Suddenly remembered today that I should probably let my insurers know about the turbo, and then discovered that they won't cover me At this point the sensible thing to do is to forget the whole thing. So I promptly cancelled that policy and took out another one! Lost about £200 due to cancelling a policy mid-term, but it's not too bad really. My own silly fault, didn't even think it would be an issue at all. Am picking the car up tomorrow from one garage with hopefully functioning brakes, then dropping it off for the conversion on Saturday at another which should be done Monday, so I might have half a chance of having the car ready for Bedford next weekend. Hopefully...

It's all guesswork atm, as it's a car meant for GT rather than the actual roads. I have no desire for a £100K sports car with a 2L four pot. Just like I have no desire for an i8 at that price with a 3-pot.

Corvette called, they want their car back. Looking good, but that interior is still 100% concept, the wing mirrors are too small (EU regs) and those wheels are still too big. Only did a couple of days, and left by lunchtime They were good, but the rest of the trip doing everything else was better. Just cruising down to Miami and going through all the little backwater towns and right past Sebring was amazing.

No-one is going to pay any extra for a 7 year old AV receiver if it's got a box Tech will be so out of date by then it's untrue, unless it's a very high end one. If it is, then it'll be worth loads still regardless of having a box or not IMHO. Same with a TV, or speakers, or anything like that really.
