  1. The Spyder is one of the few P-cars I've left to drive, if it's anything like my bro's CR then I bet it was a hoot at Spa.
  2. What 911 do you have man ?? Don't be quoting me selectively, you cheeky boy! I meant that the Evora suspension is light years ahead of my C2S, even though the 911 PASM suspension is already very, very good.
  3. Yeah you do, it's just minimised. You cannot run a turbo with zero lag, unless you break the laws of physics Twin charging is a cracking idea though, very easy to do if you're going rear-mount turbo.

At least you can hear the M3, better than the wheezy exhaust on the 350

Erm, it does though. Stock for stock, or modified for modified, the straight-six beats the V6 i reckon.
  6. Sorry, you must've taken my post the wrong way. I genuinely didn't realise they were common sizes for drifters, nor that drifters could get their sponsors to get the tyres made up for them. Apologies if it came out differently. It definitely is that kind of forum though!
  7. Fair enough. However, and with all due respect, I would look into this a lot more before you commit to this project, as there's plenty more there you'll need like the intercooler, ECU, oil supply for the turbo (assuming you go for an oiled one), as well as the fueling side you mention. Don't forget you'll also need to do the brakes and tyres too, if you haven't already. Have a read of the other turbo threads on here, as apart from the location of the turbo itself being different for you you'll need everything else a normal install will. Good luck, I always like to see folks fabbing pipework and stuff up for their own cars.
  8. I didn't realise they were pro drifter-specific sizes, nor that pro drifters can get tyres made to their spec. Handy to know.
  9. Were the 17" wheels lighter then?

It's like we're secret long lost brothers or something these days I knew I'd convert you eventually
  11. Rich will be able to give you more on this one, but when I looked into getting one I was disturbed to see that the running costs between Stook and Zed were identical. You can get a decent S2K for £5K, however you'll have to be a bit lucky as some will have been owned by cretins (but then, some Zeds have too now they're cheap). If cost-saving is your reason to change then I wouldn't bother, but if you just fancy something different then go for it
  12. You do now have to pay private parking companies, so long as they've followed a few basic rules. Parking Eye are now actively taking people to court, too.
  13. Neither, however that's not what you asked. Both are quite ugly cars from the B pillar back and have awful interiors, but only one of them has suspension that is to die for and feedback that is extraordinary. As such, I'd have the Lotus. If outright pace is your thrill then the GT-R is the obvious winner, however if you enjoy a more satisfying driving experience then the Evora/S is better by far. The Evora is the only car I've driven that made me think the suspension in my 911 is utter garbage. It's not, but the Evora is that good.
  14. No. As long as the repair is of satisfactory quality and is completed within a reasonable amount of time, then that's all they have to do. They may choose to refund you, but they do not have to. Satisfactory quality should mean that everything works and it looks good, and reasonable amount of time could be up to two weeks if it's something major, otherwise one week should be enough. Of course, if they needed a special part to repair and it was on back order of a month, then that would then be seen to be reasonable as you wouldn't be able to get the repair done quicker anywhere else.
  15. Doesn't matter at all, you used the car as consideration + money in exchange for goods. You will get the value of your purchase back, your old car is their problem. Of course, they may just fix it now yo' gettin' legal on their ass, which is their legal right to do so, and I suspect what you'd prefer.

Why didn't you buy a manual then?
  17. No need to call CAB, unless you really want to. Send them a letter stating that you require the car to be repaired within 7 days, or that you will be seeking a refund as per your statutory rights. No more mucking around, show them you're serious.

    You're not trying hard enough
  19. I'd go with what Steve said, 245/40/18 F and 265/40/18 R, they're as close as you're likely to get but then that's assuming you can get tyres in those sizes: I don't know how common they'll be, if I'm honest.
  20. How much power do you want? How much lag are you prepared to put up with? What other supporting mods do you have? What's your budget?
  21. It does, but that's an incredibly minor part of what wrapping does. It's mainly to prevent heat soak more than anything. When your exhaust gas is already 1000c, keeping it at 1050c (which is well over what wrapping can achieve) will do nothing. I've tried identical applications before and after wrapping on other cars, and the only difference you see is intake temps. For a giggle, we removed the intercooler and shortened the pipework by roughly half a metre, and I can tell you that made an incredible difference to how the car drove in terms of lag.

    Super crappy awful.
  23. How do you think reducing heat reduces the lag? A turbo works by compressing air and forcing it into the combustion chamber. The more air between turbo and chamber, the longer it takes to compress that air. Wrapping of the exhaust will not make any difference to the lag, only help to reduce intake temps in the engine bay, a feat which is better accomplished by intercooling or chargecooling. No harm in wrapping at all, but it won't benefit the car in the way you think. You won't be increasing the lag a bit, you'll be increasing it massively by a factor of however much longer rear mount pipe work is to front mount. I'm guessing at at least twice as much, more likely three or four times.

Best road tyres available for ANY car right now are the MPSS. The extra cost will be made more palatable by the extra wear: As an example, I get approx 10K miles out of a pair of 050A rears on my 911, my mate in his even heavier at the rear 911 T4S has just broken 20K miles on his MPSS rears, with a fraction over 3mm remaining. Driving styles are similar, although he's heavier on the brakes than me. Make of that what you will.
