  1. Sorry, I meant the speeds! 167mph is very low for a GT-R on that straight.
  2. It's the weight, not the air box. Ragtop has about 150kg on the coupe, that massively blunts performance. Going back to the stock air box won't change that, I'm afraid.
  3. Hey, if you find him funny that's all that matters, I genuinely appreciate the thread as good comedy is hard to find outside of the mainstream. Just so happens this time it's not to my taste, but if you know of anything else please post up
  4. I didn't get it either. I see what he was going for, but just not my cup of tea I'm afraid.

Any mapping is always a risk, as is dyno time. It's why they make you sign a waiver before going on a dyno. If you have any worries at all, don't do it. On the other hand, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest as long as you go with a reputable tuner.
  6. Seems a bit low for a GTR at Brunters. Did they have the whole straight? Looks like a great day, and the money raised is a great result
  7. Great service too, really helpful bunch of guys if you ever need to speak to them
  8. I've got a small Lowepro bag that I used to use for my old video camera, so I binned the video camera and just shoved all the bits in that instead. Stuff kinda gets wedged in there rather than fits
  9. I know where there's a decent engine up for grabs soonish, if that's any help?
  10. Buy this suction mount, NOT the official one. Far superior, and this is the one the pros use when filming. You WILL need the bigger battery, even with it mine doesn't last more than a few hours if you're on/off/WiFi. That is, unless you run it from USB all the time which I now do when in the car if at all possible. Any monopod will do, just find a cheap one from eBay. You can use the GoPro thread adaptor you get with the suction mount I linked to to attach it.
  11. Eeep! Rings gone? I assume precats were removed ages ago.
  12. It is, I'd much rather be there in the MR2, much more fun.
  13. The worse thing they ever did was call them sidelights. If they'd called them parking lights, people might have an idea as to what they should really be used for.
  14. Yeah, pretty much. It's all down to practice, much like shifting without using the clutch at all.
  15. It's pointless on modern cars with synchromesh. Mate of mine does it, despite never having driven anything that old which I find utterly bizarre!
  16. They work on a high-turnover rate of cars, and they also work on the principle that if you can blind the customer with science they're less likely to cause you any harm. They have a lot of nice motors there, and tbh my next purchase may well come from them, but I will go in with my eyes firmly open and everything will be in writing.
  17. It can work, but only on older cars or where the car isn't yours and you have zero mechanical sympathy
  18. I'll be at Bedford with the rest of the crew on here on Aug 23rd, if you fancy joining us? Still don't know if I'll be in the '2, though.
  19. I don't I don't like the positioning of Merc DRLs so low down, but otherwise I think they're a good idea for the most part. It's a shame they've become necessary because people are too stupid to use dipped lights appropriately, but on the other hand they've added a dimension to the design of cars which has been interesting to watch develop.
  20. Dipped beam is not just so you can see, but so others can see you. The amount of people I see driving grey cars on a grey road on a grey day and think that they stick out like a sore thumb is scary.
  21. Do you hit your knee on the wheel every time you go from accelerator to brake then?
  22. I have absolutely no idea what car I'm taking to this now. Looking more and more likely I'll end up in the 911
  23. If a lodger is a must, can I make a suggestion that you choose them? I don't think your Mum has a great track record in picking the right people to share her life with. At least get a veto.
  24. Well thanks for that, blizzard now confirmed
