  1. And that link is based on an actual car, so imagine how much more to create your own and add the running gear...
  2. What do they do at the moment?
  3. Mate, not being funny but you've no chance at getting something decent for that money. Unless you can design your own space frame via CAD and have an idea of suspension and chassis design so it doesn't handle like an utter pig, as well as being able to complete everything from painting to wiring to interior fitment to IVA stuff then £25k would be wildly off the mark. Even vaguely decent replicas based on actual cars (albeit ones with four pots) are coming in at around £20K minimum. For a design and build package for that, I would guess at a near doubling of that at the very least. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm miles out, but I certainly wouldn't think that £25k is realistic I'm afraid. That said, it's a good idea and if you can do the entire build after the space frame for that cost then massive fair play to you.

    WouId you?

£40k no chance. Closer to £140k with options, if they ever make it.
  5. Every now and then I'm correct, I just don't tend to make a habit of it Glad it's all sorted for you mate
  6. The only recent Audi V12 is a diesel, so probably not the best for a Lambo replica Total budget for the build?
  7. Long term I guess it'll save the government money, but there's a huge cost element to setting up a new system. Never mind we're all going to pay more VED because everyone keeps buying low emission vehicles.
  8. I wear my gloves and boots when I go for a blat in the MR2. I still obey the laws of the road. Not sure what difference there is? People always wear the gear of their heroes. Doesn't natter if it's football, motor racing or cycling.
  9. Well yeah, because you don't own a Beetle. Seriously though, take a step back dude, that would look horrendous.
  10. It was never about cost saving, it was about doing away with a redundant system that all the public were moaning about. Now they've got their wish, I hope they're happy about it...
  11. They're actually doing the conversion in a single day, which for a proper garage isn't too hard. We used to do them in a long day in a garage as a bunch of amateurs! Pax ride more than welcome matey, still got the stock seat in. Stu, I don't think it's that they wouldn't cover me as such, more that they wouldn't cover such a drastic power increase. I can see their point and clearly it's just a rule of the underwriter, but I'm just glad that someone would take a punt. Also fair play to Nicola at A-Plan, she spent a good while this afternoon sorting it all out for me, back and forth with phone calls.
  12. Do it. Don't think, just do it. Every driver should own one once in their lives. With the value of them holding firm, you could buy one and run it for a year, then sell it and not lose any money.
  13. I think that makes you cooler than me
  14. I happen to look good in tweed
  15. You can, we're all doing it this year
  16. You always will from meow on
  17. Suddenly remembered today that I should probably let my insurers know about the turbo, and then discovered that they won't cover me At this point the sensible thing to do is to forget the whole thing. So I promptly cancelled that policy and took out another one! Lost about £200 due to cancelling a policy mid-term, but it's not too bad really. My own silly fault, didn't even think it would be an issue at all. Am picking the car up tomorrow from one garage with hopefully functioning brakes, then dropping it off for the conversion on Saturday at another which should be done Monday, so I might have half a chance of having the car ready for Bedford next weekend. Hopefully...
  18. Don't be so catty.
  19. Illegal isn't quite the right term to use, but you are correct in that the RA would be made and those things would be considered.
  20. We're only pulling your leg mate, it's internet law that when people ask about being naughty it's automatically them wot dun it
  21. Any chance of some more details on this? You can use the 'your friend' example if you want
  22. Why on earth would it be illegal for police to chase a fleeing motorbike?! Not illegal in the slightest. As with all pursuits, a risk assessment will be made and the decision to pursue made on the results of that.
  23. Well, I don't want to say I told you so, but... /smugface
  24. How are you getting on with the Insanity? Have you got the full programme?
