad.
  9. Maybe prices have dropped then from when I looked, I remember seeing prices at that level in the front of a kit car magazine a few years ago. Hell, if they're that cheap now then that's a great project for someone and I wouldn't even bother going second hand!
  10. You can, but you need many thousands of pounds and there's a waiting list that's a good few years long: BaT are doing only their second track day there in 13 years this year, their first one was in 2010! Or you could just book up with BaT and do it as a proper trackday, which is a much better idea.
  11. Oh don't get me wrong, I totally agree it would be an incredible car to own and drive, and I seriously considered it. For me, I decided I'd rather own a different car altogether than spend that sort of money on my Zed, but it's still something I'd like to do if cost and time were no issue. Nearly forgot that you'd also need to spend a good few grand more on supporting mods too, including bigger wheels for fatter tyres, better brakes to help you stop that much power, and possibly new suspension as well.
  12. Well yeah, if you want to go second hand on a lot of it then there's plenty to be saved. Tbh you'd be better off just buying a TVR and a Monaro, it would be cheaper.
  13. Crate engine is £10K Conversion parts call £5K Labour on top, call it another £3K - £5K depending on exactly what you want done Budget that and you may even have a bit to play with at the end too. Certainly that's what I was looking at when i was considering it.
  14. Stock engine is a grand Used TT kit is £1500 Gearbox another grand but not needed Exhaust maybe £500 Add a bit on for the engine which is an unknown quantity (not knocking you nor your engine builder, just one of those things) so call it £1800 for the engine, add the other bits on minus the gearbox and I'd be looking to pay around £4K for the whole shebang. That's my own personal maths, I've no doubt the arguments will now start! I also suspect that's significantly under what you'd be looking for it.

    Slip light

050A are great, it's the 040s that are **** poor. But yes, as noted above if the wear between front and back is massively different then you could get these sypmtoms. Or are you running 050A on one axle and 040 on the other? Just because it says Bridgestone on them both, doesn't make them a matching pair
  16. Quoted for when he buys yet another BMW
  17. They love them, they're both great cars full of character, pace and quality. SPOILER IN TINY WRITING Lap times for Bedford West: V6S 1:27.2, , V8V Roadster 1:25.6, V8S 1:25.2, Boxster S 1:24.2, 911 Carrera Cab 1:23.9 That makes the 911 cab, 143bhp down on power from the V8S, well over a second quicker! That really surprised me.
  18. No probs, glad people are still finding it helpful
  19. That's a clean, not a detail Looks good, nice job
  20. Interesting comparison between the top two F-Types and a boggo 911 cab, a Boxster S and a V8V in EVO this month. Lap times are especially fascinating to look at...
  21. Why have you not already raised the dispute??!! I'd have done that after a couple of days if I couldn't get hold of the seller.
