  1. Buy it then, they're amazing cars.
  2. No idea. Possibly no aircon which would explain being cheap in Dubai, but I can't see a close up of the centre console to confirm.
  3. No such thing as having to offer a 3 month warranty, they just have to ensure the goods are of satisfactory quality. As a blowing y-pipe would fail an MOT then they have failed here, so have to carry out repairs.
  4. But yeah, I bet that was fun when you put the loud pedal down!
  5. Sauce?
  6. How many miles on OEM suspension?
  7. Doesn't mean a lot, just who paid the most to get their tyres approved as an OEM option to make money down the line. Porsche approved P Zeroes, 050A and PS2 for the 9x7 cars, and there's no way in hell you'd get me to put P Zeroes on a sports car! Luckily Michelin appear to be playing the money game right now and are getting the MPSS put on everything decent, which is a Very Good Thing Indeed. As far order in terms of quality, or at least what I'd consider putting on a car, Graham's got it spot-on
  8. Yup I'm not keen on the AD08s, but that's only because you can get the MPSS or 050A for the same money and they're better IMHO. That said, the AD08 is definitely better than 040, 452 or VUS.
  9. One word: Taxes. Well, strictly speaking business taxes. They're still too high, and coupled with the VAT rate as well as having to shell out PAYE and NIC it's surprisingly expensive trying to run a business. Certainly if these were reduced we could afford to pay our guys better (not that they're underpaid for this sector by any margin), but the government won't do that this side of an election as it just plays into the hands of the Labour lot. They'll decry "THEY'RE CUTTING THE TAXES FROM THE WEALTHY!" quicker than Saville would look at a schoolie. It's all about the public perception, and unfortunately the public are too stupid to understand what needs to be done.
  10. I see what you did there. No, genuinely, I don't see why anyone sees this as an issue. I wasn't trying to be clever or witty (I know, there's a first! ), I really can't understand why any one would be surprised or make a fuss over this. As a point of balance though, did you know that the top 1% of earners in this country pay almost 30% of all income tax?
  11. If only we had the balls to do that in this country. Good on 'em, I say.
  12. But that's what I mean when I say driving to the conditions. At that point, there was clearly too much snow or ice on the ground to enable the safe operation of the car, and you shouldn't have been driving it. Winter tyres help, no doubt, but they're no substitute for common sense. No offense meant! If you live in an area where there's lots of snow often, then a cheapy FWD or 4x4 shed is the way to go. If you live in the south where we only get a few bad days here or there, just leave the car at home.
  13. I'm not sure I see the problem. Seriously.
  14. As always, match the fronts or change all round. MPSS are expensive, but you more than make your money back in the length of time they'll last you. The question shouldn't be "What's popular?", the question should be "What do I want from a tyre?". Answer that, and then you can be recommended. Personally I enjoyed the VUS as a hooning tyre since you get masses of communication, although that's offset by lack of grip compared to the 050A or MPSS.
  15. Couldn't have put it better myself. Don't get me wrong, the standard BRZ86 isn't a slow car if driven properly, but the engine just isn't charismatic enough to make you want to use it. Having the grunt of FI should remedy that nicely.
  16. It's a lego brick on wheels. Distinctive yes, but pretty? No chance. The Elise is pretty, the VX is like the ugly ginger stepchild
  17. It really isn't. It's just more slang, as according to a very quick Google (as I had no idea what it meant) it's not in any of the proper dictionaries. And I'm not including the Urban one. About time a school did something formal like this, although it should be noted that it's an academy. Jo does this with her kids all the time, and refuses to answer their questions unless they formulate their words properly. They are from 'Arlow though, so that can be a bit of a struggle We were banned from using the word "bodge" when I was at school. To be fair to the teacher though, we did use it incessantly and it must've driven her up the wall
  18. Do people only have accidents in the winter then? Didn't realise that.
  19. It's just a car. Drive to the conditions as always and you'll be fine.
  20. 1. Choptop 2. I4N 3. Ekona +1 Yeah, go on then, count me and Jo in
  21. Sp what warranty are they going to give you on the engine repairs? I would expect a minimum of one year, personally.
  22. That looks awful
  23. Wow, that's an awful lot of black plastic Why don't car manufacturers just let us see the oily parts? They're the best bits!
  24. I don't want to own something that ugly. Normally I'm quite happy to buy ugly cars (VXR, Zed ragtop) but only if they've got everything else where it matters. In this case, the drivetrain lets it down so much that I wouldn't contemplate it, no matter how good the rest of it may be. My loss perhaps, and I'd happily have a go in one, but that's about it.
