  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-28937610 WHO say that e-cigs should be banned indoors, and sales to kids should stop.
  2. Dude, you've got issues.
  3. That's not what I said at all. The cause would be more helped by everyone pledging £1 a year for ten years, than £10 now and then nothing ever again.
  4. They're just bungs, as Colin says.
  5. S2K was miles more fun on track than my old Zed was when I drove them back to back at Anglesey, but really I think you want something light and/or sacrificial for track stuff. Your BMW works because it's completely sacrificial at the price you paid, and my MR2 works because it's now so light (and soon with the power to help it!). I don't know how light you can get an S2K, but it would need to be close to 1000kg to see the big differences in cornering. Personally I'd be looking at Elises for that kind of money, they're much better suited and will be both quicker and more challenging. More expensive to fix if you bin it, though!
  6. A one off donation to charity is all well and good, but it's the repeated donations that help more than anything. As any business will tell you, if you have a guaranteed income you can budget far better than if you get the odd one-off big payment here and there. It's why the only charity I donate to gets a monthly sum, rather than a token bit here or there from me. It's different for things like the Poppy Appeal, who do an annual fundraiser and kinda know when all their cash is coming in. For all the spectacular sums of money that ALS/MND charities are getting, they will have no plans for this and we may not get as much benefit out of it as you would think. Medical research is frightfully expensive, and IMHO a lot of this money could be better spent on palliative care for those sadly afflicted.
  7. They're okay, we tracked one at the weekend. Standard suspension is miles too soft, and even if you keep it on the boil it's lacking torque out of the corners. Goes and stops well enough, mind.
  8. Probably, but on the off-chance it's not (the poster might not know any better, or those choices are simply what his local tyre fitter has offered), I think it's worth mentioning at times.
  9. Don't worry Flex, I got the joke
  10. But if you get more than twice the mileage from them, and you get significant performance improvements, then it may well be worth finding the extra cash (0% credit card?) and taking the plunge. I get what you're saying, which is why I've started answering tyre threads more directly as it's a fair point, but really there's a good financial reason to suggest the more expensive tyres here too.
  11. The reason people keep dropping another type in is because it's so much better, and makes more financial sense too. To carry the analogy on, it's like someone asking whether they should get a Japspeed K2 or a Japspeed K1, when the obvious answer is just to get a Cobra or Scorpion. More money, but a much better and longer lasting product Also, you'll note I didn't bring it up either
  12. Focus, easy.
  13. The car wasn't a factory order, it was already built and at their depot? Doesn't matter, if they incur extra costs whilst trying to shift it then legally you will have to pay for that. Unlikely though, as main dealers don't really tend to do that for fear of the bad PR, especially at the lower end of the market. Merc may have been different if you'd ordered a £100K S-class though!
  14. F1s, no contest.
  15. You may end up with much less than your deposit back, if the dealer cannot sell the car and you have to bear the extra costs...
  16. Can probably lock that one now Colin, save any duplication.
  17. No right or wrong answer, drive a manual and see what you prefer.
  18. A house, sadly. The replacement will come once that's sorted, although what will be I've no idea. Car is now sold too, so I'll do a final write up with some scary figures in the next week or so.
  19. Budget for 23mpg, anything else you get is a bonus.
  20. It's another £250 a year (roughly). That's less than a fiver a week for a car that's quicker, with a better engine and a better interior. That makes it a bargain
  21. For a gen2, yes. Basically I've just set a new low bar for the car, must really annoy other owners Could've got more if I'd been prepared to wait, but tbh that's just hassle I don't need really.
  22. Some bloke rang me up and offered me £500 over asking price, but the other chap was on his way down to view and I'm too nice to do that to someone
  23. I really still am, just wondering if I should try something different though. I dunno, got a few months to think about it anyway.
  24. Well, it seems even my cack-handedness at writing ads doesn't put people off, the car was sold as of 30mins ago. Thanks for the comments folks
  25. Looks like good fun, nice vids too Do sort your hands out though!
