  1. He has gone quiet hasn't he? Not at all, I'm quite used to people being very wrong on here I want to include Ferraris in my list too. Actually it's not Ferraris themselves I hate, although some are pretty dire (whoever was behind the quality control for the 355 interior wants shooting), but the brand. It's a dead, diseased corporate whore that chases every single last penny. If ever there was a brand that could genuinely trade purely on race credibility it would be Ferrari, but they decided to sell the prancing horse to every man and his 8 year old child draped from head to toe in red. Ghastly way to kill a brand. And the whole "You can't purchase one of our top cars unless you already own a hundred of them and can never sell it" just pisses me off. No need at all, your brand is so watered down anyway that there's no point trying to be snobby about it.

    Slip light

 I do believe we are in total agreement here!
  3. To be fair though, an F1 car is about 15 secs quicker over a lap of Spa than an LMP1 car, so I don't think there's much comparison there really in terms of outright pace.
  4. Hang on a minute, that video is comparing a track day to F1! I'm not surprised they're a bit slower! How many times do we get an F1 GP like the last one though? I'm a massive fan of F1 too, so enjoy both that and the GT stuff, but for different reasons. I don't think one is 'better' than the other really. The only thing I don't care much for these days is WRC, but that's because all the good manufacturers have left so we're left with crappy cars and even the man that retired last year is back and still cantering to victory in every race. It should be so much better supported as when it's good it's unbelievable to watch, but it really needs some funding chucked at it.
  5. Just for fun, don't take it too serious Name a car you don't like, and why. Simple as. I hate the Peugeot 206. All of them. They're cheap, plasticky, gutless, lopsided with that stupid vent on the bonnet, and ugly. They have no redeeming features whatsoever. I also hate the Ford Ka, the original one. It's such a turd of a car, I would genuinely like to buy one just so I can set it on fire. It's also driven exclusively by 'tards.
  6. The 206 was a horrible car in all its guises. Sorry to break it to you. The best thing thing I can say about those cars was the secret compartment in the pax seat was quite clever. Everything else about them was dire. Actually, I feel a thread coming on...
  7. I ran 225/40/10 and 245/40/18 on the standard Rays and my car was fine, no issues with TCS at all. That said, some have had issues with those sizes so it might be very hit and miss, seems to dependant on the car itself. Best tyres I've ever used, just treat standing water as you would if you were running normal tyres at very low tread and you'll be fine.
  8. Not picking on you here bud, honest! Is that not the same for every driver from every racing principle ever? You have to be a certain level to get a drive full stop, so obviously they're all going to be around the same level. He's a c*ck and I can't stand him, but Alonso last year in a poor Ferrari was outstanding to watch. They're significantly different from everyday cars. It's like comparing a road going WRX to a Group N car, or a Fiesta 1.4D to an S2000 spec one. The only thing really carried over is a basic outline of the car, almost everything else is created from scratch. Holy sh*t this. The best race for me every year is the LM24. There is nothing like it, four (well, three really) different classes all on the same track for an entire day. Being there is very special, but even just watching it on the TV is still a fantastic experience. It's all the best bits of proper racing (driving balls to the wall) combined with the tech and strategy of F1 (aero, fuel consumption, tyre wear) and the length of an F1 season wrapped into just one day. Utterly stupendous.
  9. Why they didn't make the roof black as standard, I'll never know. Looks amazing, especially on a giallo car. They're my least favourite wheels on the 458 (too thin and spindly), but I have to admit the car design as a whole is growing on me as I didn't like them at all when they first came out. Any shots of the interior?
  10. Some companies will give named drivers NCB to use with that company. For example, I've got two years NCB with Admiral for being a named driver on the Impreza policy.
  11. Only if you actually are the second driver on it. Google 'fronting' for why declaring you are if you are not is a bad idea. Do a Gocomparethesupermeekat search, then check the specialist insurance traders on here.
  12. Name me one company that will cover you for armco damage and damage to other cars on either a track day or a TF day. To save you the hassle, there isn't one
  13. Insurance doesn't cover damage to the armco at the Ring, nor does it cover damage to other cars. You would have to pay for the armco damage yourself, plus any track stoppage time. As long as your weren't negligent with your driving, then you wouldn't have to pay the costs of damage to other cars.

    Rounded Nuts

Pop to your local metalworking shop and get them to measure them for you
  15. About 100lbs heavier, according to my google-fu.

    350z, 313 WANTED

They're wrong. It's 309bhp. If you have £12K but don't want to be spending all that, then how much is your actual budget that you are willing to spend?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds?Category=used-cars&M=476&MileageTo=60000&YearFrom=2008 Knock yourself out. And yeah, I know that misses off some of the 2007 cars as well
  18. Those tints look very dark... Facelifted bonnet can be purchased from Nissan for mega bucks, or someone like Zmanalex could be able to help you out here too.
  19. Always fit new discs with new pads, but new pads can be put on old discs. You can do the lot in a day, or do it over a few days. Makes no difference, as long as you make sure that one whole axle is complete.
  20. Perhaps it would be better just to let them use whatever tyres they want during the race. If they want to go on the option and rag the nuts off the car but take an additional stop, that might be quicker than using the slower prime tyre and saving a stop. That they have to use both right now is not helping matters.
  21. Pirelli are doing exactly what they're told to do, i.e. provide tyres that are crap and don't last. Blame FOM/FIA for this. I don't mind it so much, but what I would like to see is each team being given a set of option tyres for each session they compete in during qualifying. At least let them go batshit mental during qualy, then let them put whatever tyres they want on for the race depending on how they want to play it.
